One they still haven't rectified because reasons.
Crazy, microsoft just nailed it with the 360 then blew it so hard with the xb1
Until the Kinect came out and they just gave up.
They didn't nail it with the 360. The red ring of death was a result of Microsoft pushing the 360 out the door before it was ready. Not only did it alienate their core audience but it also cost Microsoft $1,000,000,000.
Halo is literally the only reason Xbox still exists today
@@volerasphere
That and Microsoft has deep pockets. They lost what, 4 billions with the og Xbox? For any other company that would be their first and last console
hmm i'd say they screwed up with the 360 i was put off by how they handled things with the non pro version and in general everything they did, naming convention of 360 lead to the stupid name of one. just name it xbox/xbox2/xbox3 or just something else entirely
I remember beating the entirety of Clone Wars Republic Heroes in a single day because of the Games for Windows live prevented me from saving the game lol
Not that it had anything to do with the crappy Games for Windows live debacle ( I think...), i had the same issue with the last official Unreal Tournament (Unreal Tournament III) release on windows (from Win 7,8 and 10)! Unless there is some checkpoint in the campaign saving system that I never reached! I never played the ps3 or XB360 version so i don't know! At least i could play custom and random bot tournaments outside of the campaign. With my campaign experience i would get to chapter II or maybe even III, have enough of the game and quit, and return starting from the damned beginning!
The main thing about Conker wasn't really that it looked bad but it just strayed too far from the original artistically in many areas of the game and was also censored and y'know... that was kind of the whole unique thing with Conker, an innocent looking creature in a (mostly) innocent looking world but with gore and foul language!
OMG, Thank you, i thought i was full of crap because a lot of people, who indeed were, told me the Xbox Conker remake wasn't censored, or tried to twist my mind further in that the N64 original was censored to begin with! I only played the N64 version through weak emulation on my 2004 laptop back around 2005-06 and didn't touch it again till the release of the Rare Replay collection. I never got far in any attempt of Conker, but i did always remember from the far distant past literally seeing and hearing the Great Mighty Poo swear in his fight! I truly was never too interested to look into this matter before reading your comment, um...LOL i guess? I do admit that i was really interested in picking up the Xbox remake indeed for the graphics since Conker and other animals had realistic traits like fur and better use of dynamic atmospheric lighting that looked much better from early screen captures of the N64 release!
@@marukuanfuni I played both and the Xbox remake is by no means a bad game, it's just a shame mostly that a lot of aspects was changed but it can very much still be an enjoyable experience
Live and Reloaded is absolutely gorgeous... But I feel like the animations dipped just a little.
Honestly, lar is my favorite version of conkers bad fur day. It's a better game, but bad fur day is a funny game first, gameplay second
30 fps is fine…. On a 7” screen. 😂
XB1 also happened to come at a time when some big titles like CoD were playable at 1080p on PS4 but only 720p on Xbox, so Xbox 720 would have been a particularly bad name for the 360's successor.
The quick resume glitches are certainly annoying but they are rather rare.
The only one I ever get, although I will say it’s pretty consistent, are the online glitches. Halo infinite, outsiders, etc. - quick resuming these games would break online multiplayer every single time til restart
I'm an Xbox guy through and through, always have been, but God damn does the quick resume really suck. I would rather restart my game (which takes 60 seconds with an SSD max) and have no glitches than quick resume a game, make progress, then some game breaking glitch happens and I have to restart anyway. It's always not worked well for me no matter what game. Online functionality doesn't work right with it most of the time too.
I must be really unlucky them
49:57 Quick resume works very consistently well. It will literally say when it's available for a game (and it is for most), the only times where it doesn't work is for online games that require you to always be online. Which is obviously hard to do, when for example, your console is not even plugged in.
And you can actually manually remove games from Quick Resume, if it really bothers you.
The problem is that you can't even access an app without it going into sleep mode.
@@deathtrooper2048turn off sleep mode ya goof

It really made me smiling seeing Peter Molyneux talking about Project Milo. Man can't tell anything without lying at least a little.
I got my 360 late to the game. When I went to buy it at Target (where my buddy worked) they were sold out of the Pro, so I had to get the Arcade. In the end it was a wash on price as they had hard drives on clearance and I needed an ethernet cable. It ended up being fun watching people's reactions to the white drive rather than the typical silver. It red ringed on me just before the extended warranty window expired, so I got it fixed on Mr. Gate's dime. It worked for many years after, even when a lightning strike to the apartment building took out the HDMI port (and my router and a few other things), I just switched to composite and it kept going! I sold it years back, but regret it now.
This is a great take on time periods. I lived through all of this. I hated the DMR part of it, living in a small town in NY. You nailed the AI part of xbox. I'll tell you MW2. The game chat was crazy. There are so many bad words at the same time, with ppl talking over each other. As someone who bought a day one xbox one. I have a lot of memories of me and my gf say "xbox turn off" or xbox turn to channel 25(espn).
Microsoft cancelling three Xbox One exclusives (Phantom Dust Remake, Fable Legends and Scalebound) is probably the main reason why the console didn't attract much customers and their first party line-up being weak compared to the OG Xbox and the 360.
Quick resume is amazing. If you primarily play single player games its great, not having to go through the whole boot up and loading screens when booting up a game and getting straight back into the game from where you left off rather than whenever your last checkpoint was is great. There is definitely some issues using it with games that constantly require internet access to play but for the post part the feature works perfectly more than not. Its a bit jarring when i decide to switch over to my PS5 and forget i cant just instantly switch between games or just right back into a game as soon as my console starts up
I HATE Quick Resume. It constantly breaks with games, results in Xbox 360 games needing to just reload anyway, crashes on every online game it works with. It’s so damn annoying.
@jstyxx4110 seems to vary by person (and even by game, in my experience). For me, it also normally goes immediately to where I was in the game, as if I just paused it, instead of waking it from sleep mode.
A key point as to why Xbox Series games are not running at their full potential is because of the Series S and developers having to make sure it works on it too as Microsoft promised all Series games would work with the S. I think it definitely hinders developers being able to go all out on utizling the Series X capabilities.
Not only that but they made the Series S less powerful and optimizable than the series X which made no complete sense they really did made it harder to fully optimize their games to the highest level.
And to compound it even further, out of both xsx/xss, xss is the majority of console number sold out of the two.
Than have modes for series s and series X take a page from pc and develop graphics configurations for series s and series x
Their biggest failure is failing to create another exclusive worth playing besides Halo. That franchise is the only reason Xbox still exists as a brand today.
And even the "worth playing" part was dropped by the time Xbox One came out lol.
360 Netflix really pissed me off because they bumped up prices of gold using 3rd party features and apps they pushed as an excuse saying it cost alot to maintain then immediately discontinued Netflix parties next big update.
Videos like these really tell me why I don’t think highly of Xbox anymore…
Had a Xbox One and Series X for a while and tbh they're disappointing consoles. The 360 may not have been the best but it did have some really interesting games.
@@MoonlightBelladonna i agree, the 360 wasn’t perfect but man it had some of the best games ever
But I still prefer my big ass VCR lookin ass OG Xbox
Imagine being laughed at the room by one of your enemies and then immediately taking one of the things important to that enemy
This is a great video, glad to see you branching out
It seems Microsoft didn’t learn from Sony’s mistake when they announced that they were shutting down their PSN store and backpedaled on that after severe backlash from loyal PlayStation fans.
I sure hope Milo is in this video. The most brazen, outrageous, bold-faced lie Microsoft ever said at E3.
I forgot about the hololens. I remember seeing a news story where it was placed on an ISS resupply rocket, so the guys on the station could mess around with it or something. They didn't get to, though. The unmanned rocket blew up after takeoff. That's the last thing I heard about the hololens.
Biggest mistake Xbox has ever made: not firing Phil Spencer
Not firing Don Mattrick sooner was their biggest mistake. He nearly killed Xbox and now Phil is trying to makeup for 6-7 years of mistakes. He was behind the Kinect which was the beginning of the downfall of Xbox. He was also behind the Xbox one being a tv dvr and having drm.
@@alec2456 are you serious? Or just really dumb? Phil took over in 2014, he’s been head of Xbox for almost 10 years straight now, and the brand has only gotten less and lesser relevant. The Series consoles are selling significantly worse than the Xbox One. The Series consoles launched with literally no games. Under Don Mattrick, the XB1 actually had a good launch line up and it was selling only slightly behind the PS4. Now PS5 is outselling 4:1! Don never “nearly killed” Xbox, that’s just lies that Phil Spencer worshippers like to push, it has no basis in reality when you look at sales and games released. Since Phil has taken over, Xbox has gotten significantly less games and sales have collapsed. These are objective truths. Phil killed Xbox, they’re about to become the next Sega, but you fools can still keep trying to pin it on Don an entire decade later 🤦♂️
Of the consoles with multi-platform titles, I was always a Playstation guy. Although not by choice, since I originally desired the 360 as a kid, but got a PS3 as a gift instead and got hooked through that. I only recently got a 360, so I could finally play its exclusives (along with some of the OG Xbox games), since it's retro now. Unless Microsoft does some serious course-correcting in the future, I don't see myself ever getting the newest Xbox console, if it doesn't offer anything different from what my Sony and Nintendo consoles, or even a high-end PC, already has.
God of War 3 changed my life, I was team Playstation from that point on.
This is the same case for PlayStation now. The only truly unique console is Switch.
If you really love OG Xbox and 360 then I implore you to get a newer Xbox. It’s insanely amazing how good those old games look in native 4K, insane how fast they load, and being able to quick resume those games is awesome/mind blowing lol
I remember wrapping my 360 on a towel 😂
Microsoft replaced mine twice.
If there's one "mistake" I missed from the Xbox was the Snapping system. I thought it was really useful.
Same, I used to use it all the time to watch videos while playing games. I’m sure the current gen consoles could handle it too
If they doubled down on it and worked on it, it honestly could’ve been a staple feature going forward. Not a significant feature but one that would come to be liked and well known on the console
Never get why they had to cut that off.
The Xbox 360 was so ahead of its time. It was like having a PC hooked up to your TV. That analogy only got more accurate as time went on with the Windows and Xbox integration stuff. I remember playing Skyrim on my PC while in an Xbox Live Party with friends playing Halo or CoD on Xbox. We take features like this for granted nowadays but Xbox Live really innovated a lot of how we game online today.
I had no idea people complained about the xbox cable length...it was really long compared to the game cube.
Yeah, I remember it being really long and the first one to have a breakaway connector close to the plug to prevent tripping damage. I didn't buy my Xbox until Splinter Cell came out so maybe the short cable was only on release units?
Good job I know this video was old good job I really enjoyed it you brought back a lot of memories of my childhood thank you keep up the good work
Man there is basically nothing more nostalgic for me other than the Xbox 360 startup sequence.
Worst Xbox mistake: Misshandle franchises on its bag, they have a lot of properties they should keep their interest on, from the underrated Crimson Skies and Blinx from the OG Xbox to the entirety of Rare. Master Chief shouldn't be all by himself on the cover, Nintendo to this day still has prominent franchises showing on front and Playstation had a lot of that same back in the PS3 era with Killzone, Little Big Planet and such.
Xbox can't just ask to live peacefuly from Gamepass.
Damn this video is awesome. Another awesome rocket sloth upload
To this day I still can’t believe what they got away with when it came to Kinect. 90% of it was a flat out lie and they knew this. Suprised nobody sued for false advertising
I've been an Xbox gamer since 2001 when I got the console that Christmas with Halo CE and DOA3. It's interesting to see how it's changed. OG Xbox was kind of weird in that it was a powerful console and had a lot of PC ports and whatnot. 360 was the sweet spot. Xbox Live Arcade and Xbox Live itself were groundbreaking and I still play some of those XBLA games today. All that said, the One launch was bad. Don and his team nearly killed the entire brand with all that always-on, DRM, mandatory Kinect, TV TV TV, bullshit they pulled. Phil did a lot to right the ship, but it's still not perfect. There's still not really any killer app exclusive game on the system, for example, and I get the criticism that if you have a gaming PC you don't need an Xbox. But for me, I like all the backwards compatibility, Game Pass is a great service, and it's still where most of my friends still play.
I was an Xbox since 2001 too. Became an expert at fixing RROD on the 360. But the MCC being broken on release convinced me to sell my XB1 and I haven't been back. I'll just use GeForce Now to play Starfield.
The initial Xbox One announcement was just ahead of its time and I saw the potential at that time. Yes there were issues with it though
It's 2024 and this list needs to be super appended, lol.
43:51 ElDewrito, while it can't be worked on anymore, can still be played, although because of people thinking it's gone and the release of MCC, the playerbase has pretty much died off with at most around 10-16 players on a day.
Before MCC released, there was almost always around 100 players on at any given time, now its basically those that mostly only like mini-game type games since mini-games in MCC kinda suck because of forge being far more limiting in MCC.
We know that elevator rides are just glorified loading screens, but sometimes they are part of the worldbuilding. Like the "elevator ride" at the start of BioShock when you first see Rapture. Also, whether glorified loading screens or not, elevators are a great visual way to show the player that they are entering a new area.
I used to like the connect when my friend came over and play NBA start flipping out and get a technical foul. That was pretty cool.
This video aged really well
There are more and more that have come since this video lul
Unironically miss Xbox snap. Would listen to podcasts while playing Halo 5 - it was a different time.
Went from ps2 -> 360 -> ps4 -> pc. I enjoy gamepass in its current iteration, but I gotta say, Microsoft has really dropped the bag in terms of gaming since the 360.
Let's be real
I never touched a play station till I was like 20
But the Duelshock controller really was the best on the market at that time.
The dream cast, original Xbox and N64 controller were ridiculous hunks of plastic and that's why the duelshock stuck around while Nintendo and Xbox went through redesigns
The RROD wasn't caused by cold solder joints. It was a design error in the GPU which allowed for pliability of "fill-in" material, which was meant to stabilise connections, at normal game playing temperatures
I haven't touched Xbox since the 360 days. And might get the series x one day
Yeah, about 7 times out of 10 the quick resume works for me and I love that feature but there are definitely times in games where a reboot means NOT starting exactly where you left off that it kinda' lets me down. To what you said toward the end about some games running at 30 fps, it's definitely not a deal breaker for me but there are times that it's jarring. Like for about 3 months before Starfield came out I was playing the X/S version of Skyrim Anniversary and it was a beautiful, fluid 60 fps. Then I got Starfield and it was just such an insane feeling to see that this huge new flagship game (the one game I actually purchased the Series X for) ran at 30 when a game I've been playing for like 12 years was running at 60 and just totally outperforming a brand new 2023 game. I understand that Skyrim was nothing like this when it came out back in the day, but still. It was just a very weird thing for me. 😆 Nice video.
A lot of older games and some newer games do have shorter loading screens in the series x, of about a couple seconds, compared to the older consoles which would take a longer to load. I actually appreciate this feature when I get kicked out of a PUBG match and I'm able to load into the match within 20 seconds😂 😂😂
I absolutely loved the snap features, I could play halo and watch football at the same time. I wish they would bring it back
43:50 Something I want to mention about Eldewrito. Microsoft didn't force them to shut it down, the team just couldn't make anymore updates to the game. After the team got that notice, that's when they did that big overhaul to look like Halo 3 and pretty much fixed every known issue. They essentially made their last update so good that they wouldn't have to worry about updating it anymore.
However, as the years went on and MCC on pc got more and more patches, all the people from Eldewrito jumped ship to MCC. You can still play Eldewrito, but you'll be hard pressed to find anyone on there.
You forgot Launch Xbox One had DDR3 which is wayyy slower than Launch PS4's GDDR5 ram and cause of that, it ran worse and at lower resolution and couldn't keep with more demanding games in the later part of the generation
Honestly I miss the snap feature, it was probably my favorite non-gaming feature
bruh literally not a single person outside of some journalists that dont even play games complained about the way the girls were dressed in doa
3:14 they had the similar for PS2 (the DVD addon) because I bought one myself, memories
The ds2 is by default a dvd remote which the xbox didn’t do until the 360
4:10 Saw that commercial 8 to 10 years ago and necer thought of it till now. Had no idea it was an xbox commercial.
Yeah, I agree that the Xbox One definitely had a messy release. I also think they bought rare to spite Nintendo. 😂
39:25 not a decent idea, u still have to wait until its fully done to get access to MP, Campaign, or whatever 3rd mode
Edit: 45:48 bring back 1 year gold
50:00 50/50 chance with some games that has smart resume features
My issue with conker wasn't the changes to the story, but the changes to its multi-player. All they had to do was remake it and maybe add some new maps. But the MP for Conkers was lackluster in comparison to the N64 OG version.
Awesome content

Yooo I was not expecting a Janesville shoutout!
SAME I literally jumped lol
@Crailtep literally lmfao. Like what are the odds the city only 15 minutes away from me in little Ole Wisconsin would have such a shoutout. Its literally the Leonardo Decaprio pointing at the TV meme
The only games I really played on my Xbox was halo 1, unreal championship on XBOX live and DOA Extreme Beach Volleyball. Chicks and fun, casual gameplay. .. it was awesome.
Great vid
When it comes to the quick resume works with single player games. I play a bunch of forza and it works perfectly. If you make sure to close your games out it won’t mess up
Seemingly a little known tidbit about the TV situation of the Xbox One: it actually started on the Xbox 360 when Xbox struck a deal with Canadian telcomms giant Telus to bring their TV service to the 360 late in the 7th generation. From what I remember at the time it was only Telus that did this and it wasn’t even done in many other countries to my knowledge, if any (correct me if I’m wrong though). Us Canadian 360 owners always just ignored it so I’m not sure what made Microsoft think it needed to become the focal point of the Xbox One at launch, but it was pretty funny and sad seeing that
i went to future shop in niagara falls when i was a kid with my dad on christmas, he bought me the limited edition halo 3 xbox 360 and it came to like $900 CAD after taxes and he looked astounded at the price. still the best presesnt ever.
I remember when the Kinect came out my gym teacher said he was going to buy one and let us play it on the last day and someone asked "why?"
I'll forever be amazed that my Xbox 360 never got the red ring of death. I sometimes left my 360 on for a week or more
The fact that Xbox can market their console for 4K 120 fps and 8K without any backlash goes to show how broken the laws in our world are. You can say what ever you want to gain popularity and increase sales, even straight up lies and get away with it.
PS5 is the same. Look at a PS5 box. They advertise 8K 120 fps.
@@threefiveseven Infact PS 5 box only advertises 4K 120 fps, but good try. 8K is mentioned as well but not as 120 fps
Probably the biggest mistake (I don't think) not mentioned was when Rockstar approached Microsoft before sony to have GTA 3 launch as an og xbox exclusive. And they turned it down.
Snapping was the best. That's about the only thing I miss from the OG Xbox One feature list.
People forget that Xbox had free online for a time, UNTIL they commodified it as a digital service. They didn't open the floodgates to online and make people pay for it, that came later when they realized how popular it was.
I did use that pizza app to order a few times. Definitely was easier to just call but it was something fun and goofy at least.
I see why a lot of the goofy stuff was done away with. Not good to clutter the UI and menus, then spend money to upkeep them or maintain rights when it isn't profitable. But stuff like that was still neat.
I can't believe people expected a $500 console to run at 4K 120 FPS 🤣
I remember Achievement Hunter/RoosterTeeth did a video showing off how you could order a pizza with your XBox. I thought it was the coolest thing ever, and then i proceeded to totally forget about it and never used it once lol
well nintendo kind of doubled down on shooting yourself in the foot when launching a console with the WIIU.
I’m convinced that Phail Spencer is a PlayStation double agent. 😂
Most games that run at 30 fps don't do it for artistic reasons. If they do, then cool. Most these 30 fps games are just poorly optimized; the devs lock it at 30 even though theyll probably push 40-50 just so they dont get complaints about frame drops because their game sucks.
I am a larger male humanoid, I always liked the large original controller. When you fired a gun that big controller really shook it was nice. If I had a choice I would always choose larger controller 😊
You guys forgot to mention that they released the xbox one twice within the same decade. Does Xbox project Scorpio ring a bell? similar to Project Scarlett, I think Scorpio was just for looks if I remember.
I'm a Steam Deck player now, but I was a fan of Xbox. Great video.
Phil Spencer did so much damage to the Xbox brand. It is insane.
The 360 was named as such because the 360 is what Microsoft envisioned the original Xbox being.
Internally, it was them "coming full circle" due to the initial ideas of what they thought the original Xbox could be during the brainstorming and preproduction phases.
AND they got rid of the ability to upload your DVR recordings to youtube after they got rid of the SNAP feature.
To be fair, that kid technically cheated.
Also I love the Xbox names, I’ve always hated putting 2, 3, & 4 behind the name.
I haven’t had issues with smart resume, also just shut down the game to turn off smart resume.
Love this video keep up the good work. I own all platforms. The xbox360 was one of my all time favorite consoles.
31:04 funny thing I lived in Blacksburg Virginia at the time this whole nonsense happened😂Of course I almost skipped Xbox one for all the reasons mentioned here. Ended up buying xbox one s for Halo 4/5 but never bought more games because there weren't that many games I'm interested in that can be played only on xbox. Never returned to xbox franchise either
Me when I hear the narration and instantly realize, RocketElijah is not this guys only channel: 🤯😵
A personal one I have is them not including a gyroscope in their controllers. I really like gyro aiming and would to see it in as many games as possible, but it’s a bit hard when they’re the only ones without. Nintendo and Sony has it, mobile has it, and pc can utilize it with input remappers. I just don’t want Microsoft to hold back a feature that will be optional to players especially when it gives mouse-like accuracy to controllers.
They are not doing it, because it will kill their vision of people being able to play their games on Xboxes, PC's, phones or on the cloud. If one of these devices requires a gyro sensor while the others don't have it, it completely eliminates that vision.
Literally the only person I've ever known to like gyro controls. Really disturbing.
The thing is if they included a gyroscope all platforms would have parity, because of course Xbox would have it. Xinput would most likely be updated to included covering the pc side of things. And most mobile devices have a gyroscope in them (the screen rotation thing wouldn’t happen without it) and Xbox has used gyro for aiming on xcloud on mobile before. The only problem there would be is older controllers wouldn’t be able to use it, but for an OPTIONAL feature that shouldn’t be all too big of a problem.
Microsoft has sold and licensed out controllers that included features like total remapping, turbo modes, back buttons, swappable thumbsticks, etc. But a thing that’s in most devices is too far. I just want Xbox players to have the option to have it. It sucks seeing them be excluded from having gyro in games like Fortnite, CoD, and Deathloop (which is available on console and pc) all because they don’t have supported hardware and it’s the only platform where it happens.
I just wanna see more options. If someone wanted to use a mouse and keyboard on console I think they should be allowed to in any title. I want gyro as an option because I personally never liked using sticks as once console only gamer because they were imprecise, and I couldn’t use the face buttons at the same time. Gyro helped me solved those and made shooters fun for me. Even though I’m now on pc and can get in into nearly every title I can play, I still want people to have it as an option just like how Inverted camera controls are an option. It hurts nobody and gives people more.
That's one of the biggest Ws that MS did.
I loved groove music. I thought it was way better than Spotify is now
It really does seem like the series x has been a colossal failure this far into its lifespan. Microsoft can't put out a single decent AAA game for it YEARS into it's cycle. (Starfield is coming up, but this is Bethesda, known for blatant false advertisement, games that just do not work on launch and 76, which had so much broken with it and so much false advertisement that a new scandal came out about it every single week for like 8 months. I want starfield to be good, but they get no benefit of the doubt until it's in players hands and its word for word what was promised without exaggeration.)
The console just straight up is NOT as powerful as they advertised, that or coincidentally not a single game on the platform is made to take advantage of it. The damn thing can't run games seemingly any better than the xbox 1 before it. Hell, again, not only can microsoft not put out any good AAA games for it, the games that do get released on xbox all have meager performance at best in terms of frames and graphical quality. And this is after no one being able to get their hands on it for a year into it's lifespan. This console is so far away from what was promised and is seen as a clear lesser by most to the point of being considered false advertisement on what this console would be by a handful of the community. I don't have a horse in this race, but Microsoft has been a completely shit company over the last decade as far as ANYTHING gaming goes. Just look at how they killed off their flagship IP so unceremoniously and unapologetically.
Alot of people are hoping they get blizzard so they can light a fire under their asses and make them do something decent with their IPs for once. I personally want starcraft revived instead of the unofficial death it's in now, but look at halo and tell me Microsoft is in any way competent of making sure the developer teams they own do any work at all.
That was much bs.. thanks. 😂
@@dusermiginte4647imagine criticizing without a rebuttal. “I do not like your opinion and I disagree” thanks for that fascinating contribution to the conversation. 🙄 nothing they said was wrong.
@@dusermiginte4647try again. Nearly hafway through the Series X market lifespan and only 2 games built exclusively for the Series X and its hardware and those games do not even perform in any way that pushes current gen hardware capabilities.
They claimed the SSD will revolutionise gaming. PS5 was revealed to have their SSD performing faster, MS ditched the SSD promotion. Touted as "World's most powerful console" again, PS5 was shown to out perform the Series X in every category and MS changed their slogan to "World's most powerful Xbox."
MS bragged about their TFlop count, after Mark Cerny in the Road to PS5 event stated and explained very clearly how relying on Tflop count is a dangerous metric to base performance on, MS stopped bragging about their Tflop count with Matt Booty and Phil Spencer publicly stating that graphics dont make a good game, it's about how fun the game is when you play it. I agree with that statement for the most part, but this statement from them is contradictory to their entire promotional model where "power" and "performance" was what they initially declared is necessary for the industry to move forward.
I have an Xbox One used for my entire OG Xbox and 360 physical collection and Titanfall. I have zero incentive to own a Series X aside for a possible increase in frames on some titles, this incentive is not worth the $500 investment.
Starfield is the only title I am interested in, but I have enough PS5 and PS4 exclusives to still play, so maybe 2-3 years from now I may get it then. By the time that happens, PS6 will be on its way so I may end up skipping the Series X all together.
What about Forza Motorsport?
Hey, what about Blinx: The Time Sweeper? Bah, he's a forgotten mascot, anyway.
I understand why people don't like a personality change in reboots, but a prequel? It's a prequel, chances are they're gonna have a different personality. Also, I personally think it's funny they tried selling people posters of the Red Ring of Death.
22:38 what's the thing on top of the xbox in that shot?
og xbox era and early 360 era were so incredible.... and then just... so so so very bad....
I honestly think the Xbox Ones failed launch is the single worst thing they did. It crippled their reputation, destroyed their potential sales. As well as leaving the state of xbox the way it did. All thanks the Don
I kinda miss the snap feature. It was kinda nifty if i was achievement hunting and looking for a youtube guide
Where is the positivity for eggbox mr rocket?
Don’t forget them promising Minecraft with ray tracing a few years back on console.
STILL WAITING…
Ray Tracing is rather unnecessary for a rather simple looking game. It's like implementing an advanced Xbox One reflective texture on an N64 model.
After very limited exposure to the originl Xbox on my part, the Xbox 360 was my console of choice for its generation, and I had some of the best gaming memories of my adult life on it, then the Xbox One happened and I didn't even consider it once, I just kept playing the 360 until 2018 when I finally bought a PS4, and half the time I don't even remember what the current Xbox console is called because I keep confusing it with the name of that late-model Xbox One.
the duke was a masterpiece in my opinion
This whole video is the reason why i've been playstation from day 1. While nowadays xbox is represented in my house with all 3 consoles up to but not including the series X, playstation is my console in my room and living room
18:40 "So in turn the Goldeneye that released on the Wii was this different game based on the film version of Goldeneye"
The original game is literally based on the film.. And Rare was working on a remaster, not a remake.
Also Goldeneye is sold on Xbox, it's part of Rare Replay.
