The 3.5km long fissure that opened Saturday night, 16th of March, is now changing into craters. As the eruptive turbulence has been fairly stable, it is an indication that the power of the eruption has not decreased 🌋
Lava now flows towards the south coast, further away from the town of Grindavík, thanks to defence walls built for its protection.
