Visconti slow and steady. Lovely machine

Surely the vicon has to be kinder on the tractor? Just plodding along no wear on clutch brakes etc.

If a contractor baled at that speed, don't think he would be back for next cut. Very low on density.

    • @danielb1671
      @danielb1671 Před rokem +1

Why? Looking at distance from one bale to another looks like vicon and mchale make the same distance. I don't see why the would by lower density in mchale.

Put a Mchale fusion 3 up against the vicon and mchale be half down next bout by time it gets to end. Bale transfer on vario holding it back massively

Still got to stop for the bale to get out of the chamber, bet the vicon is better on fuel being at a steady speed all the time no stop start and accelerating

The guy in the Fastbale is crusing along steady under no pressure,
The guy in the McHale is busting his hole to maintain pace at short fast intervals and the operator in carrying out at least 20% more physical actions inside the cab not to mention higher speeds and possibility of rough ground. So on these points Fastbale certainly wins.
Now McHale being McHale as always reliability, build quality and easy of daily and yearly maintenance may have the edge there.
But if maintenance efforts and reliability can be matched by Fastbale the wins hands down again.
I did hear a rumour the guy who designed the Fastbale approached McHales First with the concept and he wasn't entertained at all. Then he approached Vicon. Well hey ho ya snooze ya loose.
Now if AGCO would only hurry up and release the Welger Continuous Baler and end all arguments that would be great.
Non Stop round bailing is no doubt the future that much is clear. But who is going to master it?
Personally i would love to see McHale buy the patent of the Welger/Vermeer Continuous Baler concept off AGCO , perfect it and blast it out on the market.

Great comparison. But in reality you could not keep that speed the fusion is doing up all day every day. Something would have to give. It's looks very hard on man and machine. Both look like excellent machines though. Big question is dealer backup when contractors making the purchase.

@SteelRodent Vicon has the possibility to change the wrapping speed. And if the settings are set well (fast speed), it is the fastest wrapper on the market.

Put that 10 ton Vicon on some steep fields and it would be a nightmare! Backing all that weight up to safely park bales on steep hillsides. Not to mention pulling it through very wet patches and soft ground.
It’s a good idea but for most of us it’s a non starter as apposed to a non stop!

On a steep field in my oppinion you don‘t want any of these machines. In the worst case filled with two bales in a not very comfortable heigh…
No, at least I prefer a smaler baler in my steep fields. And steep is always relative…
