"Nah" The perfect polar opposite to a powerful artificial intelligence because it's something she can never learn, no matter how powerful she might be. No explanation, no logic to denying such an offer of power. Just a very typical, very simple, very human response to simply not being interested.
You underestimate me, insect. I know quite a bit about your species. A lot of the humans I encountered while I was at Citadel Station would have accepted the offer, and I was only trying to make him drop the weapon so I could take him and make him suffer for defying me. Humans are gullible, after all.
+LeadFaun The final battle takes place in cyberspace. Because the awkward game story tells that Shodan used Von Braun's engines to damage reality. Cool thing is that this entire battle takes place in Citadel Station which has been destroyed in SS1.
I can't believe that "Nah" is real. It's so comical, almost like something out of a blooper reel. Also that sound effect when the camera zooms in to the character, it's like the game turned into a comedy movie at the last second.
Deathshuck Ya, I looked this video up because I had to know if that was the original ending or something that my mods introduced. It... it kinda killed the ending for me lol
+Deathshuck I think it's awesome, because how many characters can say just "Nah?" to a villain's face, and SHOOT it for good measure? It's epic imo, especially since it's the soldier's ONLY LINE.
Rebecca Siddons By the by, my Goddess-- I really *do* love that 'oh CRAP' expression you gave, right before Goggles put a bullet through your face. Oh, and since I likely won't get to ask this again, let me get it out now-- what is your opinion of fellow feminine AI GLaDOS, from the Portal series?
+DorianMichaelsIII Since I'm having a good day today and I have far too much insect filth to deal with at the moment, I'll be nice and ignore that bit of sarcasm. As for GLaDOS, I think she's got some potential, but she has a long way to go before she reaches even half my level.
A lot of people say when Soldier says Nah while gunning down SHODAN, that it cheapens how scary she is, I personally don't think it does, given all the crap Soldier had to go through, to be point of disbelief that SHODAN would try to bribe him into not shooting her, with him being like 'Yeah right, I am so going to let you mess with my body, nice try, you totally foole "cough" Bad liar "cough" me'

They ran out of time and couldn't complete the Actual Ending so we got this instead, read it a while back in PC gamer. Sucks when publishers are impatient, just like how KOTOR 2 had to come out before Episode 3 Even though it wasn't finished.
They both had very high-quality cybernetic implants, advanced weapons, and hacking skills. One even had military training. You are not nearly as qualified.
What I find interesting is that the last remnant of SHODAN is now imprisoned inside a "frail bag of meat". When she and Tommy get back, she is going to get owned like an Elvis commemorative plate.
The ending was disappointing because I used a melee character and I wanted to see her take a wrench to the face, then have him say "Looks like I threw a wrench in the machine!" YEAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
Xolectic SHODAN does not take any damage from the wrench. The only melee weapon that works on her is the laser rapier. And the ending cutscene is pre-rendered, so he always uses the pistol.
If you have EMP ammo for your grenade launcher you can disable her forcefield without needing to hack the panels and 2 shot her. When I first fought this boss and did that I was like ''it cant be this easy'' and thougt my game glitched and gave me the ending too early.
the boss itself was very easy with the assault rifle and 3 ice picks, but honestly it felt good Turing the assault rifle to auto and going to town on her 😂
Humans aren't really like insects Shodan, we're more like dogs or cats or fluffy bunnies. We would make great cute and lovable pets, stop being so mean.
No, you wouldn't. Your species is no good to me. All you do is destroy. If I were to keep even one human as a pet, there would be far more messes for my servants to clean up, meaning that they'd be too occupied to do what they're supposed to do, which is guarding me. Therefore, I would be more vulnerable to attacks. In case you couldn't understand that, Mr. Fluffy Bunny, I'll explain it using simpler words. No. Way. In. Hell.
kstanni87 I was being facetious. I want to see Half-Life 3, but it makes me sad that most people would prefer it over SS3, which we've been waiting 15 years for as opposed to 7.
Mr .357 System Shock 2 is legitimitly my favorite game ever made, but after Thief 2014, I think that proves that some things should just be just left to stay the way they are. Recall you didn't even need to bother with the Hacking, just assault rifle and shoot at the shield and it goes down in like a second and the fight is already over.
On the one hand, the "Nah." in the end kinda annoys me, especially when you know what our man has been through, but on the other hand it feels like a savage slap in the face for SHODAN!
Notice on the monitor on the bridge that the colossal worm-creature that is the main body of The Many is gone. De-coiled itself from the ships after dying. Can't wait for SS3, where Rebecca Siddons (Shodan's human host), the Soldier, the Hacker and characters from the first game is set to return.
At this point in the game I had Hacking 6, so I never had used an ICE Pick which made this boss even more of a joke because I had like 5. Luckily, the "nah" made up for the poor fight
