@@zhye5588 it's personal preference and I respect your opinion. But, the fact is that, it got nominated for several Emmy awards and have also won some. And it has an imdb rating of 8.9 and rotten tomato score of 90% (only well written shows has that kind of rating) and the acting, plot and characters are acclaimed by audiences as well as critics.
@@Patrickbatemanharvard dont get me wrong, i did like the 2nd season. But the series is far from the greatest. Maybe its just me but I undervalue Imdb ratings and tomato meter i just use it as an indicator. After all anyone without sense of quality can rate a 10/10 on imdb and tomato meter is just percentage of critics that gave it a 6/10 or higher. Emmys hold no value in my eyes just like oscars its just a Hollywood ppl thing.
@@zhye5588 again I respect your opinion. But the film and television academy consists of 6000 experienced film experts from worldwide and based on their voting the film/tv series is elected as best. And they are far more experienced than any of normal audience and from them what I've learned is that, they do recognize good writing and acting, which are the core elements in a film or tv series. I've found their judgement satisfactory in 8/10 scenarios. And also you've mentioned that anyone can vote 10/10 in Imdb, that's true, but average rating is based on thousands of votings, So I don't think that few reviews can alter the whole system.

Tell them, europeans and latin tv shows are as good as american ones. La casa de las flores, skam, vis a vis, chewing gum, years and years, narcos... just to name a few lmao
European series like Dark and Peep Show are fantastic. Dark is named one of the best works Netflix ever did. Many say Peep Show is a disgusting british show, but is a realistic story of two brits in an original view. At least this two should be a honorable mention.
Oh and Casa de Papel, “Money Heist”, is literally fantastic.
Person Of Interest is top 5 imo. The only negative is it was obvious they were forced to end it quickly. Plot development within plots. Great character development. They had to kill off characters quick due to top execs pulling the plug but they did great with what they had to work with.

Breaking Bad is the perfect Tv show made ever. It just got better and better with every episode and every season. There will never be any other show topping BB.
I got The Sopranos, The Wire and Madmen over Breaking Bad because in my opinion Breaking Bad nothing compares to the first time you watch it but the other 3 tv shows I mentioned get better everytime you rewatch them. I had watched Breaking Bad like 4 times already but it still doesnt compare to the first time I saw it. The Wire, Madmen and Sopranos maybe they didnt improved each season like Breaking Bad but they improved everytime I rewatched them again. Breaking Bad doesnt get worse but it is like a hard drug lol meth, H and crack where it impacts you the first time but you will always chase that amazing feeling. The 3 shows I mentioned are like art.

Much respect you have the Leftovers at #4. I’ve always said it shows the full potential of Lindelof without network restrictions and commercial breaks. Doesn’t have the pop culture fame of Lost, but doesn’t have the plot holes either. Absolute masterpiece.

Try mr robot, dark, Dexter, succession, Alice in borderland, you !! Those are all great shows right there I think you’d like them🤝

Season 1 is among my personal favourites, but afterwards show loses its own prime motive.
It's not a brilliant afterwards.

Happy to see Battlestar Galactica on this list. It was largely ignored due to the earlier show but it is seriously epic.
I want to check it out but it seems insanely long with a bunch of movies in between the show. Is it truly worth watching and does it feel like it goes on forever when watching it?
I personally think one of the best tv shows ever made was NBC's Hannibal it at least deserved an honorable mention. It was way ahead of its time and still to this day a timeless tv show. The writing and cinematography was phenomenal .

It captures the geek and nerd culture beautifully and shows the harsh reality of emerging startups in Silicon Valley. And for Mr. Robot, I don't know how to explain the greatness of the show. It's a genre in itself.

Watched them both, GOT in Season 1-4 I can see WHY people would say it was better than Breaking Bad, though I still prefer Breaking Bad more regardless.

I don't know all the tv shows, watched a few and my favorites are here, except for Vikings. For me Vikings is one of the best, if not top of the list.
It is much more than a historic hack and slash action show. It showcases with great details the life and the philosophies of that time. It is a show of great characters, of ambition, humility, understanding, adventure, exploration and everything that makes us human, full of historical specificities. It is suspenseful, dramatic, philosophical, a game of chess, a romantic saga. It can get tedious at times, given it's length, but oh man, is it glorious.
The writing in Better Call Saul is at times even more impressive than that of Breaking Bad. But I assume it didn't make the list because season 6 isn't out yet.

Shows are considered based on the overall impact they’ve had. Though Better Call Saul has better writing, Breaking Bad has much larger impact on pop-culture.

The Wire will go down in history as a masterpiece.. Unmatched writing and depictions of bureaucratic institutions. I’ve watched the entire series several times and pick-up on something new each time. Also launched some great acting careers. Breaking Bad was fine and, unfortunately, gets compared to The Wire too often. They are completely different shows.

Better call Saul is one of the greatest shows of all time in TV. It is often underrated compared to other shows as it is a sequel (or more accurately a prequel).

One of the most perfect nods to the eccentric underbelly city life and a vocal siren-call of modern feminism-plus just consistently hilarious and charming. It is easily a top 5 series this century. But this is Mojo who would put Friends as being the best series in the last decade. All they care is popular opinion, not quality.
_Deadwood_ absolutely deserves its spot here, and deserves to be on any all-time list. The writing, acting, direction, every aspect is absolutely sublime and the frequent description as "Shakespearean" is spot-on.
But, one nitpick... _Chappelle's Show_ as the "most important sketch comedy show of all time"? _Monty Python's Flying Circus_ would like a word.

Surprised Sons of Anarchy didn’t make it. And Prison Break
To me the Leftovers and Breaking Bad are tied for number one. BB was awesome but The leftovers was something special...for such a short series, it had more WTF? moments than any other show I've seen. Both are infinitely re-watchable.

Lost was my obsession. I sooo loved that show. The Wire kinda broke me inside for awhile.

Hannibal is, hands down, has the best writing I've ever seen in a TV show. I haven't even finished it and I'm amazed with how good it is.

I’m not arguing with this list, but I’m here to make some recommendations! The 100 s1-4, The OA, hand maids tale, FEAR TWD, last of us, queen of the south, BANSHEE, warrior,are all some of my re watchable favs not mentioned. A couple of these are lacking in later seasons.. but the first several seasons are great. Also HTGAWM is a secret fav of mine because viola Davis is bomb.

But I and some others on the web agree that it's the most raw piece of entertainment depicting the human experience. It literally is art personified. And for that aspect is deserves the highest praise because it deviates from other shows. It doesn't have to have the most spectacular twists and writing. It just is breathtakingly majestic in it's simplicity and rawness

The Wire isn't just a TV show; it's art. Still my favorite all time, but I understand that Breaking Bad and Sopranos were more commercially recognized. All three are in my top five. Surprised that Boardwalk Empire didn't crack the top 20 though...

I'd take a lot of the stuff out towards the end and add Boardwalk Empire, Sons of Anarchy, Dark, Mr.Robot & without a doubt Better Call Saul.
The 100 was one of my favorite shows a few years back, I’d recommend for anyone lookin for a immersive world in a show 🤷♂️ also has very interesting character development

It's great seeing The Leftovers so high. A very underrated piece of television, especially seasons 2 and 3.
honestly thought it'd be higher than BB.. 'Certified' is the best piece of art I have ever seen among both movies and TV. HBO truly made some great shows.. The Wire, The Leftovers, Sopranos, Watchmen, Chernobyl, GoT (first few seasons), Curb, SFU.. etc.

So, me being me, I added up every episode rating and divided it by the number of episodes to get an average and it makes for a very interesting read. I only looked at the following shows and ranked them from highest to lowest.

Breaking Bad had a rating of 9.43 for its final season (16 episodes) and is the only series with an episode rated 10/10 (Ozymandias). Mr. Robot had a rating of 9.32 for its final season (13 episodes). Game of Thrones had an average of 9.06 if we exclude the final season. The final season of Game of Thrones had an average of 6.33 (6 episodes).
I've excluded Chernobyl as this is a miniseries with only 5 episodes and should rather be compared to shows like Band of Brothers, The Pacific, etc. However, one of the best shows that I've watched with an average rating of 9.60 across the 5 episodes.

Vikings (2013) ?? Perhaps it didn't make the list because it's loosely based on reality- but it mostly is a scripted drama & remains my favourite TV show.
Other honourable mentions: Narcos, The Last Kingdom, Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, Peaky Blinders, Bates Motel & IMO the most UNDERRATED TV SHOW OF ALL TIME Banshee.
