    Oxana, thank you so very much for taking the time to share and to teach us how to recreate your beautiful jewellery! I also want to thank you sooo much for doing another gorgeous piece using round wire!! As you mentioned, it's very difficult for many people to find any other wire (for us in Canada, anyway). I would really appreciate it if you would create more jewellery using this wire!
    Thank you, once again! 😊

    Omg. I am always so happy when you come up on my notifications. You are such an amazing artist and so kind to share your amazing gift. I hope I’m not being to personal but I remember over a year ago you were wearing a brace around your Thumb. Did you have carpel tunnel or a strain from wrapping. I’m having issues with mine he never input certain tensions when wrapping. Like I said not being nosy. Just concerned for you v and myself. I’m trying to always use tools now so if I can put our there. Hobbies or not. Always be mindful of your hands. It can be quite painful to nurse these injuries. Thanks again Oxana and so awesome as well living down under.

      A few years back I took a metalsmithing class and did get some pain in my hand, maybe from the hammering or sawing, not sure. Could also be from weaving, because I was doing more woven designs back then. But luckily with some rest it all cleared up

    • @OxanaCrafts

      I don't. I don't make rings very often to be honest so they are not my speciality and I have only a few designs. But there are quite a few prong tutorials here on youtube if you search, perhaps you will find one you like.

    • @OxanaCrafts

      As long as the wires are up on the domed edges of the stone, it will hold it in place.

    I'm a newbie at this and I found that that band was really easy but getting the stone to stay in the setting was a bugger! Maybe it's because I used an oval stone?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  Před rokem

      Trapping the stone in is the hardest part, some people glue it down first

  • @viridian4388
    @viridian4388 Před rokem

    How do you make sure the wire wrapping on the side doesn't ride up to pop the cabochon out? Because unless you lock down the bezel round, it will. And in the video you haven't.
    So that's a lot of potentially lost cabochons there.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  Před rokem

      I think this is why people often will use half-hard wire for rings, to make the wires stronger so it is much harder to move them out of place. I used dead-soft in this video because I find half-hard too tough to work with, but you are right there is always that risk if you are not careful with it and bang it on something the wires could potentially move out of place loosening the stone. Wire wrapped jewelry does tend to be a bit more fragile and require more care.

  • @lauriedanforth7533
    @lauriedanforth7533 Před rokem

    Would you entertain the idea of a drop of E600, or a drop of super glue on the band, just to hold the tiny cabochon in place while wire wrapping it???

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  Před rokem +1

      Yes you could definitely do that, not sure if you can do it safely with all stones, but most should be fine
