I know this is a two year old video but I too am getting on the more senior side of life but my solution was, as well as the double bubble screen, (from powerbronze!) I fitted the higher bars from a 2008+ Sprint ST1050 to my 2002 955i . They give even more rise than the risers I had and don't clutter up the cockpit with blocks of aluminium and don't look out of place (they also dont cover the fork pre-load adjustment). The standard length cables and brake hoses are just long enough to accommodate this conversion . The only downside is that the switchgear does make contact with the screen supports on full lock. However, this doesnt affect riding or maneuvering, so I'm staying with these for now.

Could I ask where your bar risers came from? Could you post part numbers? Have a similar predicament with my RS and owuld love to resolve rather than changing bike. You can neveer get tired of that RS engine

DrJohn says: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133742993528?hash=item1f23b42078:g:YpgAAOSwc2NgUJHj (and it was a PowerBronze doublebubble) I hope that is of use 👍

@@CodgerBiker I have the same problem with achy wrists and need bar risers I like the idea of the ones with the sleeve. I have looked on the above link but it says that this page is unavailable. What is the brand name of these risers ? maybe I can find them on other sites. Cheers.

Thinking of buying a 2004 It has 40,000 is that to many. All the reviews I read says it’s very dependable.

    Hi Codger,
Can you please consider reducing the volume of the intro? It's 30 dB louder than the rest of the clip.
By the way I switched to an R 3 weeks ago.
    Rode my S 32490 km.
Put a S seat on the R. Slightly taller than the S. Approx. 860 mm vs 850 mm.
    Height ok barely.
    I'm 6,06 ft. 185 cm.
The R suspension is much nicer.
I'm watching all your videos 👍

Hi Chris. Yes there is not much headroom I have reduced it for future use 👍 I thought you were quiet, how is it going?

      Great. Thanks.
You have been a little quiet also lately.
      You good? Bike done?
We are having a really nice weekend.
A short 190 km trip today.
A 450 km trip planned for tmrw.
      Riding with 2 friends.
      1x 790 S and 1x Honda NCX.
      Small roads and some gravel.

Have only ridden the new bike 2300 km so far. Picked it up aug 19.
Like it a lot. Very happy.
All accesories transfered from the S to the R. A lot of money saved 😊
Did a low side on tarmac a few weeks ago.
Bike and I slid approx 20 m on the road. Ended up beside the road.
Hand guards, tank guard, peg and rack took the slide very well. Me to. Some bruises only. Jacket and pants ruined.

It wasn't my bike sorry. But there is a limit I suspect due to cables and brake lines. John recently went for 850 Sport to be more upright. 👍
