After 8 years the battery won't deplete 100%. It may go down to 70-80%.

Nice explanation. Petrol 13 per km and EV 6.25 per km Daily Saving in EV =6.75.
If you travel 100 km per day..
6.75×100 = 675 (You can save 675 rupees per day).
    675×30 days = 20,250 per month.
Invest 20250 per month for 60 months (5 years) at 12% pa...
    Principal amount
    20250 made over 60 monthly
    installments, compounded yearly at 12%
    interest rate.
    Total Investment: 1215000
    Maturity Value: 1642348.15, Interest
    Earned: 427348.15.
After 5 years, you will have 1642348 rupees in your hand.
Now please tell me which is better.
After 5 years, sell EV and Petrol cars for 500000 each. EV car owner will have 2,142,948 (1,642,948+500,000) and Petrol Car owner will have 500000 in hand. EV car owner can new car with amount.
Note : Petrol price will get increased over next 60 months, but if you invest 1 lack for solar power your daily expenditure will become zero. You can invest this amount also.

      That's typical minded PPL scenarios.
As per his brain i can suggest like below.
Buy a 2nd hand Suzuki Zen for 1lakh which gives 25kmpl per ltr and invests 14L.😂
Else viewer would buy a cycle and invest a total 15L as an investment.
Conclusion: diff PPL with diff mentality. EVs for pure satisfaction & luxury.

Few points I felt like adding
    1. Battery life is just an assumption, the more we use the early it dies and milage(storage capacity needs frequent charging) may also drain out early and accidents may effect the battery life. Don't know if it is covered in the insurance.
    2. The cost of the batteries are going to increase with time(experts opinion) and if the government takes off the subsidies then also cost will increase.
    3. The repair and maintenance costs are unknown
Apart from the financial aspects there are lot of safety concerns and practical difficulties , can we match the Electricity production if 20% of our vehicles become battery operated.
Can we become self sufficient for the battery and other crucial components of the EV. If it make us
more dependent on China will it be a wise decision.
According to me clean hydrogen is the future and EVs are just transit technologies
    Sorry for the lengthy comment.

Going forward, may be batteries cost may reduce but power unit price will increase. Big people always find ways to make us spend one or other way. My opinion both vehicles make us spend the same amount one or otherway. The Sigma rule is, if people are saving money on a product, then one or other manufacturer losing profit

I think everyone here has the wrong understanding about EV battery replacement. There is no need to replace a battery even after eight years. Thinking about battery problems and maintenance it is literally zero. I’ve been using battery cars from last 9yrs even when I was in the US. In worst-case you will be replacing cells inside the battery which cost roughly around Rs.3000 per cell. As Krishna rightly pointed, You do not need bigger battery. When I brought the car that is only one charging station from Hyderabad to my hometown. But now there 8 stations. I don’t use them single time even if I go for a long drive to my hometown or elsewhere Because I always charge at home and then leave.

based on above calculation for 1.6lakh kms, per km 7.5rs total is 12lakh rupees for petrol. For ev vehicle per km is 1.5rs total is 2.4lakh for 1.6lakh kms. The difference in running cost is 9lakh, 60 more for petrol vehicle compare to ev vehicle. With that we can replace two batteries for ev along with comfort driving.

Not sure what parameters showroom guys considered and mentioned 250 as the range but 90% of the Nexon EV max owners get close to 300 atleast
Not to forget no one will have ~5l in hand while buying a car even if they have they would use it for down payment.

Tata is giving warranty on the battery for 8 years or 1.6k km that is 20000km per annum on average. The petrol cost is around 7.5 rs per km on average that is 1.5 lakh rupees for 20k kms. Electricity cost is 1.5 rs per km that is 30k for 20k kms. It means we can save 1.2 lakh rupees per year. Service is also very less compared to petrol vehicle. There was a tax deduction on emi also. We can save more than 8lakhs for eight years. We can replace the battery easily with it. Beside that the driving comfort of ev is very good especially in the city as it is automatic and has instant pickup. It is very easy for women also as it won't give stress in heavy traffic. We will travel more on weekends within 120km from the city in ev than petrol vehicle. This is based on our personal experience. Happily go for ev if you travel atleast 1200 per month. You won't regret it.
