I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but you should allow yourself to do Project Discovery. It can be done without leaving the station, anyone can do it, has zero costs, requires no skills to be trained and will give you that starting capital to multiply on the market. Starting this out with such a small amount of isk is really drawing it out for no reason.

Of course it is possible. Trading generates so much ISK and the market is not even that tight (compared to the real world markets)
Its an intresting video for sure. Got some inspiration from it. Made a complete new alpha account and found some lucky items. Now i am able to flip ships. so its def a thing. Also for those that need some extra money just to pay your 8% tax , do some project discovery. :) Gl with the series !

As for how long, I think it would depend so heavily on how much time you spend on it. So I don't think any guess could be accurate without that info.
As you could likely get better margins on items that are slow to buy/sell, but that would be fine if you only log in once a week, better money/h spent ingame. While if you spend hours/day you might be doing lots of smaller trades, with smaller margins each, but better money/h real time.

02/22 i started station trading logging on avarage twice a day atleast 4 times a week. I had one omega account with 1 char. I made two traders + they have PI skills. I had 500 mil from joining a corp as starting capital. I have no other isk incomes. Year ago i made second account +3 chars for trading and PI. Now im 180bil worth and plexing both accounts constantly. First year i used irl money on that first account.
Yooo, very nice! When you station trade, do you update your orders frequently, chose a set buy and sell price / percentage and "set it and forget it", or something else?
@@wazitsay I update on avarage 2 times a day (morning and at night) 4 times a week, every two week i usually have to come up with 5-15 new items to trade as balance of what is good to trade swifts constantly. (Events, discount sales)
Day trading has bit decreased as my volume is massively better so im more like oh this item is at low point i buy it and hold for it. It makes tracking process via apps bit harder as it ofc shows my inventory is low and i have sudden spurges when something rises in prices.
This actually is fascinating, I am wondering now if it can be done. I have wondered if a person could recommend to a youngster, how to learn about money by playing a station trader....and now, you are answering this question in my mind. Right on.

This is quite an interesting series, as I've always wondered how viable a strategy something like this actually is. Trading (at least from what I have seen) seems to be something which is fairly hard to reach the point where you're making good money, but once you have, you can make truly ludicrous amounts. It's odd though that I almost never hear about people Plexing their accounts through strategies like this... hopefully you prove them wrong!

Iv started station trading recently and I'm really not sure how people do it.
I know there are website to show you the margins but by the time you get on anything its all changed.
The margins just seem so razor thin that there if f all isk to be made.
This is with 500mil starting and its just tedious xP

WHat difference is between loading on veldspar or doing missions?
Not too much, it's just that the veldspar was on the way and I didn't want to spend a whole lot of time doing a different activity.
I think if you can plex within 3 months that would be impressive. Really like yours videos. Keep it up.

Give it a try! I'd love to see how quickly you can get it done. Personally, I might even do it again and try harder to check the account 3x a day. So far I have missed sooooo many days, and many days where I was only able to trade 1x.

I tried to use the download version and had this issue too. Selecting confirm or manage buttons does nothing and the whole app freezes. Older version worked fine iirc. Seems I have to use the site and keep tabbing out which is annoying.
Trading is great as occasional passive income, but trying keep omega by any daily activity will lead to burnout very quickly! I can't imagine losing all the isk you earn in game during the month just to be able to use your ships and skills for another month! This game literally costs less than a cup of coffee per day in real money! Why play the game if your not building wealth!
100%, this is purely a challenge to see how long it takes me and to show that it is possible to get an omegas worth of isk in "x" amount of time. The goal is to help teach those players that do want to earn their omega in game to not sleep on income from trading even if there are better ways to earn income as an alpha :) I do agree with you in that people shouldnt make this a job if they can avoid it!

"is it possible"? Yes
Is it reasonable or practical to do as a long term way of maintaining omega? No. It used to be, back when plexing was between 1-1.2 bil isk.
These days it's not, and won't be for the foreseeable future, you can't even Plex with a well designed PI setup anymore.

I think the Eve Market is broken, you start the game, run missions = profit, explore = profit, mine = profit, faction warfare = profit. Start trading and the returns are minute, as other have said you need a big capital fund to purchase in bulk to get good deals, from my own experience I would say about a year, if you were very lucky and found something posted wrong you might get a boost, someone missing a number off the price. But trading is the very poor cousin in Eve, there used to be a channel where mission runners sold/gave their sites for others to salvage, I used to try and offer lvl 4 mission wrecks, no one wanted them, I went back and salvaged the Mordus Headhunters, pulled 19m in loot and salvage, took about 15 - 20 mins, small time trading is hard mode.
you are so utterly wrong mister, and so clueless lol. margin trading in jita are quite hard. but buy in jita, have it moved and sell it in the big trading hubs out in NS where the big alliances live are big money, and i should know because i did it for allmost 2 year, and could trade up to 30 bill a day worth of stuff a day, making me easily between 1 and 3 bill a day in profit. i started with 9 bill liquid isk i dedicated to the trading, and only took me couple of weeks before i had it doubled to 18 bill, and considering you make more the more you have, it kinda exploded quite quick. after 2 years when i got tired of it, i had rougly 150 bill i was working with in the trading rotation, but i shuffled off all profit over to other projects i have going, mainly production and other form of industry on top, and that period i made atleast 300 bill in total from that trading. what i was mainly trading was faction and deadspace modules + implants, boosters and skill injectors. just the +5 training implants i sold for an average of 20-30 mill profitt each, and sold easily 10-20 of them a day on average, witch made me from those alone rougly 200-300 mill profit a day. skill injectors i could easily sell up to 10-15 a day witch made me on average 30-40 mill profit each and so on. in the end the competition just got stronger tho, and i got tired of it all, so dont bother with it anymore. mainly because i this period have made like 700-800 bill in total across all my activities and have lost interest in just watching the numbers grow :/ this days i try to get more involved in PVP and wanna see stuff getting blown up instead :P
@@goldeneagle256 You are talking about totally different scenarios, so far this is high sec trading, unless he branches out, your story only works with a big wallet, try buying high value or big orders, then getting it transported to low or null, unless you are working in billions the taxes and transport will take a massive chunk of profit, I find the story a bit hard to believe, most corps in null will move their own products, have their own jump freighters, just ask in corp and almost anything you want can be brought in through their channels, third parties can work but don't last long.
@@goldeneagle256 Best experiences I had for both ISK and fun was running sleeper sites in W-space with capital escalation (2x carrier, 2x dread) to net about 40 bil in a week. It was super exciting because both the sleepers could kill you and dedicated PVP-wormholers through incoming wormholes. It took a decent amount of preparation getting people in their assigned roles and ships, rolling for an empty hole, establishing an operations base (tower + hangar + defenses at the time, not sure if they are still around). High risk, high reward. We fought off two groups of incoming corps once in small stuff, because they probably thought us "carebears" would panic or something, but our webbing lokis and dreads made quick work of their cruisers.
Put like "Episode 1" "Episode 2" etc in the title. Makes it way easier to find. Everyone does it.

Station trading as an alpha SUCKS because of taxes/fees. You CAN get omega by doing it but I can guarantee it will be faster by just doing abyssals. Shocked CCP has not nerfed abyssals considering it's the easiest path for new players to reach Omega without giving CCP a single cent, outside of a friend just handing you billions of isk. Over the years they have nerfed all sorts of money methods like gas mining, exploration, missioning, ratting, pirate strongholds, but not abyssals!
