It's getting close to Christmas and we head into the mountains to stay a few days at my off-grid river-side cabin. We prep for winter by building a woodshed, harvesting firewood and taking care of odds and ends around the property. We make home-made pasta, home-made sourdough pretzels and beer cheese, and home made egg nog. We decorate the cabin for Christmas as the snow begins to fall, and make sure everything is ready for winter adventures there.

I absolutely love your videos. I used to live in British Columbia and I used to do absolutely everything that you're doing, including car repair. Now I'm regulated to my bed or my chair and I'm quite ill quite disabled but my heart and my mind is terribly active.

You won't like the smell of them but if you want to keep the mice away put Moth balls in or around your things & they will stay away. DO NOT PUT OUT DE-CON, because that draws them in. We used to have a Pop-up Camper & our friends did as well, we used Moth Balls in ours & we NEVER had any mice damage they on the other hand used DE-Con & any cloth that they had in theirs was torn up & chewed up by mice & they had nests all over the place. ours was just as clean come Spring as it was when we shut it up the Fall before.....

Since my Husband & I are both Disabled & the Government won't allow us to have any type of a savings account { If we want to keep our Health Ins. & food Stamps} We just have to stay where we are. We can't have a garden of any kind & for sure NO CHICKENS... So we just have to make dooooo....

Just a small tip for efficiency, will surely save you some time cutting wood into smaller peaces. Since they probably have the same length, tie around 10ish together with something like a tension belt.
You don't have to aim that well, get it done faster plus you don't have to stand up each piece and bend over as much.

Getting some snow falling here in SW Japan. We usually get dusted with snow once or twice a winter, but getting it just before Christmas is really nice. Sadly it won't stay, but nice to watch! Merry Christmas to you!
