How To Use A Rug Doctor Rug Shampoo Rental From Walmart

- Got dirty carpets or area rugs? Recently I had a customer that wanted her carpet and area rugs cleaned. So I rented the Rug Doctor Pro from Walmart to give it a try. I didn't hold out much hope, but at the end of the day, the Rug Doctor carpet cleaner from Walmart worked great.
In this video, I'm going to show you what I used to clean heavily soiled carpets and an area rug. I'll also show you the technique I used to get these clean. Not all area rugs are created equal, so make sure yours is able to be cleaned with a carpet cleaner before trying the Rug Doctor Pro out on it.
The Rug Doctor carpet shampooer from Walmart cost me $45. That's a lot less than what a carpet cleaning company would have charged!
I will say, most of these carpet stains were pet urine stains from her dogs. Some had been there a long time. Other dirt was from just being tracked in from the apartment parking lot and sidewalks. I'd never cleaned heavily stained carpets like this caused by dog urine, but I was pleasantly surprised at the results. I used the Rug Doctor Oxy cleaning solution even though Rug Doctor has a cleaning solution for pets.

I recommend dumping the dirty water down the toilet and not the kitchen sink.
Both have to be cleaned. Just easier using the kitchen sink in this instance.
Outside lol
@@BlueCollarDIY well. Ok. You had to come in a door or get out. When something clogs you can remind yourself of that next time I guess, and I have a Rig Doctor I bought. And I’m trying to forestall a world of p.o.’d fur you…truly.
Thanks, kind sir! I was about ready to spend $300 on a new Bissell carpet cleaner. I had no idea that rentals available today were near professional-grade equipment. Twenty or 30 years ago, those available at local grocery and drug stores were not much more than a glorified shop vac. You just saved me $250! You win the CZcams award of the day! 🏆
Me tooo
I rented one rightnow 😌
Might as well invest in one for long term use to save money but it is understandable if a person just needs a quick cleaning for the time being
@@josephvillines9766 these rug dr pros are around $1000 cad. you can rent one for $25/4 hours.
😂😂😂😂 these are far from professional!
A shop vac has wayyy more suction than this garbage!
Put your hand over the suction it can’t even hold a piece a paper
My carpet isn’t too dirty but I’ve been in this rental 11 years so it’s due for another cleaning. I’m considering renting this thanks to you!
Thank you for sharing! Always nice to see someone else's experience before you try something out the first time
Today was my 1st time using The Rug Doctor and I’m 100% impressed!
Love that they rent these carpet cleaners out. Great video, the instructions on the one we rents had faded out.
Because of COVID, we have not had Stanley Steamer in our house now for 2 years. Never had we gone so long. I'm going to clean my carpets myself, as badly as I don't want to. And my carpet is the same light color as yours. Thanks for showing how to use the Rug Doctor. I hope for no problems or issues when I rent mine. Helpful video, thanks!
Thanks Michelle. I hope it goes well. It was much easier than I thought it would be and it cleaned super great. The hardest part for me was choosing which cleaner to buy for the Rug Doctor!
Thank you so much! This was really helpful--definitely going to use it!
Thanks for the demonstration!
Renting one right now. Thank you for the video. 👍👍👍👍
Thank you for the demonstrative video, going to go rent the same one at Walmart tomorrow. Your video definitely convinced me to try it out! 👌🏻
Good luck with the Rug Doctor. I think you will like it!
Did it work pretty good? Thinking about trying it out
Great video thank you for the demonstration
Your video helped me alot ( how to used it ) thank you
I would recommend pretreating stains first
Great video... Thank you.
So when you pushed up it sucked up the water? Or did you let it air dry
Those stain MIGHT come out if you put Dawn dish soap on it and lightly scrub then let sit for an hour and then use rug doctor.
Do you have to wait for it to dry?
Thank you!
Lift-off feature-so convenient!
How long did it take you to clean?
Does it leave the carpet damp? How could I dry it correctly?
Wow kinda surprised how well this machine works
If you have regular outdoor traffic dirt, they work ok, but if it’s anything other than that GOOOOOOD LUCK, they don’t heat the water and HOT water is the magic cleaner
Well done BC ---- you showcased how a legitimately soiled carpet can be cleaned with the Rug Doctor. Is there a special tool for carpet right next to baseboard's ? There are area's in my place i know i would have to pretreat ---- assume they sell a solution for that also ?
@9:00 - oops 🤦Unless you live in an apartment ... wouldn't recommend draining that nasty water ( with probably years of junk / germs) in the kitchen sink bcuz you gonna end up having to clean / disinfect that sink before you use it with any food/kitchen related items !! creating more work for your self ! 😒Restroom sink or the toilet would be a better choice if you got no outdoor ! Otherthan that... great demo man!! Much appreciate ... I'm Sold !! ☺🙌
Well, actually this was an apartment! But I generally clean my sink after the dishes anyway.
Wow thanks for this Great video!! You talked me into trying lol
I've found 8oz per gallon works a bit better, never be afraid to go a little bit stronger.
Thanks I called Walmart no answer so I came to U-tube now I know 🎉🎉❤
Cómo se usa la manguera ?
What about the stairs?
That lid is to be filled to the 4oz line 2x per full clean water tank.
You remind me of my dad, thanks for the video man. 🥹
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words!
I rented the same model but definitely not getting the same results. Going to rent a steam cleaner.
...what is with people emptying these in their kitchen sinks instead of their bathtub...?
Why not? Don't you clean your kitchen sink and toilet?
how do you dry the carper after the cleaning?
how long does it take to dry I don't have a fan just the ceiling fan
I’m still trying to figure out why the kitchen sink was the location of choice for disposal 🤔
It costs 65 now for the vacuum machine and cleaner solution.
We have a bissel we own I don’t think it works as good so I’m gonna try this one
Did you use deodorizer too?? If yes than how??
How did you got gray it see red when im in the store how?
Different stores probably have different models.
I have nothing good to say about the $42.00 spent on renting one, using their solution. Dog doo 2hrs max before cleaning didn't come out.
In retrospect I should have used freezing cold water with oxyclean instead , a clear Target scrub brush, and my shop vac already good for wet vacuums.
What the heck did your dog eat 😂
Stop feeding your dog fabric dye dude
What I hate is that it only sprays a 5 inch wide square of cleaner
Is the rug wet after or do it dry thanks
Yes, it will be a little damp but not bad.
@@BlueCollarDIY thanks for the reply gonna get it done next week for sure
Doesn't it need rinsing
Thanks for sharing but why not empty the dirt nasty stuff into the toilet instead of the kitchen sink?😮
put some awesome on the stains first
Always vacuumed first
YES!
Nope, isn't working much better than the machine I already own. Take it back!
We going to use one cup...pours two cups.
He should have taken the poor dog out and not left him in that cage next to the dirty and loud noise coming from the machine.
Bro I was with you until you emptied dirty carpet water in the sink you wash dishes
damn just get some new carpet
He lives in apartment landlords aren't required to change carpets until five years we cannot replace carpet without permission
Walk. Outside and dump on ground…really.
You betcha!
You are not using it as per instructions!
Y’all nasty 🤮 for putting it in ur sink
Great video, thank you
Do you have to wait for it to dry?
