Rowan Atkinson I mean yeah I guess he is a good dad. But I mean its really nothing spectacular him moving his daughter away from a raging fire. It’s really just expected.
I think it's more like, in cartoons at the minute we expect a punchline for everything. If it had been Family Guy, or Rick and Morty or something else, then there would have been no concern shown for Tina by Bob. That's what's nice about Bobs Burgers. Bob genuinely cares for his kids and the writers and animators aren't afraid to show it. The asshole/idiot dad trope isn't there and it's just so nice to see.
Why does it make me so happy that a cartoon parent cares about his kid getting burned? They have, no joke, the healthiest cartoon relationships I've ever seen
It is nice to see a level-headed father to rush in for safety of his children. Cleveland Brown, Peter Griffin, or Stan Smith? All don’t care nearly as Bob.
I do love that the more this show's developed, the more it's like turned into a subversion of the typical dumbass dad and neurotic mum archetypes. Bob's defiantly the more level headed of the two and Linda's more....Linda.
It's cuz Bob and Linda genuinely love their kids. They are fairly poor but honest working folks making and honest living. To them even if it fails their family is more important. Their kids for as and to quote Linds (messy and Stinky) as they can be, they love them.
American dad's dad Stan would've criticised Haley for the fire and would've done nothing. Family Guy's dad Peter would've just pushed Meg into the fire and then do nothing Bobs Burger's dad Bob moves Tina away from the fire to keep her safe. This is why he's the best dad out of the three
The best part about this show is that unlike most adult cartoons this actually feels like it was written by adults, and not teenagers who want to feel older than they really are
@@macmcskullface1004 Oh I know, but there's a line when it's funny and endearing to just pure annoyance, and they've crossed that line a few times in the recent seasons.
It's really sad that our expectations of being shown real parenthood in a adult show have been low for years now. Family Guy used to do it, but then it turned...what is it today. American Dad is...well, okay. Much better than Family Guy. But this is a breath of fresh air. Thanks for making relatable characters that adults can get into while still keeping a humor tone.
Ted Cantu I misread that as "this this the best episode ever created" so my response doesn't make sense. we all have favorite shows we think are the best
that chase innocuously directs bob away from the house before it burns is actually a really really good use of foreshadowing. it feels like they put a lot of thought into this episode

NdGT talked about this very thing in a recent StarTalk episode; the infrared radiation from a blaze like that would reach your face almost immediately, ahead of the actual air temperature rising.
One thing I love about this show is whenever a character is not one of the main characters of the episode, they provide the best side jokes. Like Linda's, "MY FACE!" at the end of this one. So well done
I love how this episode stars Bob Odenkirk as a shifty insurance scammer and that his other character Saul Goodman from breaking bad does pretty much the same thing. It’s amazing.
Considering the insurance agent was doing some shady shit in this episode, it would be very on brand for Saul to just change his name and return to scamming.

Peter would have tried to save the burgers instead. And Hank, the house.

This is the show with the most grounded protagonists i ever seen. Even more than first season simpsons
Seriously, the Belchers are the healthiest and truly happiest family on t.v.
100%
Even with the little fights here and there they’re still a good family!
This comment of course, being in response to a video where they set a house on fire...
I find them to be gross and mentally challenged.

That and "Stay outta my room!" Whenever she leaves the house
As well as Tina's 'I'm ok' every time she falls down.
Bob's "Gene" every time Gene says something inappropriate.
I like how Linda is worried about her own face even though she is quite far away from the fire
Even more, nothing even touched her face while she felt drunk 😂
