Whenever this man came to the free throw line they were already automatic. JJ in my opinion is certainly one of the purest shooters that the game of basketball has ever seen.
Was a cheat code in March madness games back in 2004 to 2006.
@@tylerdecker6994 facts lol didn’t think people remembered that
Glazing much bro was mid
@@ndnd7614 in college? You must have not watched college basketball during the time he was at Duke to say something like that.
@@ndnd7614😂😂 silly kid u are you
You can tell that Redick was basically one of the very first modern shooters to do it in D1 MBB because he just took advantage of the fact that College had such a short range 3pt line at the time. You can see in this video most of the 3s he made were from NBA range but since College's was so much shorter at the time, it looks like he was making them from 40 ft out. In reality he just practiced as if he was always shooting in the NBA.
He get in the NBA an do NUN OF this tho
@@brianbrown9905 your a casual, he had a solid nba career
I never realized JJ Redick had finishing ability like that
Me neither
Same. He was attacking people's chests like Giannis, jeez. Taking contact and getting the bucket for a guy his size is impressive.
@@benjaminletiecq4932 going against college defense is different that going against nba defense
💯💯💯 High School and College, but the Pros are a different beast. Just shows you how great Those NBA Players “with no hops” REALLY ARE
The facts he refined his game for the nba is the biggest flex. College was easy buckets
One of the greatest shooters ever imo. Pure shooter. And fun fact: played in at least the sweet sixteen every year in college. No 1st or 2nd round losses.
As a die hard UK fan, JJ was my favorite non Kentucky player ever. I think it's cause my high school coach had me watch all his games after my freshman year. I asked why and coach said that gonna be you next year. And sure enough I would constantly come off screens and fire but I also had the green light from anywhere. I jumped from 5.7 ppg to 16 ppg to 25.6 to finally 30 ppg. Not bad as a 5'9 165 SG. I did that by studying every single thing he did on the court. Now with his podcast you noticed real quick how cool he was. I know people lie like crazy on social media but everything I said is 100% accurate. JJ made me a 30 point scorer by my Senior year.
love that, keep it up broski🤞🏼
a coach that understands ur skillsets as a player and maximizes ur potential. thats the truly good stuff.
Man I remember when Redick and Adam Morrison from Gonzaga were going back and forth putting up crazy numbers!
This man was the best college player I ever saw. Watching him had your jaw on the floor every game. If you want to really understand how good this guy was, watch him vs Texas when he dropped 41... to this day I get goosebumps watching that.
Before there was steph there was JJ at Duke. Undeniably Mr. Clutch in college
This dude was my favorite player ever to play NCAA Basketball. JJ was must-see TV
One of the best shooters of all-time no doubt 💯
I fell in love with Duke Basketball watching JJ Redick. No moment was ever to big for him
Curry range before Curry. As a tar heels fan I was terrified of JJ and Sheldon Williams
Our whole team was stacked, top to bottom when they all played together. I miss basketball like this.
As a Duke fan I always tell other Duke fans that the one thing Redick doesn’t get enough credit for is how well he got to the basket and attacked it. We all know he was a lethal dead eye from 3. #BDN⚪️🔵😈
As a duke fan Redick was absolutely amazing. Had such a beautiful shot.
He has one of the sweetest jumpers in the history of basketball.
He moves so well without the basketball. Something that Steph Curry learned to master as well.
JJ and Duke basketball forever!
His drive to the basket game was almost completely neturalized when he got to the NBA.
Why do u think that was? He wasn't fast enough for the NBA Guys?
@@salprovolone7709 not big enough and not fast enough to make up for being smalll like isaiah thomas
@@davidfrackelton7745 more so because his role changed. NBA teams didn't need him for that, just his shooting primarily. and he's a good 6'4", not 5'9" like IT lol
@@benjamincook6625 kinda reminds me a bit of Kevin Love. When he was on the T-Wolves he was very present in the paint and the post. When he got to the Cavs, they turned him into a spot-up shooter. It's sad seeing players change roles like that and not use their full skillset.
@@davidfrackelton7745stop using that fast enough narrative bro you don’t need speed to play basketball he just wasn’t good enough
This is why I always say Curry is just Redick with a green light
What about the ball handling lol
@@GregoryKellerlmao huge Reddick fan, but yeah, that's the most glaring difference haha. Curry will break you down. Reddick is catch and shoot, work off the ball type guy.
Duke legend
His game is so modern even then
Boy gone forever be a duke legend
Got mad respect for JJ Redick
Younger people don’t realize how much people hated Duke JJ Reddick
Either loved him or hated him. No in between.
Great NBA career💪🏽💪🏽
JJ is responsible for 20k of these views himself 😂
I'm a KY fan loved watching redick hated playing him but he was one of the best off the run shooters I've ever seen and when it came to free throws if he was fowled might as well go ahead and add the points to the board
What's up, JJ!🥰 Family.
Best NCAA player 🏀🔥
Pure
HE LOVED TO SHOOT
JJ Reddick and Maryland are one of the best Rivalry in sports history
Who would've thought jj Reddick would be shooting 28 to 30 foot threes before curry while he was in college?
Before Curry, there was Redick
He was Jimmer Ferdette before Jimmer Ferdette
Pure shooter ..
I mean he just showed he can drive
🐐
🔥
I can't believe how short that 3-pt line used to be...would be disgusting to see games with that line today lol.
This dude was supposed to be like curry in the NBA. I don't know what happened. Still had a good career.
Born too early. Imagine this JJ as a rookie in 2023.
Curry's game ended up thriving in large thanks to players like Reddick helping broaden the horizons of how basketball was played.
I don't think Curry was projected to be anywhere close to what Curry ended up being to be fair.
Pat Bev's favorite player 😏
THE FIRST LOGO THREE POINT SHOOTER
Andrew Goudelock
Meness 😅😅
Bruh move like Steph tbh 👀
He ruined my UNC games..couldn’t stand duke

hall of famer?
he was decent nba player but not a hall of famer tbh
Bed jordan
Here to see JJ's game after the charlotte game he mentioned...
I dont understand US college basketball but how can a dude dominate like this in college and then go to the NBA and not see the floor?
What do you mean? JJ had a great career averaging 25 mins per game
@@ethanjacobs2898 i meant on the rookie season, think he barely saw the floor
@@filipeventura2729 think about it bro, everyone in the nba was a beast in college... theres levels to this
@@ichigopimp97 true that but i also think he was supper unlucky! If he was a rookie today would have been let loose
Look at Duncan Robinson, much more one dimensional player but the 3 is THAT valued today
@@ethanjacobs2898 he didnt get minutes like that til he left orlando. Thats why he asked to leave
