      salizawati hassan thank you. Yeah we were so surprised at how minimalistic they were. Btw van has no air-con so they did suffer with the heat whenever stuck in traffic around Asia. Amazing.

    Hi! Love the van! I have a 2001 t4 and was wondering what do you do for air circulation? I have just brought a rotary exhaust fan thing but I doubt it’ll fit under a roof rack…

    • @24hourtravellers
      @24hourtravellers  Před 2 lety

      We use 3 roof fans but we own a Toyota Hiace not this VW. This couple, they are minimalists so no roof vent, they sleep with doors open and MosQuiTo netting.

      Utt Haniff yes it was possibly Felix and Anna because they arrived in Malaysia in 2015 and in 2016 they flew back to Europe leaving their VW here. They worked for a year n half to work and save up for the next leg of their travel. Dec 2016 they flew back to KL to collect their VW and now they will ship it to Canada to drive north to south....

    I’ve always wondered how do people actually drive from countries to countries? like what do you need to pass through customs? And are there actually drivable roads to reach most countries?

    • @24hourtravellers
      @24hourtravellers  Před 6 lety +2

      Q K yes some countries require a Carnet which you buy from AAM ....

    • @qk611
      @qk611 Před 6 lety

      24 Hour Travellers I see, so would you say it would be cheaper to travel this way -> petrol+van servicing+Carnet+tolls than the normal way -> flights+visa+budget Airbnb+transportation

    • @24hourtravellers
      @24hourtravellers  Před 6 lety +1

      Q K if you were to visit 22 countries for 2 years like this couple did and spend only Euro6000/head I believe it is cheaper to travel this way. (diesel) you also get to see more of the landscape and meet more people. I know we do. 😊 the Carnet btw is a one time purchase which is refundable upon your vehicles return to the place it was originally from... It's like a passport for your vehicle.

    • @qk611
      @qk611 Před 6 lety +1

      24 Hour Travellers Thank you so much for answering! I can’t wait to live in vans and travel the world one day! One last question, how often do you need to ship the van? Or there’s always roads connecting country to country? I reckon shipping vans would be extremely expensive?

    • @24hourtravellers
      @24hourtravellers  Před 6 lety +1

      Q K watch the Live2Drive Story a couple of episodes before this and you will learn about the roads you can use without shipping and without carnet. 😊

    Any issue driving your German registered vehicle through Thailand? I heard that they no longer allow foreign vehicles into the country.

    • @24hourtravellers
      @24hourtravellers  Před 6 lety

      The Traveling Together Journal yes now the regulation is only Malaysian Plates can drive through Thailand. When the diesel gypsies were there it was 2015 before the new regulation.
