Bill made a decision that was not for the better of the team, but for personal reasons. Let the team down bad in the buggest game
I think regardless Nick Foles simply played the game of his life! Even that one pick he technically threw was not an errant throw just a deflection off a receivers chest that landed in the grasp of a patriots defender rather deep in NE territory. Brady played absolute superb with three TDs and 505 yards but Nick Foles was simply sensational.
He had to have a good reason, there's no way you bench the guy who just won you a Super Bowl in the Super Bowl for a silly reason
@@darnelldarden9429 my math may be incorrect but wasnt that butler pick in 2015? Hmmm.
The other 6 superbowls he did nothing though right
@@benjaminaguilar8466 other 6??? He only played in 3 and he won 2.
I think we can all appreciate the choice of music when the guys asking Belichick about benching Malcolm and hes just staring into his soul.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bilichik can't admit he made a mistake.
He WONT… it’s not that he can’t , he simple has too much proud to say it!!!
He doesn't think it was a mistake, for what ever reason he benched Butler, he stands behind it.
The fact that Butler refuses to say anything about it… tells me, he’s waiting for the right time, to tell his side… Smart move
I think it's called regret and embarrassment. As Chung or McCourty said, "he knew why he wasn't going to start".
watch the NFL film about Butler play and you'll know why.
@@afmartin2734yea it really seems like it’s something he did in the heat of the moment and bill being a coach kinda like saban is NOT going to take disrespect especially if it was something really bad like Malcom is kinda giving off. But it could be something deeper like bill got the call from the big club that non of us are in and said aye don’t play him or else and did that. Who knows lol
Whatever he did, its gotta be bad for Butler not to go public. A lot of people say he slept with a coach's wife.
Good looking Bill! Helped my Eagles win the Super Bowl 🏆
Nick don’t fold
Foles has the strangest career of any quarterback in my lifetime. From throwing 27 tds to 2 ints and 119 pr In 2013 to being shipped to the Rams in 2015 and spending the next two seasons on the bench to an MVP performance in the CC and SB, filling in for an injured Wentz again and leading the Eagles on a late season surge all the way to the divisional round and now back to league backup.
Only Kurt Warner’s more unique.
@@chicagodude8888that’s honestly a great comparison in how weird they are the extreme highs and extreme lows. Unfortunately I believe warners was more injuries and the teams around him in New York were terrible. Foles I think was more system but man like Darnell docket said when Warner was on he’s on and video game like but when he’s off ohhh boy lol. Foles very much the same in that aspect.
@@gabriellemaudlin9145 The knock on Warner throughout his career was the receiving talents he was surrounded with in STL and Az. My counter to that is why weren’t Leinart and Mccown pro bowlers or nfc champion quarterbacks? Why the significant drop off from 2 MVPS to a couple pro bowls from Bulger?
Basically the Terrell Davis of HOF quarterbacks in terms of peak performance being the reason they’re HOFers
Rule of thumb states; players win championships; coaches lose them. Belichick lost one at the very least.
Video title says Super Bowl 57, the guy says Super Bowl 51 in the beginning of the video, and reality is Super Bowl 52 haha
Has to be a woman involved somewhere in the story
Exactly bro, because it makes no sense.
Big facts maybe he smashed his daughter 😮

Nah , Malcom put hands on Bill son . He was part of the defense...
@@5lime9ordoI heard the same thing
Say what yall want but the fact that butler hasn't even told his teammates says to me it was sumn that bill got swept under the rug for malcom but also still made him pay a steep price
Did he sleep with the Coach Wife???
@@commonsense3921hmmm. Maybe. I know that Antonio Brown has given the impression at least wanting to smash Brady’s wife Gisele.
It was nice that one time arch nemesis Richard Sherman got to play with Brady in part of the 2021 season in Tampa. Logan too got to once play on the Brady Bucs too in 2022. As much as I couldn’t stand Sherman’s cantankerous attitude towards Brady but it was nice they attenuated that with uniting in Tampa or Tompa
Logan Ryan was a great CB for the Titans. Big part of those few good teams we’ve had over the past years. TitanUp
Coach B got two great Logans for the Patriots in mankind Ryan. Wow! What a run with Logan! It’s almost like a classic movie ergo Logan’s Run. Omg gosh that is a stretch like taffy and I’m a man who enjoys his taffy
Bill let his ego override his common sense...
Yep, and as an Eagles fan, we appreciated it.
@@peacewilliam-west2249 I still believe the Eagles would've still won if Malcolm Butler was on the field.
@@dougiedoug8994 Maybe, but we took advantage of Rowe that game.
Probably not if Malcolm still has not said what he did🤔
@@dougiedoug8994I don’t think so. The benching disrupted not only the defense but by extension the entire team. Brady had to throw for 505 yards with a stitched together throwing hand (stitches removed right before the game) and they still lost. Belichick made a lot of bad decisions that hurt the Patriots over the years but this was the pettiest and dumbest. He spent six years plotting to get rid of Brady and when he did, the team that he was both manager and coach of just got worse as time went on.
Gotta give y’all props. Y’all probably have the best set I’ve seen. Very professional looking.

Butler will make some money doing the podcast circuit.
Fixed. That's why.
I’m from Vicksburg, MS. Me and Dro went to the same high school, but I graduated 2 years before he got to high school so we never overlapped.
Back home we have a better understanding of what caused the altercation. Malcolm broke curfew the night before that Superbowl and when he finally arrived to his room one of the assistants confronted him. That lead to Matt Patricia showing up due to the noise and his room being close by. They both got a little aggressive in their argument which lead to Belichek and his son showing up as well as other players arriving to break it up. I don’t recall hearing about it becoming physical, but others have verified that it did in some form or another. I think he would have made a difference in the game, but he broke the rules and had to deal with the consequences. If it hadn’t gotten as loud as it did, they probably would have just suspended him for the first quarter/ half instead of the entire game.
if thats the case random staff or hotel staff wouldve spoken out or leaked it to the press
@@aaronnilestoussaint5672 - As Chung or McCourty said "he knew why he wasn't going to start". If Bademosi makes that 3rd down tackle or Chung doesn't go down opening it up for Ertz, this isn't even a topic. Butler went off the rails at the end because he didn't get a new contract. What if Bill is just protecting Malcom?
This is the only thing that I’ve ever heard that makes sense given how Malcom has acted after the incident.
All the conspiracy and anti-Belichick rants don’t add up because Malcom would at this point be free to speak his mind and expose Bill’s selfishness or pettiness. But he hasn’t.
Logan Ryan seems like one of the first people he would have told, since they became teammates again in Tennessee.
Maybe drugs or something illegal like gambling that would have hurt the team if he played defense? That sort of thing would explain Belichick’s actions, his silence, as well as Malcom’s silence.

@@johngoncalves4665 Let be real, The Eagles would've still beaten us if Malcolm was on the field because Malcolm wasn't that great either that whole season.
He was easily one of the 3 best players on that defense.
@@dougiedoug8994 I don't know how you can definitely say that. It was a close game, and Butler is way better than Eric Rowe. He could have made the difference. Regardless of how he played that season, that move definitely made things easier on us.

Ego comes before the fall. Malcolm didnt deserved that. And too give Bill a pass not answering is BS. Coming from a Pats fan. We love Malcolm, thst kid played with his heart on his shoulder. The media treat Bill with Kid Gloves. Never would let Tomlinson off that easy..
Malcom would of had to done something pretty bad to where neither him and Bill won't talk about it and not even the team knows about it
Malcom has talked about it and said he still doesn't no. But we all know.
You can bet that whatever it is was on Malcolm or he would've been all about telling what happened. And Bill being who he is showed enough class not to run his mouth about it.

If that's the case then it's obvious that Bill and Malcolm had a verbal difference and Bill is about having control over such differences
There were some pivotal eagle infractions the refs just ignored like an eagles receiver having his foot out of bounds when it was called a TD, Chris hogan being thrown around like a rag doll on the Brady Hail Mary pass and not called, the hit on a patriots receiver that wasn’t called. (He later played for the rams in super bowl 53). Now I do agree the Zach Ertz TD was called correctly even though Collinsworth questioned it
What probably happened was the NFL films story about the Superball interception were the Patriots downgraded Butler importance in the play relegating him to a just a guy and not the one responsible for the play itself.
Apparently he got into a heated argument with Bills son
He cussed bill out in a meeting and it got heated. Bill showed him who was boss in the SB.
People act as if Butler was Darrelle Revis, he was not. One play wonder, then disappeared.
Bill is crazy 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Has anyone at all told the full story for why a really good receiver like Chris Hogan was released. That is something I’ll never understand. And please don’t say it’s just business
If Logan don't know, I doubt anyone else knows the truth.
He was told to sit so Tom Brady can have a better chance at Super Bowl MVP 🤦♂️ 💯 Malcolm was the real MVP of the Super Bowl when the Patriots played the Seahawks 🏈 He made the game winning interception 💪
Folks said Belichick did nothing after Brady. It’s not true!
The year Cam Newton signed very late, July 2020, & The Covid yr, it wasn’t bad. He’s 7-8, with no help much at all. His top Vet Receiver Edelman left aft 6 gms. Brian Hoyer is 0-1 with The Chiefs when Cam is out! ESPN didn’t list Cam’s dual threat Stats, of 12 Rushing TDs, & 1 historic TD catch. The bad yr is 2023, when Mac Jones is 2-9 who got permanently benched for Bailey Zappe. Mac lost the locker room, got fined 3Xs, etc. He got traded to Jaguars. Bill got fired. Cam had been gone for 3 years. Bill got fired with Mac Jones, & not Zappe. Mac & Zappe didn’t get along, either! 😳😞

Here is the problem for Bill Belichick , when you have rules and standards and someone violates those rules and standards and you let them get away with it, you no longer have rules and standards, the players are given essentially home work and the game before the super bowl Malcom clearly didn't study his and got burnt. They gave him his package he didn't bother to study it and bill benched him, thats what i believe happened. You say Bill should have played Malcom and cost the patriots the super bowl, i say Malcom cost the pats the super bowl.
Malcolm Butler .. no Malcolm Butler .. doesn't matter. Philly was winning that game. It was just their day.
What if Bill is just helping Butler cover up another Hernandez-like situation
As a Falcons fan...Bill made the right call 😂
The Elite wanted the eagles to win the superbowl
Basically Belichick threw the game!
Maybe he had money on it or he was jealous of Brady 🤔
Bill ran the team a certain way and held everyone accountable. You always hear about how Tom Brady was held accountable, and so was everyone else. In the documentary Wes Welker, who has public animosity towards bill for contract negotiations, implied Aaron Hernandez got special treatment but other players came out and said, “he got motherf***ed all the time by bill”. Surprise the guy who publicly hates bill tried to make him look bad.
You don’t get special treatment. He’s gonna live up to his word. He will bench you if you don’t live up to his standard even in the Super Bowl. That’s why he had 2 Lombardis as a d coordinator, 6 as a head coach, even a fricken Emmy award, and you’re in bed watching CZcams videos about his greatness. He isn’t going to let anyone jeopardize his authority or the rules, even if it’s the Super Bowl. He would rather throw a Super Bowl than drop his standards or give special treatment. You don’t know better than Bill Belichick. Arm chair coaches! lol! I bet you’d have that locker room more prepared than bill. Idiots in the comments.
Rumors have it Malcom and One Bills Sons had a Affair but who knows only they know
He beat bill sons up
He got into with Bill's son
Bellichick - Brady = Rex Ryan
#simplemathematics
As an Egles fan I was sad Butler didn’t play. The Eagles would have rolled up 50+ if Butler had played. He played all year and the Pats were 30th against the pass. Belichick knew what he was doing. The only way NE were going to be within 17 points in that game was Brady and cheating. Brady threw for 500+ and the refs didn’t give NE a penalty all day except a Gronk false start.
And you wonder why you didn’t get the job in Atlanta lol. EGOTISTICAL. Ultimate power corrupts the end of bills tenure was his pride before the fall.
Someone know Malcom just don’t rock with dude 4real

Kraft said in a recent interview or book if they'd lost that SB he'd have fired BB and kept Brady.
@@commodorezero Kraft is 82 and has been making bad decisions for years, including NOT dealing Brady after SB 53 for picks. If the choice was Brady to go elsewhere and not re-up, why on earth wasn't he dealt like Montana?? Kraft has nothing to say. He blew the transition badly.
Tom brady still the goat, both in afc and nfc. 7 of em!!!!

Whatever Malcom Butler did...it made a football lifer like Bill keep one of his best players off the field. A man that bent, and broke rules to win refused to play him. Malcolm did something crazy. it had to be absolutely insane for Bill to risk losing a Bowl.
Not really.
Never been a Bill B fan anyway
I saw a video years ago! About how Bill potentially threw the superbowl bc the power dynamic of Brady and Kraft after the Jimmy G trade. But now adays, with athletes getting in trouble for various reasons- who’s to tell other than the two that won’t speak about it. Good looking, Bill & Malcom Butler
Malcom was a decent CB who made one great play. He did not cost the Pats the Super Bowl we got out played. One Qb caught the ball one Qb didn’t. That’s pretty much how it sums up. And to all those who say they took advantage of Rowe being out there the game plan was already set to take advantage of that position. Cause they seen Butler as the weaker link.

Should have been fired for benching your best defensive player in the superbowl. Especially for personal reasons
Best? He was torched by Cory Davis in the divisional. Mr. February, Dont'a Hightower was hurt. Edelman was out. Chung went own after shutting out Ertz for a half. Butler was nowhere near NE's best defensive player. Trey Flowers, Gilmore, McCourty, Chung, etc, were all better players with how they were used on those teams. You're clueless.
@@afmartin2734 your bring up him getting beat by one player. One time. He was the reason why he won the last Super Bowl he went to. Every player you just named has been beat before and has had bad games. You don’t understand football. And then to talk like you’re so knowledgeable. Just ignorant
Here's a wild take. Maybe it had something to do with gambling. The organization found out and Bill decided he can't play.
This can't be true because Malcolm technically played on special teams on a few plays in that SB. He was not barred from taking the field by the organization or anything like that.
Marcus Coleman is a scrub.
E-A-G-LE-S!!!! Keyshawn you still A punk .......
If Malcom writes the books BENCHED it will be a #1 seller. I would use that book to expose Bill and to tear down his legacy. Bill is not the man we all think he is. Was Bill great in New England or was it Tom Brady. Tom left and proved his greatness. Bill did nothing after Tom left.
Malcolm Butler quit on the team. I thought this was old news. As a veteran player said after the game "he knew why he wasn't starting". THe flew out on a separate plane an told the defensive coaches to F of when he arrived. The crying thing I think just sealed his fate with the team unable to trust he was mentally together and couldn't be trusted. It's not why they lost. Butler was bad down the stretch and got torched by Cory Davis in the divisional round. Butler never got over the fact he wasn't deserving of #1CB money and he just couldn't stay focused down the stretch. That's the reality. He wasn't getting the extension. In 2017, Brady was running a quiet mutiny, too. People forget about this. Dion Lewis, Amendola, etc, all were expecting huge new contracts, along with Butler. Maybe if Bademosi makes the tackle on that 3rd down in the 2nd half on Agholor, after the Chung injury, MAYBE NE wins. NE was down Hightower, too. Huge, huge part of that D on top of Edelman being out as well. Those are huge losses. Of course, Brady dropped a trick play would be TD and then fumbled on the last drive to win the game, so this obsessing over Butler means little. Weird fixation by some people 7 years later.
That's a bold face lie and you no it. We all know the real reason

How does nobody understand prior to the start of that season belichick wanted to get rid of Brady and move forward with garapolo, kraft said absolutely not and made belichick keep Brady. bill resented Kraft and Brady for that, felt undermined and threw the superbowl. His logic was i dont care how much you love Brady the team cant win unless i let them. Which is why Brady threw for 505 yards the most ever in superbowl or playoff history and belichicks defense lost to a back quarterback nick foles. Thats why he sat malcom down.
Y'all know Bill messing with young chics and that's all I'm gonna say 🤔

I think bill like that meat and Malcolm Butler ain't want to give him that meat
Then Nick Foles threw for like 500 yards. Worst mistake of Belichicks career. Threw a winnable SB away because WHY?
Cuz he was mad at Kraft for not letting him trade Brady and start Jimmy G
@@quiksix25 Umm, no. NE allowed 3 points in the SB the very next year. BB was also fine with keeping Brady on a 2 year deal in 2020 at 25 mil per. Kraft was the one who made the final decision. The story is really WHY didn't Kraft allow BB to deal Brady after SB53? They would have gotten 2 1st rd picks. Kraft had an unhealthy love for Brady which affected the decision making.
