I'm 50, in 1993 I bought one of the original c9s. Say what you want, it still fires to this day. I've never taken it apart, just cleaned the barrel and oiled it. Is it a gun that's in my EDC rotation? No, it's definitely not, but it serves a purpose. It allows everyone a opportunity to defend themselves. Now the PCC they make, I love them. I've got one in 45 caliber, and I love it. It's a blast to take to the range. My dad carries that original c9 in his truck for his truck gun. It's 30 years old, and still does the job.
I bought the 40 caliber model 17 years ago and I’ve shot it somewhere between 2000 and 2500 times and it still works flawlessly. I now own much better guns and it is ugly and heavy but it still works.
No complaints here, I love the fact that there is an affordable USA made firearm on the market that is reliable. Nice job Hi Point!!
Hi Point have a better warranty than Wilson Combat.
so?
@@guaporeturns9472 WC are 4 figure firearms. I would expect better warranty than a gun that is nearly 2 figures. With what WC charges, they can afford the best warranty in the business.
The Best warranty is one you don't need to use
For a range toy a full life time warranty is a good selling point but for a serious defensive piece of equipment no matter what it is it shouldn't matter whether it's lifetime or no warranty I want to not need it
@@MiseryDuke69 exactly.
@@MiseryDuke69Yup like the glock my friend had that had a crack in it. The worst gun i ever had out the box was the SCCY CPX2 9mm. Bad mags, and i ended up fixing the issue my self tho. I upgraded the trigger and the gun functioned fine. I could have sent it in for the warranty but i was going through firearms technology college at the time and decided i would fix it my self. Id like to try another SCCY i hope they have improved since then. But it pissed me off a brand new gun out of the box i dont think i shot more than 9 or 10 rounds lol
HP are excellent Pistols & PCCs...the only drawback is heavier weight of the guns...😎👍
Totally agreed. I’m a Texan with too many guns and I actually own 3 different hi-points and NEVER had an issue with any other than friends making stupid comments about why buy a cheap gun..
I tell Tell them all the same, look at my car collection, I had little problems from my cheapest cars with no option and tons of problems with my vehicles in the 70-90k range. Not always bad to have a basic gun that’s 100% mechanical and simple. No problems.
Ive owned Hi Points and they worked fine and pretty accurate. And have a lifetime warranty no matter if youur the 10th owner. Everyone cant afford 500 or 1,000 for a gun.. Bullets hurt the same out of a High Point same as a Sig or S&W
Very impressed to see how far they have come!
I've never been a Hi Point fan... but I really do think these are a lot nicer looking than the C-9's. I'm not sure if they're identical in function though... because I'm not a fan of the C9's mechanics at all. I think it/they are one of the most poorly designed modern semi-auto's in existence. They're very similar to the failed "Saturday Night Specials" that all failed in the past... and to make an inexpensive firearm, it does not need to be a poor design. At the very least they could just take a moment to actually think about how the gun works and how to improve it... but I don't think they've ever done that... except for this, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were identical on the inside to their older models... because it's like they just don't give a crap.
I own a few Hi points in my collection with my smiths ...rugers and Taurus...have 0 issues with any of them...Just ordered my YC9 from my LGS yesterday....love to Support Hi Point and what they Stand for!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Was the YC9 really just released last month? I just decided to look them up to see if they ever came out with them and found that they did... and then a couple sites I went to said they wee just released a couple weeks ago. I had no idea it took them so long to release them. It's not like there's anything special about them. As far as I know they're just a C9 with a different look. I'm not sure if there are any internal differences at all. Guess I have some things to learn though.
Dude your local gaming store has guns? Magic the gathering really is doing bad
@@deucedeuce1572he pointed out the 1911 style grip safety the picatiny rail as opposed to there proprietary rail.. Glock style front sight.. the optics.. and the double stack mag.. so quite a few differences and it takes time to design engineer and test stuff like that.. looks like it ran fine.. i have a c9 and it runs fine with 8 round mag but the extended mag not so much.. i have the 45acp version it's huge but runs 100 percent.. man if they modify it to a double stack I'm getting one.. or their 995 or 4595 ..
The YEET Cannon is a must-have for any collection. 😊
Right
I really haven't ever wanted a Hipoint, but it's good to see they upgraded their line up.Great video.
Grab one. Too cheap not to.
@@LeinaVance I always imagined that Hi Points were for people who had absolutely no other option... but in this country, that's not very common. For just a slight bit more there are countless guns that are better, especially used guns. (That are smaller, lighter, higher capacity, more reliable, easier to maintain, etc... etc...). I know they want to produce them as cheap as possible... but being cheap doesn't mean that it also has to be a terrible design. A company can design a good firearm and then make it cheap to produce (and even design it to be cheap to make)... but in this case though they just didn't care... and to me that just sucks, because I really do think they could produce a much better firearm for he same price. (and not one that's just better looking, which is nice to see though).
@@LeinaVance lol I may at some point.
Cool option to leave in the toolbox or tacklebox. The folks that talk trash about Highpoints are the folks that have never owned or shot one. They always work and they're affordable
I just today finally shot the guns I've collected over the last 4 years, the Hi-Point CF380 had the least recoil, and was the most comfortable to shoot. Guns I shot were Phoenix Arms 25, Jimenez JA380, CF380, Taurus Spectrum 380, SCCY 9mm, and Taurus G3C 9mm. Of those guns, I liked the feel and lack of recoil from the Hi-Point CF380 the most.
I've owned 2 Hi-Point pistols. Yes, they are ugly as homemade sin. But I never saw a single jam or misfire. I'd rather have one of these over nothing if someone broke into my house.
Finally getting around to getting my hands on the YC9. Thank you KYGUNS for keeping them in stock and it’s a pleasure as always to do business with you folks again.
Thank YOU for your business!
Finally got the YC9 and man I have to say at 10 yards it was grouping very tightly. 10 magazine’s grouped about the size of a 50 cent piece at a moderate rate of fire. Definitely pleased with the YC9. I did have a few failure to cycle back into battery and hanging up in the rearward position. I believe that to be a magazine related issue. However it was a blast to finally get it to the range and get its first 100 rounds down range and I’m loving it.
Had a few in the past never a problem out of them just heavy.
May have to pick one up.
I have the old version, and I will buy this one too. Not sexy, but it goes bang every time! It’s my truck gun.
I got mine and I'm here to tell you folks that that little mf is a nail driver. I oiled it before I shot it for the 1st time and it runs like a clock. And, yes, VERY accurate! I know it's a hoopty lol but it's easily one of the funnest I've ever shot.
Great review, Love my Hi Point, no issues whatsoever with it. I will buy another. So let's YEET!!
Thanks for the review. I want one!
Great review Patrick, I like what I have saw thus far as soon as I get a 10 mm I will get the YC9.
Can’t wait to get one.
One of my favorite guns, Hi point, this one is a must have,
I'll see you soon.💯🍻💯🍻💯🍻💯🍻🍻😎😎
Nice that your range provides a LuLu loader👍
I had to pause..... i am so shocked and damn proud of how you refrained from dumping those rounds..... i could tell that your mind was saying go.... BUT YOUR GUUUUN... YOUR GUUUUN WAS TELLING YOU NOOOOO!... good review
At the price, combined with good reviews, I don't think I can resist. I just wish that it had more than 10 round capacity. I understand they are exercising wisdom regarding potential legislative restrictions.
Spectacular job Brother thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise and GOD-BLESS hello from Detroit Michigan brother thank you
Never cared for their pistols but LOVE my PCC. Accurate too.
I definitely want to pick up a couple Yeet Cannons.
I would love to put a trijicon or delta point on there just for the odd looks id get at the range.
I plan on buying one next month I've been waiting for it to come out
With my C-9, the first 100 rounds had 3 mishaps. I believe it was actually me having too high of a grip. After I adjusted my grip, it ran flawlessly. It is now one of six hp's we own. Love them all. All shoot well!
I have the 9mm and the 45ACP carbines and they work flawlessly. I only shoot my own reloads and never had a jam or missfire yet. They aren't pretty but they get the job done and I would bet my life on mine any time. Great guns but ugly.
I have hi-point pistols and carbines and they are solid good guns i also own other brands of guns , i carry all my pistols in my carry rotation but my C9 goes to work with me most , i dont mind banging on stuff and getting dusty, after about 1000 rounds they should start to smooth out and run very reliably if they didnt from the start
Great guns and great price.
Been waiting for this gun for like 4 years. When will it be in stores
Finally, me and my dad been waiting years for them to finally come out with the double stack
They're so shitty feeling but they're so fun to shoot, very excited for it
there are a lot of guns on the market. high point is defiantly one of them.
My Hi-points go bang every time, love my 9mm carbines...
I'm getting one
Not gonna lie, ive had hi points and they were not dependable but i dont hate the way this one looks. It defiantly looks better than the others
Best customer service in the business…
Now … double Stack 9mm Carbine ?
I know a lot of people who use them for toolbox and fishing guns, especially since if nothing else, they're a secondary anchor. Their mags used to be really trashy, a little better now
I bought one after all the torture test videos, I currently own more............. excellent for an entry level gun owner with a warranty that can't be beat. support American business.
Wonder when they are coming out with double stack carbine!
Can you show how these pistols break down for field stripping and cleaning?
So when will you do the street warrior review? You know, hold it sideways like it comes out the box and one hand mag dump it.
Just make sure you have a few extra targets up for extra points ya know!
Yeet yeet !
I want this gun just because of the "Yeet Cannon" on the side. Literally want to be able to say to someone, lets go shoot my yeet cannon & be totally serious. haha!!
Love and have a few!
I call HI POINT, THE AMERICAN SKS!.
Drop it in the mud and keep on going;
Clean the barrel now and then and they work great!
Is the new YEET smaller? More compact? Then the original?
Thanks;
Just wish they were somewhat more sleek design. I would own one though.
If I get one I want it to say "Yeet Cannon". YEET!😃
When are the rifles getting double stacked?
I have to have the “Yeet Cannon”!!’
When will hipoint be available in south africa?
They seem to have an issue with the mags. The only time there is a problem with Hi-Points it's with the mags.
They should just of just modified it to take glock mags.
The carbines would be fun with glock fun sticks.
Dam,cool
Got one from you ASAP but I can’t find spare mags anywhere 😢
It will go perfect with my mullet wig, I might make a shadow box🤔
Yet to hear any reviewer comment more about the new ("improved"?) grip safety...? Find it interesting that while Springfield removed the grip safety feature from their new product (after decades of using one on their "bread & butter" mainstream lines of XT & XTMs), HighPoint decides to add it to the Yeet Cannon (but not the other new offerings?). Wonder how it affects the magazine safety being deactivated?
What about the charging grizzly test ?
Hi Point Firearms products are affordable allowing people to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights regardless of their financial situation. The lifetime warranty that is on the life of the gun not dependent on if you are the first owner or the fifth owner.
Nice
Just picked mine up last weekend and it had a bad Mag,
🔥
I understand its the compact 9, but a slightly longer grip could probably facilitate 15 round mags.
Tbh that’s a galaxy brain idea
Bad ass gun. Buy it and be safe.
While I do appreciate the fact the firearm is available, there is a reason I do not own one....
And what is that reason?
Reliability +
Accuracy +
Warranty +
Superb PCC +

@@MA-lq6eb Well, like Glock's, they just do not fit me... Not all firearms are for each person. We all have likes and dislikes.🤷♂ Hi-Point's have a horrid trigger, horrid action, and I simply do not enjoy shooting them. And at the end of the day, I live in the USA... There are simply much better options, "for me".
But hey, you asked🤷♂
@MA-lq6eb You seriously said "Superb PCC"?
Have you ever owned a PCC that isn't made by Hi-Point?
@@pewpew9193 I am not sure you are asking me but it looks like it. I have never owned any Hi Point, but I have a Ruger PC Carbine and PC Charger, great guns.👍
They are a pain in the ass to field strip!
That’s why you don’t field strip them. Just run it.
I have always wondered why don't gun ranges use sound absorbing foam on the walls and ceiling?
probably flammable 🔥
Curious, I noticed you hand loaded the first round in each magazine before you grabbed the LuLu Loader... Is that just habit or is there a reason? Thanks👍
Do that as not to damage the follower. I do the same thing.
Thanks, wasn't aware of that@@pistolgrip44mag
@@pistolgrip44magthe loader won’t damage the follower it’s a plastic loader. That said and to the person that asked the question, it’s a little awkward to load a completely empty mag with that loader
Engineering marvel!
How late is this? 2 years?
A new age of firearms tehcnology has begun. Remember this day.
I want to know what Browning pants Patrick has on in the video?
Someone tell Hi Point officials the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban has long since expired and they're free to make firearms + official mags that have more than 10 round capacity. It's okay to make double stack actually double stack. The one seen in this video could've potentially held 15 rounds. If that was the case then I wouldn't hesitate on getting one of those PCCs they offer.
They don’t have to worry about various state laws and restrictions this way…just saying
For every derogatory comment about HiPoint firearms there's an Englishman who wishes he could own one. 🤔
BTW: They are inexpensive enough that you can hide one in the barn or the outhouse, and just leave it there.(For emergencies)
Are they still a boat anchor?
With very little recoil...
Tea cup gangsta style takes skill
i’m definitely 👍 buying this gun at $229 is a bargain
Or for about the same money, sometimes less, you could get a reliable and modern Taurus G2c…pay just slightly more and you could have a G3c…I guess that’s my only real complaint about HiPoint…other/better handguns cost about the same, so doesn’t make it appealing to me personally
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗spectacular job i will take too they are small hello from Detroit Michigan brother thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise and GOD-BLESS
This hi point does not look that bad
not gonna lie I bet this thing is totally adequate.
Oh NO. I think I'm gonna be found on the wrong side of the tracks.
Don't tell me I have to buy another Hi Point 🎉
I thought gen 2 isn’t reliable!
Should have made it take Glock mags.... They totally missed that huge opportunity. Odd looking 10rd mag.... Wooooow
Fuck it ill buy 1.
No Jamming 😮🎉
That thing just looks heavy
And recoil on the 380 is minimal.
I got the 9mm model that’s covered in 100 dolla bills
3:35
How don’t you know where the name yeet cannon came from? Have you been living under a rock?!?
officially retract all my negative comments This is definitely not the gun either of them have. This doesn't look that bad at all. It's a sucks that it doesn't come with an athic plate. Just like parenta did with the apex carry that should be included But every other high point I've ever seen was hideous and this isn't bad looking at all. I'm wonderful. It's classified as compactful size? Definitely nowhere near what my buddy had s*** Now I want one to play with. But I'm scared of f*** up or blow up. That would be a great little kit if it came with the plate and a decent optic like that 1 on there.
S*** I wouldn't carry that for personal protection. But I would never guess that was a high point. If I seemed someone at the range with it like I usually can tell right.
They come along way from the old guns. They used to make maybe they're making better stuff. Now I don't know, but that's not a bad looking gun at all. From what i'm used to
It's probably the least returned gun because the people buying them are putting them in a drawer instead of shooting them.
I was thinking that too
But seriously though I do know people that shoot the original ones and they don’t complain about problems
Turkey shooting there neck hunter?
Hi Point is catching up with Sig. Would be a hotter seller if it took Glock mags.
Lmao
Hi Point.... sounds like an appliance.
Because it is lol
@@beasmode18 Exactly
I ❤yall guys company day one customer service on point really and I always buy from HI point fire arm's respect from 205 pisces black alpha male Birmingham Alabama home of the Civil rights moment
Id rather have a hp than nothing.
I'd rather have the HP over the SCCY and Taurus, which I also have.
None of the Hi Points get returned because they are alll in police evidence lockers
Not true
Criminals don’t go to gun stores and buy guns…they steal them from law abiding citizen gun owners’ houses…or they buy them from other criminals.
Funny thing is, they don’t care what they’re buying and they don’t reload. If the mag has 5 rounds or 15 that’s what they have…when it’s empty they get another stolen gun…they don’t go to the gun shop and ask what bullets work best in street shootings.
There’s a lot of 22lr’s used in shootings…because almost every home has a 22lr so a lot of them get stolen.
There better then the SCCY
The newer striker fired SCCY pistols are wayyy better than a Hi-Point, but I wouldn't recommend either one.
I would not get another one if they weed free in will stay away from sccy
@@pewpew9193Nope, Recoil on the HP is way less, I like that's it big, I have big hands.
