Enjoy and thank you for your support! In 2020, The Smithereens celebrate their 40th Anniversary and 40th continuous year as a band! Be well!
Just found this gem. What a wonderful surprise to see Jim and Dennis perform again. With big talents like Robin and Graham Maby, it is heartening to know that "The Smithereens" live on! RIP Pat, I feel you smiling down on the boys. (It's just not the same without your distinctive voice.)
I don't know who was having more fun - me watching or the guys playing! And Happy 40th Anniversary to The Smithereens!
I happened on this by accident, now I feel like an insider. Luv u all be well !!!! Be free!!!
What a great concert! What a fun time. I’m a long time Smithereens fan, but also since the earliest days of Joe Jackson, so seeing Graham Maby is truly a treat. Robin is a fantastic singer and seeing him sing the Gin Blossoms is icing on the cake!
That Rickenbacker guitar is beautiful and awesome and I want it but only wish I could play it like Jim B. Truly I don’t deserve it. Sounds so good when he plays it!
Sounds amazing
I'm sure that's his original 340 in burgandyglow that he had in the 80's
Doug Hopkins, Pat DiNizio, rest in peace.
Cheers
Pat was one of the nicest people I have ever had the privilege of meeting in the music industry...may he continue to sleep in peace🙏
@@Subwayguy98 never met him, seen them a few times when I still lived back east. I wanted them to come out here to Az last year for a show in a club that was show casing anniversary bands. Damn the rona that killed my concerts this season.
Skal my friend
I do miss Smithereens,
WOW, just came upon this... what a treat! I expected Graham Maby to do the 'Mesaros shuffle' while playing that fast bass fill on 'A Girl Like You'!
Nobody can replace Pat, but Robin has a hauntingly beautiful voice as well, and his different delivery really, really works well.
What an incredibly passionate invigorating set.
Much love for the Smithereens from Western New York State!!
Jim can still kickass on guitar! Love the concert!
RIP PDIZ, you are missed! Thank you Smithereens for continuing this wonderful musical journey!
For you people who don't know Graham, you need to listin to the first 2 Joe Jackson albums Look Sharp and I'm the Man. He is BADASS on the bass.
I agree Tommy D!!! IMO Graham was, during the time which you mentioned, The Best Bassist in rock/pop/punk etc. He actually played the lead part with his bass guitar while with Joe Jackson, another of my all time favorites. Seems that the late 70's thru the 80's was a premier time for Punk/Garage Style Rock.
I had been playing bass for maybe a year when my first band decided that we needed to add some "Look Sharp" songs to the set. That was work.
@@senormedia Congrats to you and your mates for taking up the challenge. Joe Jackson is a superb writer, as well as a performer, and his songs can be complex but you'll be the better for learning/mastering them!
there are many out there listening who may not have commented. Listened and appreciated then and now. Thank you . Have to add that "discovered" Gin Blossoms and the Smithereens at the same time.
Awesome from East Tennessee !!! Wow Jim looks like John Wayne!!
My God - I'm Playing my bass along with this. Cut Flowers was amazing. thank you for the show.
Brings me back to the 80s when a friend in northeast Tennessee turned me on to the Smithereens. I played your music over and over. “A Girl Like You” - a great way to end this Buffalo concert. Love from Hampton Roads
Smitherines and Gin Blossoms 2 of my favourites Coming from my Hometown Strong island Behind a wall of sleep Jennifer.
Hello from North Carolina! love Long Island, and this legendary band...A Girl Like You inspired me to learn to play the drums! Thanks Mr. Dikin and hope to see y’all live!
Strangers when we meet makes me think of my youth in the 60’s, bless you guys for the rock.
As if Robin Wilson wasn’t cool enough already he wears a sleeveless shirt featuring Godzilla. If that is not the definition of awesome I don’t know what is ( promise not being sarcastic). Love Gin Blossoms and Smithereens! This video makes me very happy every time I watch it👍🏻😁
Totally awesome 👏 One of the best bands of the 80s! RIP Pat DiNizio
Dang Jim should be lead singer now. Does great.
I agree
Thanks for not going the route of some bands and trying to find a new singer that sounds just like the original. That's always seemed wrong to me. Pat was awesome. Robin is awesome, and makes these songs his own, yet respectful of Pat. I love that.
Trudat!
Jim has a great voice.
So many awesome songs, Pat will live on through his music!! And Jim is playing his RIC 340, best tone ever!
Robin Wilson's voice is so clear and bright. It would be interesting to have a Smithereens "greatest hits" with his voice. Not to be better than Pat's but just to hear the difference. It certainly has a more folk sound.
Love the Zonie flag Robin. We're watching out here too. Congrats guys on the induction. R.I.P. Pat and Doug. Skal
Also gotta say Dennis Diken is essential to the Smithereens and pretty much irreplaceable 👍🏻 Cool dude!
What a refreshment watching & listening to this! Wish we did this kinda thing in my neighborhood... Rock-on Guys!! Bugger Bill
Loved stumbling across this show today. It sounds great!
As a bassist the low mix of Graham's amp hurts, but it happens. I'm just glad musicians are staying busy.
Always enjoyed the sounds, especially the bends, that JIm extracts from his Rickenbacker. So soothing, so classic rock, like a mild sedative. Thanks Jim so glad you've stuck with it over the decades.
Holy Shit ....this was awesome!!! Thank you for posting Robin! Love all who were on the "stage"!!❤ what a special treat to come across this 😊 may God bless you all and I hope ur brother is doing better as well. 🤗🎸🤘🏼
17 minutes into watching.... loving it
These guys are somewhere around my age. Love The Gin Blossoms and the Smithereens! So cool to see these guys still rocking and having fun and sounding great👍🏻 First time seeing this. Love it!
Also God bless the Smithereens! Miss you Pat! Robin has got your back though and it’s all respect and love👍🏻
Fantastic show guys! From a Greek Smithereens' fan ever since the 80's!
Hey. Greek American from Brooklyn
Awesome! And Timely.
Blood and Roses ... speechless.
Wow. Jim has a great voice
Here for the Smithereens, but ... Graham Maby?!?!? one of the best bassists of all time
Wow just discovered this January 20th, 2022!
just found this and its fking awesome thank you! Parts of 3 of my fave bands of all time
Awesome!! Thank You, Gentleman!!
Great ! Fantastic ! .one of the best band into my world.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks from Almeria (España) where Clint Eastwood self-made an actor.yes right here .See you Pat.
I didn’t have a big brother to take me to shows on his shoulders, but goddamn I felt that this was so.
Singer did a good job 👍
Gin Blossoms were huge in the 90's ...
I LOVE THIS....Real music.
Outstanding!
Love yesterday girl
Dennis should’ve had a kit set up, would’ve made this gig even cooler
If only you knew how much joy finding this has brought me.
Thanks for sharing!
Brings back so many good memories. I've been a fan from the beginning class of 86"

Just finished watching/playing along _ incredible show. Thank you so much.
So jealous I wasn’t there. Such a good time and incredible music. So glad it’s on video for all of us who couldn’t be there!
I just adore this.
Bubba smithereens, Luna by Ben during eternity music error. I played bass guitar and I just been fell in love with them completely as a band a group this was a big surprise
Excellent
I wanna live in this neighborhood
Thanks guys! Watching in Indiana.
Awesome guys! Watching from Baker, Louisiana
What a great video from the front yard!! One of my favorite bands.
Pat lives on.
Graham was great with Marshall Crenshaw on his killer fourth album. Lots of talent in that yard
Dennis rockin out on the leg drum:)
Hey Jealousy leading into Smithereens tunes? How crazy cool is this?
Dennis didn't have at least a snare in his garage? :)
I would have liked more bass. Killer set!
Where was this?
Why was Robin not playing rhythm guitar on Bloody Noses ?
Still perfect tone, eh Jim? ✌️
Wait a minute they live together?
Curious, where was this at? Arizona flag, but homes don't look like there.
Long Island
Robin-check Pat's lyrics before you sing a Smithereens song:
I want to love, but it comes out wrong...
I need your love, but it comes out wrong
NOT- I need your love, but I don't have long...
It's: I want to live, but I don't belong
I tried to live but I don't belong
Not enough tattoos on the singer.
Too bad the guitars are not in tune with each other. I don't even think Jim's guitar is in tune with itself.
stop just stop
