I can’t imagine the excitement just running that old one and getting it just a few feet off the ground. Would be absolutely incredible! I’d never want to take it much higher!
If you get a chance take a trip up the Hudson from New York City to quaint Rhinebeck. A grass field and the smell of castor oil in the air you can't go wrong. They have some rare acft that are 100+ years old that still fly!
@@Trukluver It was. I talked to the pilot after he landed. He told me and my friends that flying the plane was really fun and difficult. It was fun he said because you feel every lift or pull of the wind so you felt like you were really flying. It was difficult for the same reason in that you could not take your mind off the controls for one minute.
This is actually the Hanriot reproduction flying in the video. It's very sensitive to the wind, and of course has no brakes, so we only hop the Hanriot and Bleriot about 20 feet off the field. Both planes steer by wing warping and both have no brakes, so both planes are only flown at low altitude from one end of the airfield to the other. The Bleriot is an original 110 year old plane, in fact the oldest flying airplane in the world.
Cinnamanster A I’m a volunteer at the aerodrome. Yes, you can certainly purchase a ride in a D-25 biplane. It’s a great experience, one you’ll never forget.
2023........Still thrilling to see the pioneers of flying,....still operational. Amazing early flying machines.
I’m literally addicted to watching vintage stuff especially the oldest ones
I hope you enjoy my channel. My main focus is on vintage stuff.
Beautiful
A delicious runway, a candy like airplanes. Beautiful, that is the word to describes those days.

Yes, they certainly have some amazing airplanes.
Oldest style plane I ever fly was a Curtiss Wright that was flown in 1910. It quite a sight to say the least.
It sounds very exciting.
Sorry should read ever saw fly

Those pilots have a lot of guts to fly those old planes.☺
I'll agree with that.

burgundy tiger moth g acdb................ i flew in acdc at headcorn, kent, england. pure magic: sedate 55mph at about 300ft. open cockpit. cushdee
Cool.
It seems one day there will be more Fokker Triplane replicas flying than the 300 odd originally built.
I wouldn't rule out the possibility.
Красивые старинные аэропланы! Очень интересно! Спасибо за видео.
would love to see a list of the airplanes!
You might check on their website. I don't know if they have a list of their planes or not.
VERY VERY GOOD SHOW OLD AIRCRAFT, FRON BRASIL.
Greetings to Brasil.
how come the really old one only flew down the length of the runway
It's been a while since I shot this video but if I remember correctly, they didn't want fly the airplane very high because of it's age and fragility.

Those old timey pilots had some guts, especially prior to, and during, WWI.
They certainly did.
Compared to newer generations! 😄
SHOW BRASIL OK.
I think it is impossible to not catch the flying bug when watching these old birds go.
I want to go back and buy a ride in one of them.
Do they sell rides? Would be fantastically cool.
They did the day I was there. It was $75 then, probably more now.

I love that one at 1:57 is that a Taube?
I'm afraid I don't remember.
@@Trukluver it's a Bleriot XI 1909, probably a replica though
@@tony--james Thank you for the information. I appreciate it.
Tony James Hey Guys, I work at the aerodrome. Our Bleriot is original, and is in fact the oldest flying airplane in the United States.
@@GodsMan500 Thank you very much. I appreciate knowing that.
One day i will fly in my own homemade airplane,i sure will.
Best wishes for that.
