I like it that she is using मत instead of धर्म for religion. She uses the correct Hindi/Sanskrit term, unlike most Indians.
Because that's how southern languages are buddy...this has got nothing to do with other northern people not using proper sanskrit words. Languages give rise to sub languages and dialects over a period of time and the words we use today are obviously altered versions of those proper words only

I was in Mysore for my son speech problem ....there are many Muslim families with disabilities living there , we are Kerala Hindus ....we were talking to a Muslim family the mother had cleft lip problem , the father had some deformity in one hand may be sort of CP their all 3 kids had some disability which wwas not visible we thought the 3 rd kid had autism for which they came there. Their elder son was talking with us , becoz there most kids who came there were non verbal or limited verbal but this kid was talking he must 8 grade he said he is doing MA I found strange but then someone said he has mental retardation ....he asked me what religion I am , 8 said Hindu ....he started saying hindus are bad ....etc i was suprised, his mother tried to stop him saying and said sheepishly he has mental retardation .i was suprised these Muslims teach this to disabled kids so this normal talk in their homes ....and the6 were there availin* free therapies from Indian govt all the therapis5 teachers are mainly Hindus . These Muslims many working in gulf said in gulf countries mostly free therapies are fo4 citizens lots of wait list and there also therapist mostly Indian Hindus o4 christians but the Muslims inside have hatred for everything non muslim
