My Favorite Videos, Mr Truck and Andrei climbing the Ike in a maxed out payload!!! Thank You 🙏
Definitely better than seeing Andre attempt off-roading.
It's All About Payload,Not The Trailering.
Hey Andre, if a truck flashes you to come back over, you're supposed to flash your hazard lights 2 or 3 times to thank them. It trucker etiquette. 😎
This is handy since I'm driving a motorhome all over the place these days. Thanks.
No. That's not a thing. It's a pay if forward kind of feeling. I hate people that use their hazards for anything other than a hazard. Don't make shit up
@Jbainbridge5 as someone who has been in a truck since five years old, I can tell you haven't been a truck ever. It's called a courtesy flash. Most professional drivers either flash the hazard lights a couple times, or flash the running lights, with the actual switch in the truck specifically for this. (It either dims the lights at night, or turns them on during the day).
@@jasonfalk7696 i know what it is, and don't use your hazards unless you it's a hazard situation. You're the problem
@@Jbainbridge5 seems like you're the one with the problem. You're the one complaining about it. If you don't like it, stay off the road. You'll be much happier, and everyone else will be safer. It's a win-win!!!
8 miles up, 8 miles down. Started with a full tank, and now you have 1/4 🤣 great stuff as always
It’s not the only one
I’m wondering what the tongue weight was
The Power Wagon needs this engine.
HELL WAGON!
Power Cat
Naw. Next in line is the Pacifica Van to get a demon engine. The family Hauler to Hell.
@@MysteicVoltronus Hauler to Hell on the Highway to Hell LOL.
@@UvidCo lol dude that made me laugh ! You win the comment section
The power wagon needs the 426 and 4 digits
Andre, you can go into the settings and turn on the "gear" indicator (it will appear to the right of the "D") so you don't have to go into manual
I was wondering the same. I've got that set in my 2019 Larime. Didn't know if the TRX just doesn't have that option.
That Ram TRX Is The Super Beast!
Going to be a great Friday when it starts with an Ike!
Nice to see Mr truck on tflt.
Exactly what I wanted to see!! Finally putting the Fierce TRX thru the gauntlet!
Thanks TFL! It was your initial reviews of the TRX that convinced me to place my order for a TRX to replace my F250 diesel. This reinforces my decision since I plan to do a good amount of towing with it.
Not smart move, well you better save up for gas money bc you’re going to need it 🤣
@@nyok20 It’s all good brother! I don’t tow for a living, probably four long trips a year, with a few local ones to tow the sports car. Sure I’ll probably get 5mpg for those trips, but my daily driving will be much more comfortable compared to the super duty, not to mention fun when the road opens up.
Have you received your TRX yet? I'm curious on how you like it. The TRX seems like a great all around truck(outside mpg's) but I'm someone who has a hard time trusting Chrysler vehicles.
@@shadowsofgreatness It was a great truck, but I sold it after six months and 12k miles. If it’s your thing, I wouldn’t hesitate. I’m just more luxury truck oriented vs off-road, and after awhile I got tired of 8.5 mpg. Small in inconveniences on the adaptive cruise and auto climate control were the last straw for me. All first world problems. In all it’s an amazing truck, and I have yet to drive any truck that rides as comfortable or is as responsive as this truck.
I’m currently in a refreshed 2022 Sierra 1500 Denali and happy with it. Although I may go to the 24 Denali 2500 (refresh) if I find I’m too uncomfortable towing long distances with this one.
@@VAF84 Thanks for the update. Wow 12k miles in 6 months haha you'll definitely feel that premium fuel at the pump. My family has always loved GMC so I hope you like your truck. I drive a little Colorado and it's super reliable compared to the jeep I had before which is why I'm hesitant on going back to a Chrysler product.
My favorite truck you’ve tested! Trading my challenger in for one in a couple years! Awesome video!!!
Woohoo!! An ike video with Mr. Truck! Been a while, thanks TFL!
The dynamic duo, how we missed you guys.
The Trx is very impressive. It is capable of doing it all it seems like to me.The beautiful exhaust tone is fantastic i will never get tired of it.
Another great one guys. And my wife and I agree , we love Andreys accent. Spaciba sir
Such a beast of a truck.
Great video.
Awesome! Have been waiting for this and now you guys uploaded it just as I was getting my breakfast ready lol
You guys deserve an Emmy. The buying public can learn alot watching your info packed videos. Folks cant always test drive the vehicles they want. You sure cant take a trailer on one. Look at the way the off road market operates. you cant even test drive motorcycles, side by sides, quads, etc.. You just have to buy it and see if you like it. Some side by sides are 35,000.00 dollars. Always like watching your videos. My 2015 AEV Power Wagon with 4:10 gears tows very well and your super ike test in a power wagon did well too. It has 37's so it's a super truck.lol 400 plus horsepower is nothing to sneeze at. I love the dam thing.
What a beast!
Awesome video… thanks buddy…
Can’t wait for the next new TfL long term truck announcement
Next time may show all the temps on the dash or performance page, would be nice to see.
Other than that, great video as always.
8:55 Never thought I would hear Mr. Truck saying "my rim is getting smashed" while riding in a truck with a Russian!
Wow
That’s a first
Syka Blyat !! lol
🤣🤣🤣🙂
@TFL if you go to settings and gauge configuration, you can add the gear view to appear in the cluster next to the PRND. It will stay showing what drive gear you are in!
I've emailed them this, they know.
@@cordellroberson532 I'm guessing they missed the email!
@@TramaineleDay5655 no they responded. Sent them the how to from the manual too.
That is damn impressive.
Love that MPG. :)
Wish you guys could do a tow test near white bird idaho. Its a hell of a mountain to climb or go down. And I believe its about 7 miles. Pretty gnarly.
Yes some TRX action time oh yeah baby woooo.🤘💪🇺🇸
Wow, the drone is super annoying. Glad to see Mr. Truck again!
That Tremor(*TRX) with them 4.10 rear axles (*3.55) driven by 2 professionals (*well 1) doing this test up the tike Ike (*Large Ike)was very interesting and appreciated. Thanks guys. Always entertaining. :)
I'm surprised the temp gauge is jumping around like that...usually they buffer them to the point they turn into a glorified warning light. If it's updating coolant temps in real time...I would be fine with that. Would be interesting to have a digital readout to see if it correlates.
Well sitting there at 4500rpm for 15 minutes straight
I also noticed that too. Usually they don't jump around like that.
So, is it reading accurately? What would cause that? I'm sorta curious. Air bubble? Could be normal
@@jamesrobinson9176 it could be the fan kicking on and off but usually you wouldn't see that on and analog gauge.
It's def the fan kicking in and off
I have a power wagon that I tow, if you set the cruise control it will do a better job of engine braking than just using the brake alone.
Mr truck still looking for lot lizards
Is there a video where they show what package they got on the TRX? Or what they added if they order it?
I would be happy just to sit on the trailer and just listen to that Hemi roar!!!! Strap me down baby…. V8 baby👍👍
Next up: The 2022 new refresh GM twins 3.0l Duramax with the 3:73 axle and the 2.7l turbo 4 with the increased torque output plus the tundra turbo 6s.
Which GEN-Y hitch setup are you using here? I think it's the glider but you are also using weight distribution. Can you confirm?
Why no temperature display to show how hot was it running ?
I think this should have been done in the summer. Would be nice to see if it overheats like the other trucks did.
the TRX has beefed up cooling bits it's the breaks that you can cook real easy on it
I had a 94 Dodge ram 2500 with the v10 it got 7 mph pulling a 25 thousand pound race car trailer
I had air bags mounted on rear suspension,I thought that was bad mpg man that TRX really burns the fuel
4.7 MPG must be the bottom of the scale! It didn't move one time after it hit 4.7 MPG from 8:57 to 16:45 covering 7.8 miles.
I came to make this comment also. I'm pretty sure I noticed it on a previous Ram Ike run. I'd be interested to see them do the gas top off before/after and calculate it.
@@vthokiefan I agree do a manual calculation of mpg
I noticed it didn't change and I think it recalculates MPG every 10 or 20 miles.
For hauling a heavy load at that altitude 4.7 isn't bad I imagine being super charged helps
You guys missed the opportunity to roll down the windows in the tunnel and rev that beast, lol!!
“We’re gonna need a bigger mountain…” 🦈
4 brake applications towing over 8k in a gas vehicle is very impressive. Honestly the TRX continues to impress except for situations where you are trying to hold at a lower speed (riding the brakes). The brakes themselves are just not big enough for that size of vehicle, but I understand the reason for that is so that they can fit smaller wheels and bigger rubber. This an off-road vehicle first and foremost after all.
Imagine this beast with 3:92s for towing and performance.
Did anyone else notice the temperature raised at 10:55 and came back down at 12:30?
14:34 what are we running over??? 😆
I'd bet that at 65 mph or so it'll grab another gear. It tried it once and changed its mind
I was going to buy a TRX, but am worried about it towing my 2016 JKUR (5500lbs Jeep). This seems like the TRX can do this fine.
Did you do the same test with chase vehicle Tremor?
Yes. That video is coming in a couple of days.
didnt you do this already?
Mr. Truck gave it away. Super Duty’s do 35 downhill with diesels. Lol
If the lunch spot was a good spot you could have included some footage…
Keep up the good work!
Which is preferred?Off-road truck that can tow or towing truck that can go off-road. Which aspect would you rather compromise on,oof road or towing abilities?
Power Wagon if your priority is off-roading. F250 Tremor if your priority is towing.
@@marvinheadrick3511 - I agree. However, with some airbags in Daystar cradles in the back of the PW you’re getting closer on towing. It is, at the end of the day, a 2500 chassis. The 6.4 will be down on power compared to the 7.3, BUT the PW suspension is considerably better off-road and has a 10” shorter wheelbase than the Tremor. This is most important in tight maneuvers, not so much break over. The OP was talking about the TRX, but for real towing and off-road in most situations, the Tremor or the PW.
@@donleamon8653 all facts sir.👍🏻
Poor Editor must be pulling his/her hair out with that axle ratio 🤣
I can see it, smell it and I can taste it! Ummm power baby!
Oil temp? Transmission temp? Coolant temp?
yes most important when towing
If you calculate 10% of your 8,100 pound load towards your payload, that’s 810 pounds. Plus add you two guys. You were definitely at your max payload depending on the packages added on your truck.
Dam it was averaging only around 4mpg!?!? Dam that's crazy
No measuring sag from the trailer weight?
Guys, you can set showing the gear on the dash even in D mode.... please do that! :-)
Does anyone know what type of trailer they’re using ?
What was the fuel pump real mpg ?
Interesting that TRX returned the same MPG as standard F150s and Rams.
Not splitting hairs…. That was indicated. Reports that under any kind of load or heavy urban use, the indications on the dash are way optimistic. Maybe 3.5 is more like it.
@@johnross6314 only one way to find out: They need to hand calculate! Even a 1mpg lost from something with this kind of weight and power is still astonishing though.
It takes a certain amount of fuel to make a given amount of power.
TRX may have mor in reserve than Tremor or others, but fact is it’s probably using a similar amount of power therefore fuel.
Larger difference comes when you are cruising using hardly any power (vacuum) and when under full load (wot).
🇺🇸 TANGO & CASH back at it! Awesome.
I'd actually like that engine in my HD
Ya, the Power Wagon could use this!
Mr. Truck and Andre are hilarious. We need to see them more!
Why not add an auto or manual air leveling kit to prevent so much squat. It's not the frame or the engine that's the issue
They test them the way they come out the back of the factory. Too many variables to try every aftermarket part
The squat is cause of the soft off road suspension that just come with the territory
Maybe 70 db is a great result but with all that background noise it is hard to hear you guys.
4.7 MPG?
❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥
I absolutely adore my TRX but it’s biggest negative IMO is the absolutely terrible brakes ram installed on it.
I hadn’t noticed the lack of braking force, my biggest negative is the fuel mpg. Super too!
Love these videos and I love they're in Colorado like I am. People get on here and start telling lies about towing, MPG's, etc. and these guys put everything to the max and super honest. That's why they have over 1M subscribers and growing. I love how people in the east buy these highway presences with V6's thinking they can tow then they come out to the Rockies and they realize their rigs suck. I think Mr. Truck is right, V8's will soon be gone because of the liberals and snowflakes.
Andre and the old faaaart. Fun
That rear end is almost dragging the ground.
I'm gunna guess 5mpg lol
Raptor r got 3.2mpg and over 8 min. Trx wins AGAIN
Please work at getting the specifications correct it makes it look like yall don't know your specs. I think 6th gear ration is 1.0 so other 4 are overdrive.thats why it's 3.55 rear end
Clearly you don't. It's an 8 spd
@@traumarn121382 My bad, thanks for the clarification. However I'm not part of TFL's clan
@@jayrichards3672 but remember they test a very large number of assorted trucks all with different gear ratio's and it's hard to remember all those numbers just us they are human
Can someone let Mr Truck know that the TRX probably get's better towing mileage than a Ford " Eco-Boost " baby V-6 quad-turbo ? lol j/k Mr Truck I enjoy when your in these Ike videos.
Lmao is that all you can do is cry?
Andre if your driving have Mr truck do the time and sound, and if he can't then let him drive, focus on driving
Ram dropped the ball by not putting a 10 speed in that truck.
I don’t think so. ZF is so reliable as it stands. I rather have that. Look at what Ford and GM went through. I will take the 8 speed ZF any day.
not when ram finally got a good transmission running best to stick it out and lose the bad trans reputation
I've heard good things about the ZF 8HP. It only gives up 1 non-overdrive gear to the Ford/GM 10 speeds, so for this type of performance should have a similar gear spread.
this truck would fly with a gm 2 speed powerglide.
A true Super Truck could do it towing sixty thousand pounds and not lose singe mile-per-hour going uphill Dodge lost the ability to build those trucks when Mercedes sold them for the worthless pieces of crap they are those trucks on talking about having just as many horsepower + 10 times the torque and It Go surprise get better fuel economy than any RAM on the market today
So You do a video on the Tremor and rip on the Tremor for not having tow mirrors, for squatting and the price. The TRX had all 3 issues as well but not a word said. The Tremor seamed to be quicker from 35-60 towing. Can tow 2,000 more pounds. Not very objective videos for apples to apples guys.
i think its because this truck was never made to be a hauler. its a performance truck
@@ShimaS-0079 Tremor is a baby raptor, not a towing truck.
The brake application part of these videos is extremely underwelming part of these video's.
But one of the most important parts about towing. Especially out here in the West.
@@donleamon8653 i guess i should of been more specific. I tow all over and on grades they require down shifting i manually see etc the gear and forget it. Why leave it in drive when u can select. Decent gear that will hold u.

Andrey,,,,,,, you were horrible, AND on camera, at distracted driving!! You had the phone and your eyes were definitely OFF the road completely when you were starting the clock on your IPhone!! Mr Truck is right there!! Teach him what to do and leave the phone in his hands!! Please!
My nephew was killed by a texting driver, my high school buddy was killed by a texting driver!!! Many areas in North America, Distracted driving kills more people than drinking and driving. C’Mon!!!! You are terrible for doing this in other videos as well! I will make a comment every time I see it!! You and or Roman are going to have an accident yet!! Really! It’s not if, but when!!
You were not too bad at the end but were still somewhat distracted. It only takes a second,,,,,,,. You don’t get to chose which second.
You wouldn’t go 118 at the end saying you gotta be legal, but you broke the law each time you handled your phone,,,,,,, hahaha.
Now don’t get me wrong, please, I like TFL. You are definitely my most watched channels!! You spend a lot of money on vehicles & equipment, either there’s something more simple you can temporarily mount at or near eye level on the dash to time yourselves, or teach Mr Truck!! Please. You said the traffic was heavy for a Thursday right in the video, sooooo.
Mr Truck,,,,,, you have some responsibility to the other drivers as well!!! There used to be Ad campaign saying “Friends don’t let friends drive drunk.” The same applies but saying “Friends don’t let friends drive distracted!” Please do the timing for Andrey in the future,,,,,,,,. In fact you need to INSIST on doing the timing.
I know simple technologies are out there TFL,,,,,,,, DO IT!!!!!!! Please.
Can a $80,000 , 707hp truck tow a trailer? I’d rather see a French made Citroen tow a bottle of wine and a piece of cheese up the Ike.
8k lbs max tow, truck ain't worth 100 grand,
All depends on what you're buying it for.
