i am THRILLED! i have been wanting a size 12 Filbert feom them for so long! i have another brands Filbert but its not that great and i love filberts and my favorite brushes are princtons. i cant wait for it to be back in stock!

Hullo Jenna, I am so amazed that there are so many different ways to create with watercolors! I went to a retreat where the only brush the instructor wanted us to bring was a #12 long belly round! He claimed there was no reason for any other brush to be used in painting! I enjoy that you use your filbert for creating an entire painting! I continually speak on the fact that it is not the tools or supplies that creates, it is the Artist! I once had to leave a gathering at my local art collective as the guest speaker insisted that the only medium a "real" artist uses is oil paint! I have been painting with watercolors at just 10 years old with instruction from my Gran. I use any brush that I can find, I enjoy working with squirrel hair, but the improvements in synthetic hair is miles above than when I started!

Jenna,thank you so much for all of your tutorials. I’m 65 and I have Never painted anything in my life ( I could mess up stick people 😂) Seriously, I never thought I could paint let alone doing it petty well until I came across your tutorials. I was looking for something to do ( other than crochet )to pass time since I’m retired and while looking up patterns I came across a tutorial of yours and decided to check it out. It was the first time in awhile that I actually got excited about something other than crochet 😊 So I decided to give watercolors a try and I am obsessed! I never thought painting would make me feel so happy ( like I said I have NEVER painted anything before,other than my house and I wasn’t good at that😂) My son is very talented at drawing and so is my husband and most of my family. Honestly I don’t think I ever really tried until now. I grew up always being told I 13:37 wasn’t good enough at anything so after awhile I believed it,even now at 65,I always think I am not good enough. Your tutorials have been so helpful and I am finally starting to believe in myself So thank you so very much for giving me the confidence to actually try watercolors and post my paintings on fb and Instagram. It has given me such joy❤ Oh and I just ordered this brush and can’t wait to try it out 😊 I wish CZcams was around when I was growing up!

Jenna, I received the bloom brush today and when I opened the package, I cracked up. This thing is HUGE. My first thought was that I would never, ever be able to use this thing. Surprise. It works great, even for thin grass painting. Great job with this tool.

If I remember correctly, you did a video the first time you had used a filbert, and now you have your own! Congratulations to all of the success you've had! 🥳 I have a question. What is the purpose for a brush to have a longer handle?
brushes with longer handles are usually used when painting on easels, or on substrates that are up at angle. they help you get further away from your painting, and are useful for working more loosely and expressively. (which works great for loose floral paintings, in Jenna’s case.) i personally find that they feel a bit more unbalanced and unwieldy when working on a desk or table, but it’s entirely up to personal preference.

i prefer short handled ones too! I'm even considering shortening some of my long brushes somehow haha
@@Goldi-Luc You laugh, but I've been known to cut off the top of one or two of my long handled brushes with a little saw!!

Hello everyone and hello Jenna. Does anyone know what type of coating is used on arches or any other watercolor paper? I am asking because I have been tested positive for serious, toxic coding materials used on even toilet paper and paper towels. Thank you for your help as I will always enjoy my water color interest, but I need to do it on safe paper. Thank you much love to all.

Haha! No, that's just how the light is reflecting off the leaf.
@@JennaRaineyChannel I thought so…but I kept trying to track how the light was coming in and it didn’t seem to be hitting the lower leaves so it threw me off. Plus that looks soooo blue! Lol

@jennarainey Hi Jenna!! There are no size 12 Blooms brush on the Amazon link. It only goes up to a size 10 filbert. Is it out of stock? Where can I find. Ty!

I used my 14 filbert but will get the Princeton 12 as soon as it is available!

Jenna - it would be great if you could provide a link directly to the product not the storefront. In your Amazon store I don't think I can find that brush. All I see is size 4. Nothing saying it's sold out, it just doesn't seem to be there. That's so odd that I must be doing something wrong. In Blick I think I found it, but not 100%. Is it a synthetic brush?

Long handles brushes are technically for oil or acrylic but yes, you can use it for any medium you want. They are not to make the brush looks "elegant". 😂
