What you described as the Nattō Flavour is actually the Ammoniumchloride in the liqurice-drops, a salt of Ammonia, which is build in the Nattō :)

    • @Sahnor
      @Sahnor Před 7 lety +7

That special flavour is called Salmiak.
And we germans dont eat it as a sweet or crisp in front of the television.
To me it is more used as an "over the day mint", as in you are riding the train all day long, have a dry mouth and bad breath, but no chance to brush your teeth, so suck on a Sallos and you are good.
Sallos is liked among the grown up people, most teenager prefer chewing gum.

Kinder is from Ferrero an Italian company. But the product is German and it means children. Kinderschokolade has a milk cream filling inside. Happy Hippos got a cocoa cream filling. That simple...Hippo in German is Nilpferd. Those Giottos are filled with a milk hazelnut creme and are Italian. First introduced to the German markekt in 1996. Named after the Italian painter Giotto die Bondone. He built the Campanile del Giotto in Florence. It is shown on the packaging. We love it to go with an espresso or any Italian coffee. The black licorice candy got some aniseed flavoring to it. Sallos candy have some licorice juice in there and for the color they use vegetable carbon (E-153) and herbal extracts. Most of the licorice candies here contain ammonium sulfite or ammonium chloride (Salmiak). Slightly different. ;-) But this makes the unique flavoring. ^__^ Greetings from Germany

Ingredients: Glucose syrup, sugar, vegetable fat (hydrogenated), 3% liquorice juice, food colouring: ammonia caramel, 1.8% ammonium chloride, emulsifier: soy lecithin, flavouring, table salt, herbal extracts. Hey Boys, hope you read and answer this comment even if it is on an soooo old vid. First, in Scandinavia, Netherlands and Germany there are mainly 3 different types of Liquorice. American people mostly known the sweet ,maybe little tangy one made with Süßholzwurzel. It is mainly used by brands like Twizzlers, Haribo, Katjes, Red Band, Manaco... Then there is Anis favoured Liquorice. You had it with some hard candy before . It has an Liquorice Type taste but is much more strong and a little bitter. The Anis Plant is used in Greece drinks and so. The last one is the Salmiak One. That is what the Sallo Hard Candy was made of. The Süßholzwurzel is also used but the extreme strong flavour you both hated comes from the Salmiak Salt. Hope I could give you a little help to European Liquorice

Hi Guys, you have got some very popular German treats there. Kinder (meaning children) the chocolate bar is filled with milk as you already thought. Bueno is very popular filled with hazelnut creme. And the Kinder Happy Hippo is filled with whipped creme and chocolate creme. The licorice is salted thats why its so intense. Lind is lovely chocolate (sooooo smooth) the salt really brings out the falvour of the chocolate. And yes you are righ its Cherry and Chilli chocolate, I personally love the combination, again the chilli really brings out the flavour. :)

FERRERO is an Italian company selling a lot sweets in Germany. Giotto is named after Giotto di Bondone(1266-1337) a famous painter from Florence of the early Rennaissance age. ( for example the frescos in the ARENA CHAPEL there ). Jahnke is from the Middle High German for"Coated", as a noun it also means "Jacket". OK, it still exists a regional form of German but not Highgerman so you wouldn´t find it in an average dictionary. Also in Bavaria expressed as JANCKER

well the licorice like thing should be well licorice but maybe it contains more or salmiak. which is ammoniumchloride i think. Licorice for children only has little of it but for adults has more. (Natto are fermented beans or something like that right? it would make sense to taste salmiak like as wel lfermentation usually is in a salty environment and is actually the breakdown of amines to ammonia or ammoniumsalts.)

"Anis" in english "Anise" see Wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anise
Anis is a strong herb, with its own flavor, most famously used in the Liquor Absinthe aka "Grüne Fee" : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absinthe

If you liked PickUp, you should try the other PickUps, too^^ Yours was
the original version, but there are Black n White (my favorite) and
    sometimes other special versions, too.
Oh...and fact about Kinder Happy Hippo: When I was a child, it was my favorite sweet. That time it looked a bit different and tasted more like what Kinder Bueno is right now. It's named after famous collectable figures from the Kinder Überraschungs Ei and got it's shape from them.
I love snack tasting videos, especially german ones of course^^
And...poor you with that licorice-taste things...I dislike these as well. I'd describe them the same way japanese people explained me Natto: Either you hate it or you love it. It's the same. Half german people love them while the others would never eat them.

personally i dont know anyone who likes salty liquorice.
