I use the regen braking after just 98% charge unless you live in a very hilly town, you won't charge more than you use while riding. Apollo are just throwing in a number, like " Oh lets just say 90% whatever".
Yah I’m definitely hooked on the regen brake. Didn’t think I’d use it as much as I do. Pretty much forgot about the drum brakes haha.
I'm curious to see if the build quality is as good as a segway or Niu scooter. I own a segway and a Niu scooter. Those build quality is top notch.
So far from what I’ve seen this thing is solidly constructed. No rattles, squeaks or creaks. Took it out on some gravel/dirt paths today and it did really well. Of course, we’ll see how it holds up after extended use.
I was going to get one of these. However, the 36 volts (and range) put me off. But I
did purchase an EMOVE RoadRunner V2. Dual motors, (350 and 500W, 1680 peak
power) 26Ah, 35 + mile range, 35 mph and 14 inch tubeless tyres... Granted, it does
weigh more than the Go, but when I take the battery out, it weighs less than 22kg !
Also, here in the UK, the Apollo Go is £1200, while the RRV2 cost me a Bargain price
of £999,99 ! Now all I need to do is wait for delivery.😏(Could be up to 2 weeks !) 😏
Nice! The RRV2 looks like lots of fun. Great performance for the price. Definitely more bike like than a scooter, but that means bigger tires and less to worry about in terms of road conditions. Plus you get to sit down and relax haha. Hopefully you get it soon 😊 and have fun.

I've two questions about the App for the Go.
1. Does the App shows the battery temperature?
2. Does the App shows charging progress in % numbers ?

1. App shows battery and speed controller temp.
2. App does not show anything while charging as the scooter remains off during the charge cycle. Can’t connect the App to the scooter while charging unfortunately. If you unplug the scooter and power it on then connect app, you can see battery percent, but nothing while charging.

Tipped over on carpet and lens still cracked. Wish it had rubber protection around the turn signals
I just unboxed mine last night. Little upset about the casting of the deck. A little wavy at the curves and a couple pits. Minor but it’s a premium scooter for 36v
Yah I noticed that as well. I took a look at some of the early reviews of the pre-production models and they had the same waves at the curves.
I love my Max G2 so much! Nearly 200 miles on it currently and I have 0 complaints! The only reason id ever upgrade is to get something faster lol Like a Nami Klima
Yah the Max G2 is an excellent scooter. I also heard great things about the Klima. I may or may not be guilty of visiting their website a couple dozen times over the last several months 😂

Have you tried putting the bar extension from your Segway G2 Max on the Go? If not, do you think it would fit? I have a Go and I want to get the bar extension for a phone holder and mirror. But the Go's bar space seems pretty small.

So it definitely does not fit. The handlebars and stem are huge. You need something with a 43mm diameter/1.7inches. I’ll see if I can find something.

No problem :). The biggest I’m finding on Amazon is around 32mm…I’m working on a full end to end review and wanted to attach some cameras but even my clamps that work for every other scooter are too small for Go lol.
Love the scooter there's nowhere to put your accessories on the handlebars. Like aluminum light.?

@@mikehagquist5198 congratulations 🤗 how dose it hold the speed like 26 mph how long does it take to drop to 24 or 23 with my vsett 8 top speed I'm getting 27 that full battery 54. But when it gets to 49 it goes down to 25 - 24 then at 45 it stays at 22 mph. But honestly because I know it can hit those speeds. I just put Cruise on at 12 mph with cruise control listening to music on the handlebars. Hope you can do it with your one
Great review. My Ninebot g2 is my first scooter purchase. I just past 200 miles and I really enjoy it.
The duel motor has me curious about the Apollo. Waiting for your next review about the range.
I love what I have. How tall is it compared to the g2? And the length of the deck? It looks narrow. But, the width is not really that important to me. I do have size 14 shoes. And about 240. I may be in the market for a little more power. 22 is fast on a scooter to me. But the duel motors has me thinking. Better braking. I could use even more range.
Another concern I have is the size of the handle bar. I just added mirrors to my g2. And I use them all the time. Can I install mirrors as easily? And a drink holder?

Thank you! I will publish the range test tomorrow evening (March 19th). Congrats on the Max G2. One of my favorite scooters 😊. The scooters are about the same in height. In terms of usable deck space length, the Go has 20.5” vs the Max G2’s 19.5”. If feels spacious for me.
As for accessories, you’d have to get a handle bar mounted accessory bar with the narrow mount points as real estate is limited.
The Apollo Go is slightly shorter in height than the Max G2 and the handlebars are about 20.5 inches compared to the latter's 22.5 inches. The old Ninebot Max G30's handlebars is about 18-19 inches wide which is narrower than the Go's.
The dual motors of the Go will consume much more power than the G2 so it will have shorter range but if you tweak the max speed to just 20mph and acceleration settings to half, you would get more or less the same range as the Ninebot Max G2!
👋 How does this feel to push the scooter manually? Is there a lot of rolling resistance?
So I tried using it as a kick scooter and there is a bit of rolling resistance. It’s better to just walk it at that point. Walking it is actually pretty easy. I walked it a couple miles with no problem.

Hello! I am in Arizona. So far they both have their advantages. The Go is a quicker scooter with stronger acceleration. The Segway on the other hand has a more plush suspension.

Hey ya Tom! My Go has some strange behavior on the battery level - right off the full charge it will drop to about 81% within a few seconds of riding. Then it will fluctuate back up to around 91 and then back down over and over. Does yours do that as well?
I think the app reports battery in a weird way. The DOT matrix display appears more consistent.
If I pull the phone off while it's showing, the DOT display shows the same thing, really strange battery fluctuation. Thanks for responding!@@tomsgadgetgarage
Hmm, I will have to check it out more. Seems like something that should be fixable with a firmware update. Yah mine loves to show 86% and 81%.

I returned it as brand new i could barely get 10 miles out of it. I imagine after a year of use it's range will reflect that of a razor lead acid battery scooter lol I was sorely disappointed after being hyped up for a lightweight dual motor suspension scooter. Even the Max G2 gets about 20 miles for me with one motor working overtime. 😢
To put this in perspective my work is 8 miles away and I will ride my MAX G2 there with 60% battery remaining. The GO was around 28% and nerfing my speed heavily by the time I rolled up to work. I desperately tried to charge it before my shift was over but it did. Not have enough juice to get me home after letting it charge for my shift. It was an amazing ride for the first 20 mins before the BMS took the entire 20mph speed range away though!
should I get this over the G2?
It depends on what you plan to use the scooter for. What are your basic requirements?
For me, I weigh in around 200lbs and typically use scooters on shorter rides, 4-5 miles in each direction. Getting up to speed quickly is important to me, especially when riding through intersections. I also prefer something on the lighter side as it’s easier to transport. As much as I love scooters that go 40+ mph, 70lbs+ is no fun to lug around. The GO comes in at about 7lbs lighter than the G2. I also factor design and function into my purchasing decision. The GO has excellent overall lighting and is a sleek and unique looking scooter. Given all of that, I choose the GO as it more closely meets my needs.
@@tomsgadgetgarage I'm slowly leaning towards the GO. Does Apollo have a good brand reputation like Ninebot? Do their scooters have lots of issues?
So a lot of the info I have on both brands comes from hours and hours of reading through forums and lots of watching videos, specifically around issues with certain scooters. I’ve also thoroughly tested the G2 and am wrapping up testing of the GO.
Both are major players in the electric scooter market. Segway/Ninebot is a larger company that’s been around a lot longer. Apollo is a smaller company but is well established.
As for reputation, I use general sentiment from forums as well as sources like Trustpilot. Segway has a 1.5/5 rating and Apollo has a 4.6/5. From a product perspective, I have no issues with either. From a customer service perspective, I have none as I’ve run into zero issues so far.
I’ve heard good and bad things about both companies, but one thing really stands out about Apollo. Specifically, their executive team is regularly on social media. They even host live Q&A sessions on Fridays where they answer people’s questions. That speaks volumes to the type of company they are. It shows they are fully engaged in the customer experience. I also noticed they offer upgrade kits on some of their scooters when they make changes for the next model year. Which beats buying a new scooter for an upgrade haha.

Very detailed overview. This is definitely going to work out great for my son. The only thing i gotta figure out is putting some mirrors for him i see that there isnt much room to put anything on the handlebar similar to my segway GT1 so im thinking maybe getting some Large size post clamps will work to use a handlebar extension for additional accessories. But man, i love how organized they have everything, including the tools. Definitely a different unboxing experience vs Segway even my more expensive Segway GT1 didnt come packaged like that. 😁👊
Thanks man! Yah one of the accessory bars with thin attach points will work great for this scooter. Would’ve liked a bit more real estate though. Also to note is that the stem is THICK! Can’t get any clamp style camera mounts on it.
Electric scooter riders need you and your friends help that has connections with electric scooter companies. I live in DC and they're talking about banning all electric scooters & bikes in multi dwelling buildings with 30+ occupants cause they say it's a fire hazard. I don't drive and this is my only way of transportation when public trans isn't available. What to do on a fixed income, I can't ride a traditional bike cause of a damaged nerve in my leg. PLEASE HELP THE RESIDENTS OF WASHINGTON DC DON'T LET THEM BAN THE ELECTRIC SCOOTERS & BIKES.
Yah part of the issue is folks using fast chargers on scooters that aren’t compatible with them. Generally speaking, a nice slow charge is the best for battery longevity and safety. Another issue is UL certification. More and more companies are coming onboard with UL, but it needs to happen at a faster rate. Then there’s the issue of people modifying their scooters and e-bikes that may not have the technical know-how required.
A UL certified battery and electrical components as well as charging with the proper charger make scooters/e-bikes just as safe as any cell phone.
If anything, the rule makers in DC need to push for UL certification. Everyone wants to shove EVs down the American public’s throat, but when it comes to personal electric vehicles like scooters and e-bikes, which are generally more efficient than their vehicle counterparts in almost every regard, all the sudden they want to ban them from multi-occupancy dwellings. Doesn’t make sense.
I will do what I can on this platform to push for common sense regulation around PEVs. I’m actually in the process of reaching out to my town council where I live to update their e-scooter laws to allow their use in bike lanes, just like nearly every other city in my state.

7 hours to charge is criminal.
Yah it does take a while but it’s on par with a lot of scooters out there. Some take 9+ hours. Hopefully in the near future we can get charge times to 80% in under an hour without significantly reducing the life of the battery. Just need some Tesla superchargers for scooters lol.
@@tomsgadgetgarage I saw one that had inputs for dual chargers, but it has 100 miles of range in 4 hours.
Yah those dual charger scooter are nice, especially if you need a quick turnaround on charging. It’s even better when they include the second charger with the scooter.
