I have a question for you: when you say to dig in and do my own research, where should I look for answers on the internet, other books, or my own feelings that come up? Also, I am from Canada too. I am curious to know where you are in Canada.
WOW!!!! ❤🙌🏼 Praise God & Welcome Home 🙌🏼 I love your question. Looks like I'll have to put a video together. Here are some of my "digging tools" (I don't think I've ever said it like that, but here we go: plain google, and I will often find articles or sermons by teachers I have known and trust their teaching. Commentaries (these are studied and go deeper into each verse) - the one I use online most often is called Enduring Word (so I will type in "Matthew 1 commentary" and choose the Enduring Word one). A Bible dictionary can be super helpful for terms and explain more about each word. Looks like I will do a video on these things. BUT with all that said, the fact that you're getting consistent and even thinking through questions and desiring finding answers... KEEP THAT SAME ENERGY! Oh, and I'm in Kelowna, BC. Same here, been there done that and Praise God I 6 yes later am returned to God. Thank God for His Mercy and Grace upon my life.
I can not even think of a life without God in my everyday. How we all have trials and tribulations, our return is always to God, deep inside our soul, we know God is our Savior.

it's true. I think sometimes we still focus on the task of "reading the Bible" - but let's not just get consistent but be curious, enjoy it, think about it, apply the truth to our lives, and walk it out!!!

Because my family has been watching the Chosen (over and over … sitting on pins and needles waiting for season 4 to stream😮) but I decided to read through the gospels! Just the other like yesterday I got finished just reading through Matthew. I decided to just read through, no highlights … read first! Just found your channel and was excited to see this study of Matthew with your conversation about how you study scripture. I’m over 60 and School was very easy for me. I didn’t have to study and so I don’t know how to study. Scripture has so much symbolism and so many nuances that“study” is important. Thank you for sharing. By the way, I just learned the other day the importance of providing Joseph’s genealogy. I won’t give it all away, but it has to do with adoption in Jewish culture … Joseph, for all purposes adopted Jesus. It was a very interesting revelation and explanation of Jewish culture.
I recently discovered a Jewish messianic study Bible, and I really looking forward to using it to further reveal bits of wisdom.
I am so glad you are here! I also believe studying is important. AND, I truly focus on having a real relationship with God so opening up His Word in a fresh way with curiosity and about spending time together. I also love to do word studies and all the things, but this is what has really grown my own relationship with God so where I feel lead to share ☺️
YES yes...when I read the chapter this morning that stood out to me Joseph's genealogy yes Mary gave birth to him I could only sum it up to 'God's ways are not our way' a promise of royalty in his line somewhere. okay I will look around. 14 generations (twice) stood out to me.

I am so glad you're here and can receive in this way! I've lived a lot of places throughout the US and Canada and always try to find a church that I can learn, grow, and serve in. Most often a non-denominational congregation, but if the Holy Spirit is there, the Pastors are teaching the Word, I can grow, and I can serve... I'm not too picky 😉
Do you have a teaching on why The Church is called by something other than The Church of Christ or The Body of Christ, like Baptist Church, Catholic Church, Episcopal Church etc..

It's great to be curious about this. Luke lists a different genealogy of Jesus. Look into the custom, knowing who Matthew was writing to and why this would be important. There's always a purpose 😉
Never understood why the lineage of Mary's husband Joseph is given as Jesus's lineage; Joseph wasn't His biological father. I haven't found a satisfactory answer to that question so far. I did read something about Mary also having been of the same lineage, but a) where in the Bible does it give that information? And b) if it is down to Mary's lineage, why does Scripture make such a big thing about tracing Joseph's lineage? If anyone knows where I can look for the answers to these questions, I would be very grateful.
This is such a great question, one a lot of people don't even notice. Here's where you can find some direction. Luke's lineage is different 😉 There's also a cultural significance. AND God is God and there are also some mysteries we just won't fully understand, especially in 2024 as we weren't there then. ☺️ I'll direct you to a free online commentary I like to use to help me understand deeper and they address this exact question: enduringword.com/bible-commentary/matthew-1/

Hahahaha I'm loving your videos. I only came across you this evening and have already done 3 videos. I love some of the points you raised. Especially if the Holy Spirit could impregnate Mary what else can He not do. There is a lot of food here for thought. But wish you'd share some of the answers.
