  • Echeveria Blue Bird is a stunning hybrid of E colorata and E desmetiana. It is worthy of the front row in any succulent collection.
While Blue Bird is a tempting plant, it is not that easy to care for and propagate. It will need a bit of a special treatment to not succumb to rot or other water related disease.
In this video I'll cover all there is to know about Echeveria Blue Bird. I've grown hundreds of these plants in my nursery and have learned a thing or two about them.
We'll cover the best position to grow, watering, potting media and temperature tolerance.
Propagation methods, pests, flowers and toxicity will also be looked at in detail.

Can you do a video on what tissue culture means and how it works?

Absolutely- it should be released in the next couple of days 🙂 Just a quick disclaimer tho- i don't do my own tissue culture and buy it in instead. I will roughly explain the process but there's not going to be any step-by-step tutorial..

This beautiful succulent resembles a dancer with its lower leaves drooping which is that frock.
Kat,can this beautiful succulent be happy with 4 hrs of morning direct sunlight?

It does look a pretty frock!💙🥰 Technically, it should be ok with 4hrs of morning sun. It will be very beneficial if it also had good, bright shade afterwards to stop it from getting tall.🙂

Thanks for this great info! I live in hardiness zone 8b, and brought my Blue Bird in for the winter single the temp has dropped to lows of 25-35F. Do you ever use growing lights? Do you have recommendations? I’m concerned about him getting leggy 😊

Growing lights will definitely help your Blue Bird stay compact and prevent stretching- i'd suggest full spectrum, white lights for about 12h. Hope this helps :)
