✈Making a Leather Luggage Tag for Travel ✈
One of our good friends is going on a trip, so we made her a luxury leather luggage tag to travel with. We made this leather luggage tag with our sponsor Weaver Leather's Canyon Rose leather, which is hot stuffed and perfectly suited for travel!
The Leather Luggage Tag is hand sewn with a saddle stitch and polyester threads, and hand cut from this beautiful leather hide. We hope you enjoy :) - Jak na to + styl

Yep! We're working on making it perfect now, it'll go on the website as soon as we're happy with it and it'll include a print out for the info card that goes inside too :)

We use a Saddle Stitch with two needles, just no stitching pony :)

yep! those are the 5mm, we use them for pretty much everything

do you have a template for this tag?
Did you split the leather ? I noticed the link only has the leather used is only available in heavy weights (10oz and higher). It would be nice to try that in wallet manageable thickness.
Weaver will split it for you! Just call them up to order and ask for the hide to be cut into 12" strips, then you can have them split each strip (usually 3 per hide) to any weight you want. We usually get two at 3oz and 1 at 5oz

Does Weaver cut down the leather for you? When I clicked on the link for materials, the harness leather says it is 12 oz.
Yep! They'll split whatever you want, first into 12" strips then however thin you'd like. It's usually only $20 or so per hide in labor and the cool thing is you can get one hid split down into two weights if you want
Do you treat your natural veg tan with anything? Like a finish or oil?

Looks great, but why 3 layers? 2 should be enough.
Thanks! the leather is only 2oz, so the second layer gives the piece structure

Does the card stay loose in that space cut and closed with a pressure button? I didn’t see the applicability, un exemple. I imagined cutting a piece of leather and recording my personal information in case of loss or misplacement

You should get a set of stitching chisels and a rubber hammer since a needle is not enough to go through layers of leather
You can do allot of things with those tools i started when i was 13 and i bought a 15 dollar starter kit now i have my own shop it just takes time and plenty of money
