    I'm in my 67th year injecting insulin, and until I got a CGM I thought I was managing glucose pretty well. What a difference now vs then. I enjoyed your video and I'm anxious for the G7 too.

      I felt the same way when I got my first CGM. It made a world of difference in my control and my A1C improved tremendously. Definitely one of the best tools we’ve got.

      Charles I’m 38 years with multiple injections a day like you This is 1 billion % a game changer. The accuracy is good and close enough to exact. Think about it. If it’s off be 7% then if your sugar is 100 from a blood test this is either gonna show your 93 or 107. At home meters aren’t exact either. I’ve tested my blood sugar back to back with the same drop of blood and the readings are never the same. We’re splitting hairs here.

      My last G6 expires on Sunday then I get to use G7 and I can’t wait! G6 got my A1c down to 40 (5.8%) last blood test so definitely for me this tech really is a game changer! Thank you for yet another excellent video! Happy CGMing!

    I'm about to change to my second g7
    I had the g6 for a few years. Overall, I was happy with that
    So far, the g7 has been good. I worry though after reading some comments in the Facebook group I'm in. BTW, my warm up was only 22 minutes! 😮

    As of today, still not out and Dexcom is still working with the FDA to get approval. The odds of seeing it in 2022 are not to high. Maybe by the end of the year. They are not so sure about the 15 day option, but they are working on it, per the CEO. I think this one is a game changer!

    • @diabetesdailydigest
      @diabetesdailydigest  Před 2 lety

      Yeah unfortunately the fact that they chose to disable all alarms as an option seems to be what’s holding up the FDA. Could be a while longer like you said.

    Scott, the G7 improvements compared to the G6 sound good. I am REALLY hoping Dexcom finally improved the sensors to avoid the repeated early failures and incorrect readings. G4 sensors would reliably last 14 days. G6 sensors often fail before the 10 day expiration (in my personal use). Any word on whether the G7 device will work in conjunction with the Medtronic 780? That device has some exciting new basal and bolus automation features and I have been asking Dexcom for years to make their product compatible with Medtronic devices. Thank you for all the information you provide!

    • @diabetesdailydigest
      @diabetesdailydigest  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately I highly doubt any Medtronic pumps will be compatible with any other CGM’s outside of their own proprietary guardian sensor. I hope this changes one day as both the Dexcom and Libre are far superior to the guardian.

    Libre 3 hasn't updated their app in over a year. For iOs they're only compatible with 16. Being that Apple just released 17 yesterday the security issues are huge. I will be switching to Dexcom, at least they update every month or two

  • @Boss-sb9ih
    @Boss-sb9ih Před rokem

    Why free style Libre dont have a deal with omni pod pump so everything will be much easier I’ve been using freestyle libre3 for a while it’s amazing small accurate easy live glucose reading A1C reading……. I just don’t understand why we have to use dexcom only with omnipod pump!

      Although there is no official word, the rumor mill has been saying some time in quarter 2, which would be April-June. This is not official though and can definitely change, but this is kind of what I've been hearing. The biggest factor is the FDA approval which can always push things back. Finger crossed we'll see it soon.

    Any idea when the G7 will be ready in USA? I use the G6 right now but I am looking forward to trying the G7.

    • @diabetesdailydigest
      @diabetesdailydigest  Před 2 lety

      I'm hoping within the next few months. I know it has already been cleared for use in the UK, we're just waiting on FDA approval here, so hopefully very soon.

    Hi, I would like to know if the dexcom g7 only works with iPhone and Samsung like the dexcom g6 or also with other android devices, thanks

    • @diabetesdailydigest
      @diabetesdailydigest  Před 2 lety

      It looks like the G7 will work with a number of different Android devices. Here is the link to the page which goes over all of the compatible android devices www.dexcom.com/en-GB/compatibility/dexcom-g7-app.

    Hi thanks for the info regarding G7, u said u like the receiver, that is for free style libre correct? Do you use a pump, because I have been told a receiver and a tandem pump can't both be used at the same time,

    • @pjay1047
      @pjay1047 Před rokem

      Yes they can. I have used my iPhone, the reader, my pump and apple watch. You can only setup on one device though.

      Won't get it for at least a year maybe 2 yrs after you Americans get it as I am in Canada and Trudeau is not cool w our new techs but most of us get them covered by the province any ways

  • @markusallen6969
    @markusallen6969 Před 3 měsíci

    The 30 minute time is not accurate. I've used multiple sensors of the G7 and it takes longer than that. More like 45 minutes to an hour. False advertising.

  • @TWIXXYT27

    My 9 year old was just diagnosed with type 1. The question is this device the 6 was giving many a lot of inaccurate numbers so does it give you insulin still even when numbers are not correct?? My son was approved the G6 but said he can get the new G7.

    • @diabetesdailydigest
      @diabetesdailydigest  Před rokem

      If you’re using a pump with an automated insulin delivery system like the Tslim or omnipod 5 then yes, it does use the glucose readings from the Dexcom to auto adjust the insulin. The G7 is still not compatible with insulin pumps as of yet, hopefully by the end of the year. Let me know if that answered your question.

    It is now June, 2022…..Has the G7 been released as yet????

    • @diabetesdailydigest
      @diabetesdailydigest  Před 2 lety +1

      Sadly no, but it’s really the FDA delaying things at this point not Dexcom. It’s been in the FDA’s hands for many months now, hopefully we’ll hear something soon.

    Will it calculate your A1c?

    • @diabetesdailydigest
      @diabetesdailydigest  Před 2 lety

      Yep, both the Dexcom G7 and even the G6 have what's called a "GMI" score which stands for Glucose Management Indicator. You can access it through Clarity with Dexcom and it gives you an A1C level based on your CGM readings, its just called GMI instead.
