It is proud to be an IFS and represent india in other countries.
The reason I prefer indian foreign service because let me tell you i want to represent indian Embassay in foreign countries like hungary Switzerland 🇨🇭 and Austria 🇦🇹 which is far more secure and far away from this indian soceity(who're Gossiping) which i never want because even though being myself as indian passport holder of (official(white) diplomatic(maroon) and blue(normal passport) i can say Austria 🇦🇹 Hungary and Switzerland life suits me better like no more traffic and i had a dream of settling in foreign European countries for many years which is more secure ,Happy land and strict government rules will be followed in European countries once I get these 3 passport and move to foreign countries my life will be like(throw all the rotten indian traditional memories like vehicle unbearable horn sound, vegetable seller making noise by selling vegetables in the roads ,most rotten Indian education system and rotten indian traditional family in the garbage )A peaceful life in foreign countries without any disturbance

Since I'm preparing for indian foreign service exam I appreciate the toppers of UPSC ias because they're my inspiration to me to get job In indian foreign service but truth is even if aspirants are appearing for upsc the result of toppers are coming from ips and ias compared to foreign service and when it comes to choosing many aspirants are preferring IAS AND IPS whereas foreign service are given less importance but to me even in this field I'm applying for foreign service

@@komalkhatana2929 not at all. It depends on your preference and rank. Syllabus is same for IAS or IFS or IPS. The training centres are different though

IAS has more duties and responsibilities than the rest.
IAS reach the top most positions of Govt of India and State governments.
@@liveforyourself8260 The thing is for IFS there is only one high rank position that is Foreign secretary meanwhile IAS has wider opportunities(high ranking positions) as Secretary in Central and State Home,Finance,Defence,Education,Law,WCD,IT,I&B,Panchayat Raj,Civil aviation,Railways.
IAS can also be Chief secretary in States. IAS can also be appointed as RBI governor, chairman of Railways Board,Head of public Sector undertakings,commissioner in Election Commission of India, Principal secretary PMO, Cabinet Secretary, Pvt secretary to PM.
IAS can also be appointed as Lt. governor of Union Territories and head State Election commission as well.
IAS can head Departments of Municipal corporations.
IAS can head National commissions, Finance Commission.
Head various committees set up by govt.
Meanwhile IFS has zero posts in States and Union Territories and only one high ranking post in Union ministry (Foreign secretary)
IAS is above than IFS in hierarchy as well and more important and more powerful.

Almost All ministries, departments are headed by IAS
Cabinet secretary is the top most civil servant of this country and that post is reserved only for IAS.
Principal secretary post is reserved for IAS.
IAS has more exposure and access to the Public.
IFS is a relevant post I agree but it's not equal to IAS.
Don't go by my observation, ask any serving or retired civil servant about why majority of aspirants have IAS as first preference and why there is Hysteria about IAS.
Read posts of serving civil servants about IAS/IPS/IFS/IRS etc.
I tell you IFS is better than IPS for the nature of job in IPS is hectic.
Secretary is the senior post for civil servants.
IFS has little career options it's has little vacancies in Union govt and zero vacancies in states and UT.
Most of them remain ambassadors and retired for there are not much scope and not many vacancies.

IAS starts with grassroot level democracy then moves to ministries and departments.

कौन कह रहा ह। UPSC CSE मैं तो 600 रैंक पे भी IFS मिलता ह।
Shubham Ruhela IFS 600 rank mein general ko nhi milta. Jaise IAS ke liye bhi reserved category ke liye kuch seats hain, toh 400 rank ke baad bohot logo ko milta hain waise hi IFS ke liye reserved seats hain, but general category se aap IFS 74-95 ke andar rank mein ho, toh hi chances zyada hain. But ye vary karta hain thoda bohot har saal according to the intake.

Transfers and Political pressure nehi jhel sakte ho to IRS(IT) best hai uske baad IAAS.
IAS is what you need to choose. You could work in grass-roots only if you are an IAS or IPS. IFS can't help you in that. But IFS could help you in one thing, it doesn't has a lot of politics and corruption. That's it!
