Such a great song. Still baffels me to this day why these guys aren't as popular outside of Canada as they should be.
They haven't had a lot of popularity in the US market for sure, but they do well in Canada, and near as I can tell they do well in Europe. Germany in particular really really likes them.
@@operative2136 I'm from the US and they randomly came on a mix I had going two months ago. Never heard of them before, and now they're one of my favs. Insane they never "made" it here. Their style doesn't really fit the US radio market, tho, which is a shame.

One of the best rhythm sections in rock music. So underrated. A groovy blend of punk and metal canvases for Ian to always shred the coolest riffs ever! I love this band so much

@@liammiddleton3064 Stop motion is an animation technique in which every frame is a picture of objects. It takes thousands of pictures to complete a long animation like this with the stop motion technique.

Two of my favourite bands that just happen to be Canadian are Billy Talent from Mississauga, ON & Bobnoxious from London, ON. Congrats on your Juno award!

These visuals remind me a lot of Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009), directed by Wes Anderson--but it looks more real. Darker colour palette and less brightness, too. This goes well with the sound, style, and subject matter of the song. @BillyTalentBand have been releasing life-changingly good music for twenty years now, and they still sound lightyears ahead of their time. I love it.

@@jimmycyr1031 I believe it has to do with CZcams updating everyone's viewership and subscriptions. People who just click subscribe without visiting their channel or content within a range of time get removed from subscription. And I imagine it goes the same way for people who watch only a minimum amount of seconds on a video, affecting the true number of people who've watched it. I imagine it also has to do with CZcams having a limited number of views in display. In order to not have to get into billions, trillions, they cut down equally on people who haven't recently watched the content, and therefor the balance remains. Also with how music works today, I imagine BT isn't exactly on the top of everyone's minds in comparison to other artists and genres.
Billy Talent are one of my favourite bands and I just realised this album was out about 3 years later. lol.

This is an awesome song. I have been hearing a lot of Billy Talent's music on the radio lately, and this one stands out the most for me, and that is saying something, since every one that I've heard so far is really good. This song is definitely working its way into my top ten songs list.

They found an abandoned russian ship heading towards The Brittish Isles 2014 with no crew and filled with rats that ate each other. They use this as a metaphor for a nation. The nation is a ghost ship and the society is feeding more and more off the new generations.

Man BT can be soooo good. I know they're already famous musicians lol but they are still underrated. I remember when I first heard of them was when Try Honesty came out. They had such a great spastic sound that you can definitely hear in this one. Always loved the guitarist too. His style is as spastic as the singer at times and complements and completes the sound in that way, but also hits like a truck when it needs to. That damn opening riff for example. It's deceptively simple but works so well.

Okay but just in case y'all didn't know: there is an actual ship infested with cannibal rats floating somewhere in the....Pacific ocean I think, which this song is probably partially based on. It's a really fascinating (and terrifying) story though so y'all should definitely read up on it
No wait, it's the Atlantic. Anyways basically, it was being towed somewhere, the towline broke, and the ship (which had no people on board btw) got away and is now floating aimlessly in the Atlantic. The rats onboard, with nothing else to eat and no way to escape, have had to resort to cannibalism in order to survive. And because they've been cannibalizing and living in their own feces and etc, they have like a bunch of diseases and stuff and now authorities are lowkey terrified of the day it will reach landfall in either the UK or Ireland, because it might very well cause an epidemic

The intro sounds like the beginning of Covered in Cowardice. I like Billy Talent 1 and 2 more. They are more energetic. The followings have a different sound and are like more pessimistic. And this one sounds like the ones when they started making music as Billy Talent so i loved it :))
