I love the voice acting for Garrus in this part.
As someone who’s played Mass Effect a lot, this is probably the only scene where I’ve heard that tone of pure anger and vengeance from Garrus.

This was actually my favorite loyalty mission. Sure I would have expected Garrus to punch Harkin's teeth off or stomp his knees but damn that was funny to see a human get beaten up by a turian.

I wonder if you encourage Garrus to be vengeful and ruthless through the first 2 games, does anything change in the 3rd? Or perhaps within the 2nd.
if in ME 1 you encouraged him to renegade path and if in ME 2 during his loyalty mission (the talk with him in the place right before SR schematics) Shepard starts paragon crap, Garrus will say "Surprised to hear it from you". That's the only effect from ME1, and no effects from ME2 to 3 =( (he is not the only one "effetcless" character). So in general that renegade path in ME 1, killing traitor in ME2 change nothing.
Garuss with age and wartime is just becoming more mature and ruthless because of that war (but still a noob in romance and still your best friend). Just in ME1 it's like teacher (Shep) - student (Garrus) - he even thanks you for letting him join your crew and says he's learnt a lot (but already in ME 1 he was inclined to renegade path if you talk to him and actually listen). In ME2 he is very dissapointed by politicians/war/by loosing his own squad which he had formed the same way after looking at Shepard in ME1. It just added another portion of severity to him (doesn't matter if he let that traitor go, he still was dissapointed).
And here comes the moment in ME 2 when a romance should be in place as before the SM he, as Jack, actually says interesting things about his real feelings including those evens with his former crappy work, traitor etc.
And in ME3 he is already a Man with formed views but if in ME1 and 2 Shepard supported Garrus, in ME3 Shepard is already tired to deal with idiots all the time and Garrus supports Shepard (only with romance it is even more visible actually - more severe in combat matters but still romantic =) but male Shepards will never know that he is romantic or at least tries to be - but he is already very good at it in ME3 BUT only with Fem Shepard).

Man, Garrus is in a really dark place here. My eager and excited Turian C-Sec agent turned into a broken vigilante nearly consumed by revenge. Shepard doesn’t deserve to say “I understand.” Until he has his entire crew, practically his family killed because of one man.

Even though I aproove Talid's death, I think you did the right thing by sparing Harkin. He's a criminal as well, sure, but unlike Talid, C-Sec does know that fact, so he can be brought justice.

I personally feel like if you encourage Garrus to take the shot, his sniper rifle starts visually changing a little. He starts to make it resemble a scythe. Which in my head was triggered by some one mentioning the Grim Reaper in ear shot of him, so he got curious. Then researched it, then modified his rifles stand to resemble a scythe blade when its ready to be used, and a recoil support when collapsed.
This vid, you tackle the loyalty missions in the Citadel which are Garrus's and Thane's. Starting with Garrus's mission to look for Sidonis leading to deal with Blue Sun, well now all 3 mercenary organizations are back in business. Apparently, they had help from the inside, a former C-Sec officer Harkin. At the warehouse, a ton of Blue Sun fighters were in there, and possibly heavy resistance as in those YMIR mechs, ok, how did they name the mech types, by Nordic Gods, what, so the ultimate of Mechs is the Odin Mech or something? Ok now I actually want am thinking how powerful the Odin Mech is, I guess nearly as tough as a reaper. Yikes, Garrus has become alot more rough on the edges, oh well at least he's not trusting of criminals. Seems Sidonis's betrayal really rung his bells really hard as he is going to kill either way. Then the plan begins by meeting Sidonis in person but you warn him that Garrus will fire at him, I will say you are doing the right thing I guess as it turns out he completely regretted it. Anyways, at least that has ended well, and that Garrus sees that Sidonis is still a good person. Next mission, Thane's loyalty mission.

Thomas Kasich I'm playing Mass Effect for the first time and I use both paragon and renegade based on my personality.
Okay. Sorry 4 the outburst. it's nice to know someone, other than me, picks dialogue options based on personality. I just find it annoying to pick all paragon or all renegade dialogue options.
I, for one, favor mixing it up - it builds character.

Thomas Kasich I'm the exact same way, I'm mainly paragon but I go renegade in some situations like killing people, torturing Elias (forgot his last name), allowing zaeed to burn the foundry down, and such.
