    Will this take gear cables and hydraulic lines in the internal channels of the bars? Is there enough room for both? I have a similar setup to the bike in the video.

    Great video, thank you. Big fan of the Zipp Ergo carbon bar and am thinking of the Aero bar for my next bike. Would be interested in your impressions after a few rides. By the way I noticed you are on a 61cm Tarmac. Can I ask: how tall are you and how do you find the fit on the 61cm? I'm weighing up a Tarmac also. I'm 6'3 & 1/4" and have 36" inseam.

      I’m 6ft 3…. I have both the Aethos and Tarmac. The tarmac handles the power a lot better… It’s a stiffer package all around. The Zipp bars are fantastic. So far they have been my favourite. I love the geometry of them.

    Where do you plan on fitting a computer mount?

    • @MitchOnTwoWheels
      @MitchOnTwoWheels  Před rokem

      Just on the bars... standard Garmin mount. I suppose I could go stem face plate mount, but perhaps on the next project bike.

  • @Stevenafoe

    Did you weigh the old bar vs new bars? That would be interesting to see if it also has a weight advantage next to aero…

    • @MitchOnTwoWheels
      @MitchOnTwoWheels  Před rokem

      A standard aluminum bar came off the Tarmac… the weight savings was pretty significant, let alone the comfort the carbon bar provides.

      @@MitchOnTwoWheels what weight is the alu bar? I’am thinking of doing the same change (although maybe not the zipp bar).

    Did you run the cables into and through the bar or just under the outside of the bar? I'm considering getting an aero handlebar but don't know how to run my cables.

    • @MitchOnTwoWheels
      @MitchOnTwoWheels  Před rokem

      They go inside the bar… although I would do whatever you’re comfortable with. It’s really not a big deal either way.

    Have you managed to hide the brake wires nicer? I'm looking for a handlebar for my Tarmac, and because Roval Rapid is unavailable I think about Zipp.

      This is as good as I got it. Not the greatest, but certainly hidden.

    • @jwfriar
      @jwfriar Před rokem +1

      I'm wondering the same - I have a new Soloist which I can internally route with a ST32 stem, but then it should immediately route into the bars. Seems like the Zipp solution doesn't accept the cables until midway into the bar vs right in the center. The Rapide, Easton and Enve solutions can accept the cables right from the stem. Perhaps those are a better solution for me.

      It will work with any standard stem... The difference will be any of the aero bits that work with the stem normally.
