    Nice rig. Tri-fold in the roof box really frees up the space. Too many people squeeze these massive beds into a tiny space and all they really have is a gigantic bed....😉

    Brilliant putting the mattress on the roof! Never would have thought of that. Thanks for making this video. I'm trying to figure out how to get a toilet in there, even just a bucket to use during the night (old lady here up every couple hours LOL). Maybe remove the front passenger seat? And was thinking you could more easily use the front seats if instead of using a curtain, you used black window covers, so nobody could see in?

      @MarcillaSmith Před 2 lety +1

      I have a 2007 HiHy. Good luck finding one right now! FWIW, the battery is under the 2nd row seats, so would not change the layout of this design from the floor up (would only take up some of the underfloor area forward of the brace between the rear shock towers).

    • @AHumanEndeavor
      @AHumanEndeavor  Před 2 lety +7

      It is about 6' front to rear, 3' tire well to tire well and about 3'5" top to bottom. It is small, but if you pack less it is actually roomy "enough". The pics make it look a little bigger,,,,

      Good question. 38 inches. I could think of a couple ways to fit a bike in there. I crammed my vibe cruiser back there last week. But thought a rear hitch mount bike rack would probably be most optimal.

    • @AHumanEndeavor
      @AHumanEndeavor  Před 2 lety +3

      I used an extra piece then I would use it to separate the main area from a loose items/storage space. Truth be told, on my last trip to Montana I didn't even use that extended piece. I wound up using the rear space of the vehicle as is and it worked great for cooking etc...

      Obviously? It's an SUV, not a high top van, RV, or an apartment. By definition it is always going to be vertically cramped. Think of these vehicles more as hard-sided tents for sleeping and with a few more comforts that you are intended to live out of.
