Lovely discussion ladies. Btw Kaavish is the name of the two person band consisting of Maaz Maudood and Jaffer Zaidi. Kaavish has performed as a band in previous Coke studio seasons, but Jaffer Zaidi was also a member of the Coke Studio house band. He was even background/backup singer on some songs.

Kavish also has song named Nindiya Re in earlier seasons.

Thank you for another insightful listening session. I have had the original on my favorite list since childhood days. I think you owe it to yourself to listen to the original version by Asad Amanat Ali Khan. He died young but there are very few classical singers that could so convincingly and effortlessly touch the melancholy in a listeners heart. There are some incredible singers from this time that are all but forgotten because they sang in Siraiki Language or the older forms of Punjabi. Hamid Ali Bela sang âMaey Ni Main Kinon Aakhanâ and âNeeon La liya be Parrwah De Nalâ. Also Nazar Ejaz qawwali â Hara ve Jani Raat Reh Poâ I wish more young people listened to and understood these songs. These old lyrics that gave rise to the poetic depth you see in modern Pakistani music.

so the first item they presented, the one ali sethi sang is actually composed and sung by The great Asad Amanat Ali(late), Shafqat Amanat Ali's elder brother. He was shining star of Patyala Gharana. a very big loss to the industry đ
he was a true gem. I'd suggest everyone to listen one of his item "Ghar Wapas Jab Ao gy Tum"
The other item Nabeel Shoukat Ali presented is actually by Allah Ditta Loony wala. Allah Ditta sahab was a very unique punjabi folk singer who created wonders in punjabi and saraiki language. very fine singer with lot of high note range.
and what coke studio has done is beyond imagination đ
at the end if we talk about the great ali sethi, he has become a genre himself, it's unbelievable for me how great singer he is while he doesn't come from a "gayik" family.

Nabeel Shaukat Ali is a classically trained singer who won the show 'Sur Kshetra'. It was a musical show between singers from Pakistan & India. He sang Sonu Nigam's 'Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin' in the final to win the title. He also sang quite a few amazing songs in Coke Studio including 'Bewajah' and 'Mujh Se Pehli Si Muhabbat'.
Kaavish is a band from Pakistan & the singer you are referring to is Jaffer Zaidi. He has composed quite a few songs in Coke Studio himself.
If I may, since you like classical music, you shall give a chance to songs of Coke Studio from Season 7 to 10. They are Gems.
