AWESOME!!!! Thank you for your time and all the information, you are amazing!!
Lock it at 60 and see what the total draw is then. I'm interested in seeing that.
Just 1 more week 🥲🥲
Yeah I want to know battery life at 60fps. Specifics not just “a long time”.
I realy would like to know this as well, 60 fps cap + autotdp i realy wanna know how long the battery will last with this setting
Same
Yeah I always thought it would me more interesting to benchmark handhelds by locking 720p30 and seeing power draw. Instead of benchmarking how many FPS you can get.
Wow this is incredible!! What I've been waiting for!
I was waiting for this review. Definitely want to play it on ally.
Thank you, been waiting for this.
I love this device, had it for 3 weeks and it’s perfect for Diablo 4. Also got the usb C asus oled portable monitor and a thunderbolt hub so I can use the ally as a controller whilst it is outputting to the OLED monitor and charge at 65w all using one cable to the hub. This thing is bloody wicked and using it more than my 4090 pc rig.
How do you change controls to be set up for a controller and not a mouse and keyboard?
Thx for this update. I only got the Ally to plaly Diablo 4.
I just picked up the ROG Ally last night, with the sole purpose to play D4 while out & about. Currently setting it up, but can hardly wait to start playing on this device.
Thank You for making this video. I mainly bought the Ally for D4 and WOW.
Same here bought it for blizzard games
Me to it’s downloading now
How do you play wow on this?
This thing is sweet ! Got it today Mines downloading now
How do you guys find it for WoW?
Would probably be best to benchmark this when things are a bit more chaotic. That way, we at least get the worst case scenario
+1
agree
yeah any D4 fps test that's not done during a Legion event with 8+ players is pretty worthless. also, this game runs in borderless rather than exclusive fullscreen so I'm pretty sure RSR isn't doing anything. I also have no idea why you'd use RSR instead of just the in-game FSR.
In performance mode and 720p
I got abt 40-60fps while in dungeon and mass skill effect on monster.
Great video. Another channel testing this game/setup ran it on high everything and ultra performance fsr to the tune of 60-80 fps. I'm getting impatient waiting for my Ally now lol.
Later in game my fps drops hard from all the effects would like to see like a lv30 gameplay on the ally great video
Hey my man. Appreciate all your doing with the handhelds. Could you do a post asus ally update running destiny 2? As always thank you.
Great video thank you ❤️
As the steam deck is not available officerly on aus im leaning towards the ally thanks for pointing out the 18watt balance, I wonder if they will enable disabling cpu cores as 4-6 would be enough these days.
I've been running it on my steam deck with no issues.
Ociffer, OCIFFER! Why the steam deck ain't not available in my country!?
I would love for someone to show what the battery drain is like locked at 30 and 60 fps. Maybe even in between at 40fps. It shoud significantly decrease the battery drain, but by how much?
I get that you wanna show off how fast it can go, but most users in handheld mode will cap the fps to 40 or something to get the most out of the battery....
Given how well the steam deck handles the game, I’d assume it’s no issue for the rog
Ally is awesome for playing D4. Best purchase I’ve made in a long time
Thanks for the video.
Sorry, I don't know if it was mentioned in the video, but what configs is he playing? does this game run at 720p with everything on high at like 60 fps?
Great video but how would it run while online playing with others 🤔just a thought
Hey man, could you test the System Shock remake on the Ally and the Steamdeck? I'm quite interested in seeing how those would handle recent games that are well optimized, since we already know not even powerful desktop rigs can run crappy ports like Jedi Survivor or Redfall well.
I played the system shock remake on steam deck. Most setting on high I can lock the fps at 40 fps and it runs perfect.
Hi,was the controller support build in? I got mine pre order should be able to get it next week
Love your vids❤
Can you please share what app you are using on the top left of. your screen to monitor your Ally specs?
It would be good to see that medium graphics mix. I have the steam deck locked at 40Hz/40 FPS and I’m at medium across the board. I’m drawing around 12 watts, so that should give me 3 hours of run time on the go.
Agreed
This is an incredible handheld.
I’m guessing you can’t just toggle to a manual mode (18w for example) in the command center like you can for Performance/Turbo/Silent?
Is that fps/power counter the armory crate one? Or what is it (I don't own an rog so if it is didn't know)
I am running diablo 4 on my 6800 aya neo 2 at 11 watts medium 800p and its butter smooth. Cant wait to play this on my Aya when it arrives.
Omg it's like you read my mind... This will definitely be one of the games on my ally..... Well besides fallout 4 and skyrim. Thanks for the preview ✌🏿 😁
would have been great to test even more like push everything to the max and how many fps you get and so on
Are you playing a pc version of d4? How do you setup it to use a controller?
Love these videos, thanks for thr quality content. Can the ROG Ally download Game Pass games to the local storage (HDD) or is Game Pass strictly cloud gaming?
You will be able to do both.
@@odogmalone5876 exactly what I needed confirmed. Thanks!
great for 40fps and crank up the settings, will still feel smooth on that 120hz screen
Thanks!
Maybe compare diablo iv on the steamdeck as well
Can you do more videos with the EGPU?
did you download the high resollution textures incase you play it with an xg mobilel on a tv?
how long does the battery last using middle-ish but playable configuration?
Just got my Z1 extreme today
Why are you using RSR instead of FSR?
Would be nice to see how far the quality settings can go while capping at 40fps. In this game and others you review.
40 fps is trash
@@mobilemonster7681 😥
40fps for D4? Nah game is too fast paced, is needs to be played at 60fps
@@Ridku13 are you mocking me?
@Ridku13 40 fps is great but only if the screen can natively support 40hz or 120hz with 40 locked.
It's surprisingly way more responsive than 30 fps. At the screen size of a handheld device it is actually the better effective pixel response than sitting in front of a 27inch monitor @ 60hz.
I think 40hz is the future of console gaming, if we want to be pushing fidelity and perfect for handheld for battery savings.
Can u pause a game and turn the system off like the Nintendo switch or at least set it to sleep? If during sleep mode how fast does the battery drain if at all? Do you personally exit to windows and shut down the game after every session?
Game runs pretty smooth on my steam deck, nice to see other options though! Would be nice to have it on the rog ally since you wouldn't have to configure everything and it would just run automatically.
Which Settings do you use to get over 80 fps? I get only 50-60 🤔
Literally one of the main reasons I bought an ally, not gonna lie.
Could you please show the Ally running Lost Ark? G'day from Australia.
could you check how far you can set the graphic quality when locking 60fps 20W?
Stupid question: is that the default key mapping? Can't you look with the right joystick and shoot with the flaps behind the Ally? Doing that wiggly motion you do with the left joystick makes it feel weird.
I literally wanted this for diablo and Street Fighter 6 I’m so excited for this to drop
You have full control of the text size in the game from small up to large. I played it on my Deck, and it looked and played pretty awesome!
@@mjen mine just came today 2 days early!!!
Can you test Diablo 4 on the steam deck? Would be interesting to see if Steam deck can hit consistent 60fps with FSR.
I have sound problems with the Rog Ally in Diablo 4, there is a hissing and creaking sound in the speakers, is that the case with you too?
So , the real question is - weather to go for Aya Neo 2S or the Rog Ally
Does this manual TDP still work for the since the most recent Bios update319?
can you try some fps games with the gyro when it's available?
What setting you have set in game option?
When does the battery run out while playing?
How douse d4 play docked on a 4k monitor? How are the graphics and fps?
You said we would get Aya neo 2s vs rog ally in a few days and it’s been like a week
I personally will go with the better stablish and most popular out of those two. Rog Ally my personal choice.
I will absolutely buy Ally just for this game
I am too lol. Also plus emulation and some other indie titles I’ve yet to beat like hades and dead cells lol
@@brennancurrier806 Lol, exactly my plan too 😂
@@brennancurrier806 I just finished my platinum for hades..hiiighly highly recommend
I preordered the ally so I can take D4 from my PS5 with me when travelling 😅😅😅
Just remember u can't play without internet, I have it on steam deck and don't play outside home but for many the fact u need internet to play is a deal breaker
Can you update and share your low/medium settings in Diablo 4?
How many hours before you have to plug it to the wall?
Has ETA Prime said if he prefers the Deck or the Ally
@ETA Prime - Please can you show *TEKKEN 7* and/or *SOULCALIBUR 6*
Great video. In turbo mode 30w , 1080p fsr performance medium settings , 60 fps are possible?
RSR 720p seems like madness compared to 1080p with FSR.
How much space on the SSD is still available after Windows?
Superb explanation!! Can you please do resident evil 4 remake ❤
Could you provide a zoomed in view of the Frame rate pinned to a corner of the video? Really useful when viewing on a mobile device :)
Or just pinch your screen and make it larger like a photo
@@reignofswords6575 yeah, but then I can’t read the comments while watching the video
You can play D4 PC comes with ntive gamepad support?
Can you try snowrunner with different settings?
please test diablo 4 on the ayaneo 2s as well
Could you test diablo 4 with autotdp, i realy would like to know how long we can get the battery with autotdp in this game
Also 60 fps would be cool enough for me in this game, i realy would like to know how long the battery can last with autotdp and 60 fps target
please do the deep drive battery test
Can you do some more gameplay videos of aya neo 2s
I'm on Onexplayer2 and I can play Diablo 4 at about 1 hour+. The GPU is maxed out, but CPU is kinda low. I'm on 28 watts btw.
Literally the only reason I pre-ordered the Ally was for this game so I can play at work lol. It would of been nice to get more info like if you run it plugged in and quality settings vs fps.
me too
Me too
Same but in bed when I'm lazy 😂
I bough Diablo 4 for my series x but I pre-ordered the ally too but if I want to play I have downloaded it again for ally or I have buy the game somebody help me with question plz I’ll appreciated
Same!
Does this run at highest setting at a FPS of 40+? Don’t care about battery life as much as I play with it near a charger. Thanks
I would like to see the absolute minimum wattage and settings this can run on the ally for max battery life. Would a 30 fps lock with low settings run at like 8 watts or somthing crazy low? Curious to see how long u can play this on the go
Just not literally on the go since you need a wifi connection at all times when playing this game
@@feetenthusiast1015 could use phone teathering too. But most data plans are limited. Like ours is 50 gb a month teathering data.
@@feetenthusiast1015 yea that sucks too. Would have to use hotspot. I’ve had good experiences streaming it from my ps5 that is plugged in to Ethernet and using backbone on my iPhone over 5g network. Played a few hours at work like that. Might be better off playing it that way on the go since it needs connection anyway
30 fps is trash
@@mobilemonster7681 it is. Might try a 45 fps cap to see how it feels when I get mine. To save battery
Do you have high res assets on
Is it possible with Thunderbolt 3 to use Free Sync on TV/ Monitor?
Can you run show Diablo on Ayaneo 2s pls and thanks alot for the video
For your next vid could you try testing streaming a game via obs while playing on the rog ally
Someone already did that
Great video! It would be interesting to see a game like Ace combat 7 on the Ally if you could!
This game is the primary reason why I got interested in x86 handhelds.
How do I control the character with the left joystick of the rog?
How did you do your controls
Im on my deck playing Diablo which is fine but it looks like mud compared to rog. Can't wait till the 13th
Please can you try a bit of cloud gaming on this device and see how it the battery life.
but can we get 60 in medium 1080p? i dont know why almost no one that reviews the rog ally does testing at 1080p
How is the chat functions like whilst playing d4?
Would you be able to run Diablo Immortal in PC mode on this?
Runs super great on my w11 steam deck.
is it before firmware update or after
Best to really play on the most chaotic parts of the game. because that will be the deal breaker (at least for the settings)
I've seen Steam Deck run it smoothly around 60-40 with other channels. so, ROG Ally probably will out perform the SD.
good to know both devices handle the game well.
ROG really cool. Can't wait to play Solitaire and Minesweeper on it.
😂
Games like this, might be fine even at 30 fps. When the depth of field is big enough , the motion look unnoticeable.
Diablo IV is so optimized I could run it on my 10 year old PC I use for browsing so I'm sure you can easily bump this to a lower TDP and it still run great.
with 5 fps for sure
Can you turn off the lights on the sticks?
Does anyone know if the game shows up in armoury crate se afterwards?
