I like how so many of these comments say "Stop talking politics and stick to the music"... Uh... It's Pink Floyd! You know, the band that wrote "Us & Them", "The Fletcher Memorial Home", "A Great Day for Freedom" and especially "Pigs" (where he name checks Mary Whitehouse)? I think Guy's comment was quite diplomatic compared to so many other videos out there.
Keep it up Guy, loving these vids. P.S. I might contact you about possibly giving your "One of These Days" video a cameo in my upcoming Pink Floyd album reviews series. Would gladly invite you on to discuss any of them?

Waters's bass playing in the early days really was excellent. i know he eventually started saying things like "i was never a bass player" but damn dude, so many of his early riffs are just super melodic, all-over-the-place and bouncy

My first introduction to Pink Floyd was the completely bonkers Relics album, that went missing a few years ago during a house move (well, break up actually.)

Will have to source the Tab for See Emily Play etc….
Thank you for essentially laying down the unintended challenge.

Long story… stick with me. Back in April Covid almost killed me - a month in a medically-induced coma wasn’t how I planned to spend the start of spring. However, thanks to the NHS I lived [just about] but the autoimmune response trigger by the virus induced an arthritic reaction in my hands. After 45 years of mindless twanging I can no longer play guitar. However, I can still play bass, my first instrument... hence me being here on this channel. Keep posting… and if I’m ever down in Brighton the drinks are on me.

Any more Toy Matinėe?... Just thought I'd add my thanks to you Guy for the brilliant introduction to 'Toy Matinee' a while back in Lock-up part 1 (or should that be cock-up part 1)...
Whatever happened in the opening chapters of the 21st century; I missed this particular nugget of gold... (I don't remember radio 2 airing 'last plane out' though I might be wrong)... so fast forward 20 years and you happen to bring this magnificent album to our attention. I managed to find a used copy on the ebay site and even better was able to utilise a voucher deal knocking a 'fiver' off the cd price... All great tracks and (to my ears) one very much in the vein of Steely Dan... which is fine by me! This album has provided a much needed 'feelgood factor' in what has been a pretty deplorable year. Stay sane and thanks for your contribution to entertain and delight with your reminiscences and musicianship.

Yes!!!! I am LOVING the Saucerful of Secrets video. I was thrilled when I heard you guys were doing it and utterly crushed when I discovered that I had a gig booked on the day you came to Atlanta Ga. I missed you. The pre Darkside years are my favorite and have really been ignored by the PF camp. Ironically, the spirit of those recordings are very much en vogue again. One of the things I really liked was how the band (Saucer) were not too precious with the material. In not feeling the need to play the album tracks note for note, you really managed to capture the spirit of The Pink Floyd. :)
Thanks for all you do. Hopefully live concerts will come back soon and I can catch you when you return to Atlanta.

Great bass work for the Years Of The Canine CD, too. Definitely quite fun to play. The first music I ever bought was Relics on 8 track with $5 that I got for my eighth birthday. See Emily Play blew my mind, along with the rest of it, even though I was intimately familiar with Pink Floyd, which had already been my favorite band since my earliest memories of Ummagumma coming from my parents' bedroom. Fast forward a few decades, and I was playing Guy's basslines with YOTC here across the pond for a while. Life is interesting like that. Cheers from Omaha, Guy.

    Lockdown Licksers, I’ve finally seen
    Guy Pratt’s Episode Seventeen
And I must say that I
    Am concerned for poor Guy
And I think you all know what I mean
His appearance at best is “unkempt”
(From such comments he’s not exempt)
And I’ll say right up front
    That I’m gonna be blunt
    Though I know I’ll attract Guy’s contempt
The first thing of note was the shirt
“Do the buttons up!” my wife did blurt
    Then she nearly went cripple
    When Guy flashed a nipple
Yes indeed, a few buttons wouldn’t hurt!
And what can I say about his hair?
It was here, it was there... everywhere!
Like he’d been in a fight
    With a Dyson all night
It’s just lucky there’s not a lot there
And he seemed a bit dazed and confused
My wife tried to watch, but refused
    “The poor guy’s half dead
He should head off to bed
From this video he should be excused.”
“He’s been watching the U.S. election”
I explained to my wife, with affection
    “He’s a politics junky
    That’s why he looks funky
He won’t sleep till he’s seen Trump’s ejection”
In the comments there was some resentment
    Of Guy’s political presentment
But he said, “Take a hike
    I’ll say what I like
Go elsewhere if you feel discontentment!”
Once again Guy’s bass playing was sweet
See Emily Play, what a treat!
    But Guy, if I may
One last thing I will say
Before the next video you tweet
I’m serious here, I’m not jokin’
These words surely need to be spoken
    Guy, you’re an adult
    Is your state a result
Of that purple stuff you’ve been seen smokin’?
