I am an Ethiopian and watched Argentina forbthe first time winning the wc of 1986 and loved them for eternity. I was just 8 then. I am a Bangladeshi who has been an Argentine football fan all my life, even when I didn't understand football properly (most Bangladeshis are like this from parents to kids the support automatically rolls over), with every passing year my knowledge, understanding and passion for football grew (for Argentine football, players and more specifically Leo)...I still remember, when Argentina lost the first match...more than half of my colleagues were super sad and nearly lost hope, well, they did i donno why...the people who knew how much i love Argentina even called me to offer sympathy... being a positive thinker with going down swinging mentality, and above all a Muslim, I thanked them for their concern and told them two words AlhamduliLLAH (thanks to AllaH) and IN ShaA AllaH (if AllaH wills)...cause, in my experience, in most cases, every great team has a bad day in a tournament, and I believed the worst for the Albiceleste was over at the group stage match (nearly making every match from that point of a knock out one though)...still, I believed they could do it cause when you hit the rock bottom all you can do is go up....and AlhamduliLLAH they did :) btw, the crowd you paused on (the first time) is from a university in Bangladesh (if my memory serves me right) :)
As an argentine myself I am still blown away by what our futbol, Diego and Leo did for our country. I cannot thank you enough for you support, it's really amazing that on the other side of the world there's someone that feels the same that we feel about our national team, Bangladesh and Argentina are like brothers :D

I am an argentine living in the US. I watched Messi’s WHOLE career since the friendly games he played in 2005 before the u20 South American Championship. I had no doubt whatsoever that he is the best footballer that ever lived BEFORE winning this world cup. But I was so nervous before the final that I decided not to watch it. I love Messi so much that I couldn’t have stand to see him losing another World Cup Final. It wasn’t about the possibility of me being sad, it was about him not being able to make it. So I just woke up very early in the morning that magic Sunday and went for a 3 hours walk in woods, listening to classical music. Then I got back in the car, drove home, parked the car, my wife opened the door with tears in her eyes. Happy tears. Then I knew Messi had made it. So I cried.

Everyone I watch him winning this title, it makes me cry. Because I have been waiting for this moment since 2014. Late win of World Cup for Messi is an example to all. It signifies that everyone has their own time to make it, it may be sooner or later. It teaches us to have hope and patience. If Messi succeeded early, there wouldn't be this much curiosity. With this win, Messi to me is seen as the most complete player in football history. I am lucky to be in this era. Seeing him, I realised the value of being honest and simple.
