What About Lucky Dube?
Dude your list is biased. What about The Great Lucky Dube?
Exactly
Lol Lucky won't get in the top 10 my friend. We're talking about Jamaican pure reggae and you're talking about African reggae. Lucky Dube won't even make the first 30 in the world trust me. There are more reggae artists who even didn't get in the Top ten.
@@Rebelmuzikk lucky dube should be there.. even majek fashek
@@Rebelmuzikk whaaaatttt??. Where does it state its about jamaican reggae?. So when asked about Lucky Dube you tell people that he was an african reggae musician or he was just a reggae artist?. He must be there by fire by force, dude filled arenas wherever he went, which is just a dream to most of these artists put in that garbage top ten
@@Rebelmuzikk you comment is stupid bro Like you say reggae music is Universal?? The first reggae band mentioned are from Uk but yeah his african
Great documentary 👆🏾👆🏾🔥👊🏾
Lucky dube is defiantly one of the top ten, he travelled everywhere
10. STEEL PULSE
09. SLY & ROBBIE
08. DESMOND DEKKER
07. CULTURE
06. ISRAEL VIBRATIONS
05. TOOTS & THE MAYTALS
04. PETER TOSH
03. JIMMY CLIFF
02. BURNING SPEAR
01. BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS
Where is Denis Brown, Gregory Issacs, John Holt, Alton Ellis? Maybe you should do a separate list on "Favorite Jamaican Male Singers from the '60 - '90's" ??
Althea Gray ✊🏽Amén to this comment.
And don carlos
What happened to Ladies Marcia, Cynthia Schloss, Barbara Jones?
Your list just would suffice
Peter Tosh is the greatest
💪
Bob Marley is the best tho
Let's say the lucky one
1.bob 2. Peter 3.burning spear
Yes Peter Tosh is the real king of reggae
Thanks for watching!
I would have had Third World, Gregory Isaacs and Freddie McGregor on my list. ONE LOVE PEOPLE!
Also Denis Brown of course!
What up I have been a reggae fan I've been in dancing since highschool. I was 13 I'm now 48. My story is different I don't know why I love it so much it's more than love it's it's just in me and I'm a Caucasian but as my early teens I was dating African American . I've had good and bad. When you talk about the music how nice the music was before it was peace and now it's just a lot of it the boat games and blowing people up you know it's very violent. And me I love that hardcore.. It's in my blood in my soul. My favorite is ADMIAL BAILEY. WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL I GOT INVITED TO BE AND DANCE AND IT WAS REGGAE AND I WAS THE ONLY CAUCASIAN TEENAGER. AND MY FRIEND WANTED TO SHOW ME HOW TO DANCE THE FRIENDS DIDN'T WANT ME IN THE TALENT SHOW THE FACT THAT I WAS CAUCASIAN
Lucky Dube should belong to the list
A lot of jamaicans artists who shaped reggae music, are better than him...
Are these your personal choices? Subscribed.
Lucky Dube?
DENNIS BROWN
im listening to more reggae recently. my 2 favorite are Bob Marley and Barrington Levy
Reggae relaxing my mind
What's up with Dennis Brown this list is incomplete without Mr Brown the Prince of reggae
Lucky dube?
For me culture number one
Lucky dube and majek fashek are missing on this list...
What happens to D Brown, Greggory Isaac, Jacob Miller and inner circle, third world, black uhuru, Alton Ellis, John Holt, a guess that's your list, your opinion.
Revisit the list and structure please !
R.I.P. Toots Hibbert.
Where is lucky dube... reggae king...we African recognize him as our best
We don't care
1. Peter Tosh
What about Bob Andy and Prince Buster?
Yes elite offocial, thanks for the correction. When you use the word musician i take it, you refering to a player of lnstrument or a person, who is incline. Without any prejudice, did you do a formal research to come up with these ten finalist? And also let it be known, Don Drumond is the godfather of jamaican music. You are doing a good thing for jamaica young turk. Talk to some elder jah b, striker lee. I'm hoping we just start a discourse. Keep it up mr elite official.
Lol, OK I understand your point and yes I did research.
Each has their own style and sounds. There are songs and performers. But the ultimate in voice and sound quality is DENNIS BROWN simply the BEST!!!!
Bob Marley a no number 1
Your list is incorrect without Eric Donaldson.
Eric Donaldson, I wouldn't really considered a reggae artists.
He is popular in festival finals but I don't know about his ability to tour the world. One world touring band that is missing though is Third World. They should have the spot of Israel Vibration.
Top ten is incomplete without ijahman levy
These are just Jamaican reggae acts... african acts like lucky dube and majek fashek were very iconic
There's too many great Reggae singers in Jamaica for Lucky Dube to get a spot, what about those not mentioned? Plus, it's the land of Reggae. Lucky Dube can sing after the whole of Jamaica.
@@kodienewton5544 you've never really listened to lucky dube thats why
Jamaican people came from Africa
Steel Pulse ...is the best foreign reggae band hands down, but Israel Vibration, Culture are out of the top ten, didn't have enough popular recording.
Most picks legit but where is Denis Brown, Gregory Issacs, Third World and Steel Pulse should be rated higher.
He only did 10 …the list of great reggae artist is much larger and we all agree.
It should be 1. Bob Marley 2. Peter Tosh 3. Lucky Dube, 4. Culture 5. Burning spear... Before who ever ! These are the internationally most acclaimed reggae stars whose music can never die !
Take your Lucky Dube. He's good but can't compete as there are better reggae artists
Peter Tosh is number one
PRAISE HIM ini kamoze hes one of the best too
@@Rebelmuzikk shut up your mouth Lucky dube is the greatest of all time
@@godwinadighoro2103 clown what do you know about reggae music?
All these list are your options. No of these list can compare to LUCKY DUBE, if you need reggae music go and play Lucky dube music, is not by becoming a musician first or coming from Jamaica to rate the best, LUCKY DUBE have the messages, the voice, the best ever and ever instrumental reggae that no one can dear to compose now a days. Let say the truth.
Lucky dube is the king of kings in reggae music industry !! Rip
Come on now. You cannot leave off Gregory Isaacs or Dennis Brown.
it' s wrong! in fact, you have a lack of knowlegde of reggae music, you not lived the golden years(1973-1981)you don't respect jamaicans artists, and jamaican people too..Lucky dube is a copy of peter tosh, the same way of singing, playing organ etc...Dennis Brown, gregory isaacs, max romeo, third world, black uhuru ...who contributed to making a great music, are better than lucky dube.
Lucky dude is not even in the top 200
@@former_dmcrt8614yea you can’t
What about third world? Why were they not mentioned? Where do they stand? Please keep me posted.
steel pulse fantastic
This list coulda and shoulda been way better then what is represented here.
They are many many
It's a good list but where is Sizzla or Capleton?
ALPHA BLONDY🔥🔥🔥🔥🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Where is Third world, Dennis Brown, Alton Ellis, Bunny Wailer? To name a few
👊
Reggae has different categories....
What's about Keith Hudson reggae band lion Zion
Lucky dube ???
NO Yellowman?
This list is SHIT without Lucky DUBE.
Culture Joseph Hill for me
What about Denis brown?
Not for this list......sorry
Dennis brown for me is best
@@EliteJamaicalol what 😂😂 no Dennis okay
Where is Buju Banton? What factors are you using to reach a judgement about the 10 musicians mentioned/
peter tosh the greatest ever what u talking about,
PETER TOSH IS THE one that teaches BOB ABOUT MUSIC 🎶
Perhaps the guitar not much else
What are you talking about tosh thaught bob to play the guitar, the piano, the percussion and tosh wrote get up stand up.
@@mar158 Get up Stand was a pure collaboration....
You can teach instruments but not talent
Ngige Martin teaching instruments is a talent..
Without lucky dude you failed dude
Danz 254... Lucky Dube is there already in the form of Peter Touch, for he imitated him to the ''T'' THEY ALSO FORGOT BERIS Hammond.
Without Bunny wailer, then you dont know reggae.
I jahman levi, Eric donaldson, aswad, john holt,Prince Far I,Dennis brown, Steel pulse, Freddy mcgregor, king sounds, black uhuru, leeroy sibles, the list is endless
We're talking about a very narrow list of top 10...No list can ever have a general consensus such is the incredibly broad variety in Reggae music.
What about lucky dube
Aye where is yellowman 😂
Delroy Wilson, Marcia Griffiths, Barbara Jones, Cynthia Schloss, Third World, Eric Donaldson, John Holt, Gregory Isaac Tenasaw, Jacob Miller, Dennis Brown, Pat Kelly, U-Roy, Yellow man, the Heptones, Barrington Levy, Sugar Minot and the list goes on.
Alot of musicians came out of the little island!
Peter tosh is number 4, no Denis Brown, Gregory Issacs, Bunny wailer, Barrington Levi....really?
And midnite the whole vi
Ummm ini kamoze???
It should be The Waillers.....
I get frustrated when Garnet Silk gets left out of these lists. He was Bob Marleys heir to the throne and most youth know nothing about him.
I can't believe chronnix isn't included here
Where is wailing souls😮
Where is Bunny
❤
Where is Lucky Dube?
Like if it's because of your teacher that you are here😭
Lucky Dube is the best reggae artist who made the most overall dynamic music
It ' s totally wrong,a lack of knowledge of reggae music... in fact, you don't respect jamaicans artists who shaped this music...
Wheres Alborosie?
Ina kingston town
man ....do you know that lucky dube is the gretest in africa....his music still lives in us forevor, you biased
Alkaline.
Vybz Kartel.
What about the original Gladiators ?
Ten greatest reggae musicien? Wow! DON DRUMMOND, Bunny Wailer, Jackie Mitoo, Alton Ellis. Unnu weel an come again
Learn to spell and come again
Also missing Gregory Issac
Why putting Culture number 7?
They are amazing
Fake without Lucky Dube
Natasja
They 're talking about Lucky Dube and they've left out nuff Jamaican greats, [Leroy Sibbles and the Heptones] Additionally Sibbles also played Bass a on lots of studio one track, Bob Andy was our second-best reggae songwriter to Marley, Gregory Issacs was a top-class act, no one had better, reggae voices than Dennis Brown and John Holt, other honorable mention,, Ken Booth, Delroy Wilson, Alton Ellis, Slim Smith and lady Marcia Griffiths,, this guy is a novice as it relates to the spawn of reggae,, Lucky Dube came long after the music was established by the above singers, and many more.
To come after doesn't means that je can not be ahead of (overtake the other)
Just because LUCKY DUBE is better than Bob Marley you refuse to put him in top ten list
jaH BE!
There
Why is it that UB40, Alpha Blondy & Eddy Grant are not in the list?
OF ALL TIMES ? you must be kidding ,THIS HIS IS NOT A TRUE REFLEXTION OF POPULAR REGGAE ICONS, they left many influential foundation game changers, like Jackie Mittoo,''studio one talisman'', Lynn Taitte, guitarist who played in many different studios and records, bassist Jackie Jackson ''treasure Isle'' and Leroy Sibbles ''studio one'' who was not only lead singer of the fabulous Heptone, but also bassist for studio one, along with Brian Atkinson,Taite and ATKINSON WAS THE BASSIST AND GUITARIST, backing Desmond Dekker's game changing song ''poor mi Israelites'' all these musicians are being sampled even by Sly and Robbie up to this day,, Dennis Brown is also a causality of this skewed opinion, these guys should say instead, this is MY Top ten musicians of all times, for clearly they no not the history of reggae, most of who he called are Johnny come lately, except Toots Cliff and Marley, next time do some research before such absolutely false conclusion.
I appreciate your comment unfortunately that list is based on facts and hours of research...... What is your occupation, and where do you get your info?.....
Thanks for watching!
@@EliteJamaica dude chill, or woman , your reputation doesnt even back your self assumed claims of being a reggae guru, you got less that 70 K subs, and this video has less that 30k hits, take other people's views just as you would like them to take your not try to belittle other with what you don't even have yourself.
Dude your content was very poor and bias. Who was #1 and forgot about bush doctor P tosh , Bob Nesta and Gregory. BOO
