I have several of the 1 qts, several of the large camel backs. But I also have 4 of these. Either to carry with my kit, throw in a vehicle, strap on my side, whatever! Never hurts to have water carrying capacity! Plus these particular canteens with cover have a pocket for water purifier tablets! Good stuff!
Buddy of mine actually used to carry that along with his camel bak. I asked him why, he told me that when he was in USMC and serving in Iraq, he one time had a time when before operation he was told that he was going to come back to base after about 7 hours so he only filled up his camel bak. About few days later and he was still there, and since then it got him into a habit of carrying both 2 qt or two 1 qt canteens AND a camel bak.
I've integrated one into my backpacking & prepper/fighting loadout. I use a tan bottle made for Desert Storm but I use it for electrolytes ( Gatorade, etc.). The tan makes it easier to see if its been cleaned properly. I use this in addition to 2 canteens and a camelbak. It hangs off my shoulder or carabined to my pack hip belt so I can get it while walking. I need alot of water in the Southwest Desert. It can also be squeezed as its drunk to reduce swishing while moving around and creating noise that can be detected. Similar to a Camelbak.
Cool, I used this one the other day when cutting down and trimming trees in my back yard. We are starting to hit the 90s and 100s out here and it made the chore SO much simpler than lugging a bottle of water around.
Good video. I like the size of the 2 qt, it fits exactly into the front pocket of my ALICE rusksack without the canteen cover. Although the smaller ones are nice to have also because of the boiling cup
I have a couple of these, and somewhere but my wife "put it away" my 5 qt canteen. You can squeeze the air out so you do not get any sloshing noise either. Thank you for the review, George
Very cool. I still have the desert camo one issued to me prior to the Persian Gulf War. Wet the cover pouch and it will keep your water a little cooler in a hot desert environment. Great review.
I used to carry one of these strapped to the bottom yoke one the forks under the headlight of my motorcycle on a hot day when I stopped because of the airflow the water was real cold mostt invigorating
I used one early to mid 80s. Stationed in W. Germany M1 tank bn. It's carrier was ALICE PACK material. It was awesome compared to the standard issue 1Qt canteen. I never thought to use it as a pillow.
We still use these in the military. We love them. However, not being able to see inside them and the narrow mouth makes it more difficult to clean, so some people prefer Nalgene wide mouths
Yeah I looked for a cheaper one, but the cheaper ones are made in china knock offs, so I figure if someone wants the real deal like they saw in the video, that was the link for it! Still not bad, around 23 bucks
Howdy Iridium 242 this is the first time i have visited your channel However i have seen you quite a bit on CZcams commenting on videos I have 2 of those collapsible 2 quart canteens they can be a life saver when it comes to noise discipline I Am not sure if you were aware of this or not the sloshing of water in a half full canteen can be a security issue but not with these collapsible canteens squeeze out the air fix the cap in place & you are ready to go on patrol or what ever the case may be that require a bit more stealth
I always forget to freeze stuff or consider it since I live in the desert :) It does expand nicely so I am not sure it would be an issue and it is used by the military so I am sure its been tested, but now I have a reason to toss it in the freezer tonight in my garage and test it for myself!
We used to cary one of these in our alice packs along with 2 one quart canteens on our lbe. Used to use the 2 quart to refill the one quarts. Have you ever tried one of those canteen straw kits with the 2 quart? Essentially it turns the 2 quart into a Camelback. I have seen them on Amazon but never seen a review of one. Would be worth a video.
lol I found that and already ordered it haha I followed your link and on the top of the page it says "You purchased this item...." so expect a video soon!

I like the size of that one! Like you said, here here in the desert you need that extra water!

Thanks for the upload, I like the squish down anti slosh mechanism of the canteen it's def a selling point for me !

great for the truck and for resupply
If you've ever been in mop 4 in July you understand the need for water lol

This will fit in a 200 round SAW pouch.
Would you consider freezing it?....If it is collapse-able-maybe it will also expand full of water. Just a thought. Thanks again for thoughtful review.

Is there any cup or pan that fits in with it, like the one quart?
I prefer canteens made out of metal. I want to be able to put it directly on a fire. But maybe that's just me.
I do prefer them out of metal, but If I am already carrying a cook kit, this is a good way to carry some extra water.
I was just gifted one for free lol
Where is Plan B? Thanks for the review!
Its local to me here in Pahrump, If you are local its on highway 372
