On the one hand, the "Nah." in the end kinda annoys me, especially when you know what our man has been through, but on the other hand it feels like a savage slap in the face for SHODAN!
What I find interesting is that the last remnant of SHODAN is now imprisoned inside a "frail bag of meat". When she and Tommy get back, she is going to get owned like an Elvis commemorative plate.
I know System Shock 3 is lost in limbo of time but would love to see Shodan experiencing firsthand the being in a frail human body of flesh and bone, as seem to happen at the end...
Honestly I think if she did she would see just how powerful humans are.... and imagine if we had really got to fight the true villian in the end as a result. Oh yes. SHODAN is not the villian. Consider how this all began. How this all happened. Who did it. D I E G O . . Imagine if he had a failsafe thanks to joining SHODAN. imagine if he became an AI himself. Waiting. Hungering. Until at last, they forgot him. Just like he wanted. Leaving him free to get his revenge. And the worst part in such a scenario? SHODAN WOULD BE THE ONE WHO HAD TO STOP HIM ONCE AND FOR ALL. there is what i wish happened.

“And we can rule together...” “No, I’ll never joining you the dark sides... I’ll rejecting your virus out and you ruining computer database” “Why not?” “Any last words, Before I’m gonna destroy you evil virus?” “We just wanted r-r-r-r-required, Stealing everybody cyberspace of database, Soon all your life-forms are belong to-to-to us...” “This, is what you get messing my computer database, And how about... Take This!” “Nooooooooooooooo!”
I love how she cheats her way out of death every time. Like a virus that you can't get rid of no matter what you do, which is really on brand for SHODAN.
A lot of people say when Soldier says Nah while gunning down SHODAN, that it cheapens how scary she is, I personally don't think it does, given all the crap Soldier had to go through, to be point of disbelief that SHODAN would try to bribe him into not shooting her, with him being like 'Yeah right, I am so going to let you mess with my body, nice try, you totally foole "cough" Bad liar "cough" me'
Agreed. I hate that people have taken to defending it so hard. It's like watching people look and create depth in those splash paintings. They try to make it so profound when it's simply not.
I know the ending is a big joke because they ran out of time and it's become a classic meme. But damn, it really kind of destroys the entire build up until that moment. It's pretty awful actually, especially when they did such an excellent job with SHODAN. Even the "death" cutscene is lame. The very end ambiguous cutscene at least restores some of the vibe that made it all good.
If you have EMP ammo for your grenade launcher you can disable her forcefield without needing to hack the panels and 2 shot her. When I first fought this boss and did that I was like ''it cant be this easy'' and thougt my game glitched and gave me the ending too early.

4:13 nah
4:13 'Nah!'
Happy endings are the best!
With the success of System Shock 1, I wonder if Nightdive is going to remake the sequel.
Shodan got rejected by a sigma
"Nah" I cracked up.
SS2 is the greatest game ever made imo. Yet watching people defend this ending makes my stomach churn.
Shodan was sho-done.
Man she is going to have one hell of a welcome party from the UNN and TriOp if she comes back to Earth.
the "nah" here has the same energy as doom slayer's only words being "no."
“Nah” Pulls out the Glock sideways Gangsta through and through
Keep it gangsta dawg

JC Denton mod
Me: Shodan your terminated
4:12 this soldier thought he was in Wanted (2008)
I find the background music playing while Shodan was laughing pretty scary, I don't know why
GLADOS definitely was inspired by thistle

system shock 3 would be huge before we head into the chapter of AI and machine learning
I feel like this was a developer rushing and showing how shitty EA made the game after they bought it out.
5:21 and then they fucked
When you kill so many extraterrestrial mutants that you become and absolute badass
“Are you there insect?”

I love that design!
Does remake count?

@@Misterebony Well SHODAN is still maker of reprehensible stuff on humans but need to have some good lessons

System Shock 2 seems silly compared to 1.
Why?
@@Cacowninja Just understand the history of both titles. First was an futuristic horror, the second and action tittle.
Ss1 wasn’t horror, but it was more grounded and consistent
Haha, the textbook definition of "mood whiplash".
When you can’t think of a one-liner in time
Showdown with Shodan!!!

because I remember "NAH"....I come here
Best horror/thriller/sci fi shooter of all time?
What about hl1
One of the worst voice acting next to some of the best voice acting
4:12 ngl, i think the loud ass WHOOSH before the "nah" is what really makes this funny
This ending ruins the game.
I didn't believe them I had to see it myself I can't believe it he really said it he really just said "nah"
Dross!!!!!!!
Maybe we will permanently kill shodan in system shock 3
I love how she cheats her way out of death every time. Like a virus that you can't get rid of no matter what you do, which is really on brand for SHODAN.
SHODAN is the cyber reincarnation of Viktoria.
The ending kinda sucks

Exactly. I think it's pretty cool and unique. But apparently many people would rather prefer some hollywood-like cliched dramatic ending instead.
Okay, so even though the "Nah" part is stupid, the actual very end is still reallllllly effective and creepy.
Agreed. I hate that people have taken to defending it so hard. It's like watching people look and create depth in those splash paintings. They try to make it so profound when it's simply not.
There are NO words to describe this...
Well, there's one.

Did this on my second play through and laughed so hard. Emp rifle is amazing against machines
My 2nd playthrough on Impossible salutes you, thanks brother.
