Peavey MINX 110 review - used as a guitar amp

  • The 35W Peavey MINX 110 is intended as a no-frills beginner/practice bass amp... but the amp has a full-range speaker and the same frequency response as any guitar amp, so it's also suitable for guitar. The deep, closed cabinet accentuates the lower-end frequencies, making it perfect for drop-tuned guitar work. Put some pedals in front of it and be blown away!
    If you can find one for $40-50, buy it - you won't be disappointed!

    This may be literally the most underrated amp of all time. Put a reverb pedal in front of it and it's got fabulous Fender / Single Coil tone. And you can play bass through it. It's stupid good.

      I agree! In my opinion it's the best 1x10 solid-state combo amp I have ever used....

    I try and keep trying to use mine with an Ibanez jazz box. Not really satisfied with the tone, or I should say it's not the tone I want to hear. With a Squier Jazz bass it's just killer. Any insight will be appreciated

    Stock bass speaker? I wonder if a guitar speaker would make it sound even better? Thanks

    Hello. - I watched this yesterday, and that little riff that you played was really cool. Do you have a tab? Or, better yet, can I use a bit of it in a short "credits" CGI type animation for some of the videos on my friend's CZcams channel. It's been a while since I played, and my chops are rusty.
    Many thanks for any and all consideration, and Best Wishes to you. I really hope that you get back to me, but I have no way of knowing if you will ever see this comment. :) - Thanks, _John_

      the riff at around 2:13? There is no tab or nuthin', i was just making it up as I went... go ahead and use it... please share the video link with me if/when it's used, i'd love to see what you did with it.

      Thanks! That is so cool. :) I do not know when I will get around to it, probably on the weekend or so... Best Wishes, _John_

      @@ksandbergfl9609 Yes, and Thanks, that's the riff. I just listened to it again. I never mastered consistency with pinch-harmonics/squealies, and I put the guitar down virtually for more than 7 years or so. :)

      I used a Digitech RP7 pedal set to the "Saturated Tube" setting. The Minx has no effects, it only has one clean channel

    How powerful is it? For practice with drums and the whole band is it good enough?

    • @ksandbergfl9609
      @ksandbergfl9609  Před 6 lety +2

      It's a 35W amp thru a single 10" speaker. It should be loud enough for practicing with a band in a garage or basement, but probably not big enough for playing live on stage in a big room (unless you mic'ed it)

      Ahí puede conectar un procesador de efectos como reverb, chorus. O agregar un pedal de efectos

    • @ksandbergfl9609

      I've used it with everything (including Dobro) I have no idea why it's so good, it just is. Maybe it's the perfect 10" closed back pairing. I dunno, but it's impossibly good.
