- The Grind Waterfowl TV crew heads to central Oklahoma to duck hunt with Grindstone Outfitters. It's January and the weather has turned cold and lots of water is beginning to freeze up. Late season duck hunting can be tough but the crew has some great hunts!

Yup - nothing like standing on your tippy-toes and using a branch to try and retrieve a fallen duck on the ice. Once you finally get that duck moving your way you relax a little and come down off those tippy-toes just long enough to be reminded of why you were up there in the first place and you let out a strange high-pitch gasp that you didn’t know you were capable of making which sends your hunting buddies into convulsive bouts of “stop-you’re gonna’-make-me-pee” laughter. A few minutes (and expletives) later you’ve returned to the blind with your solitary mallard in hand, peeled yourself out of your waders and have started a small fire to warm yourself by (because your hunting buddies are still unable to stand or even sit upright) and you finally start to get warm when one of your buddies asks helpfully, “Hey, Bob - isn’t that your shotgun hanging in that tree out in the lake where you found that branch?” You force yourself back into your wet waders (‘cause your buddies are still less than useless) and slog back to the tree, grab your gun and remember too late that your gloves are wet as they freeze to your barrel such that when you pull your hand away the bluing comes with it. Yup - January waterfowling in Oklahoma is awesome (ask me how I know)…
