Nonna reminds me of my grandmother so much. She used to teach us to bake and never used scales, all done by eye. I still miss her after 16 years. Treasure your time when you visit Italy Laura they are days you can never get back. Love you and joe to pieces, such a lovely couple xx

My Nonna used to make a bowtie cookie with white wine in the dough. She would deep fry and then dip in a red wine and sugar reduction (like a glaze?). My all time favorite cookie. Those things were like gold. Do you know how to make them? Regarding her not listening...My nonna used to say, "you listen to them...and then do what you want to". haha!
My German grandmother used to cook with her senses. No measuring. She made calves liver that would melt in your mouth. Her chicken soup with rice could cure any cold. Miss her so much. Treasure the moments you spend with your grandmother.
