What is the purpose behind the loco pilot waving the flag. Hope it is a sign of communication between the guard and him to convey that the train is about to move; is everything ready. The guard will respond by waving the green flag if it is so; but in case if passengers are getting in he will wave the red flag based on which the driver will react. But now this is reduced to a ritual as the loco is on the end of one curve and the guard is at the end of the train on the other side of the curve where visibility is totally absent. Does it not expose the public to unwanted risk?
Would have looked better without those vertical "ribbons" pattern and with a solid green bottom panel. Who do they task with coming up with these colour schemes?
