Bless you Joshua. I just made the upgrade to digital in the form of Dji V2 goggles and purchased the runcam wasp setup. Ive been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. You are a saint!!!

This was my issue! Thank you so much. I spent 2 weeks trying to fix my first FPV drone and almost stopped the hobby as I never had a FPV drone and thought everything was my fault and that I couldnt figure it out.
that's when you buy another quad and try getting it to work, you're going to buy a bunch of them anyway.

@Joshua Bardwell I think this same thing happens to the DJI remote. Once updated to work with the Avata, it no longer works with the DJI FPV drone. At least for me that’s the case.
DJI found a good way to fragment their customer.
I'll bet that backward compatibility was only the result of fear after the introduction of "Walksnail" system by Caddx, before selling the O3. Now they will slowly start phasing out, and people will be forced to buy new V2 goggles.

I so wish the caddx with the latest firmware, that allows it to act like an 03 would communicate with the V2s and the latest firmware that allows it to talk to the 03. Having to switch back and forth between modes and rebind is such a PITA.

i was able to bind to runcam wasp but could not activate....

to be able to bind mine I had to fully update the goggles then downgrade the vista and switch to Digital FPV system in the goggles. Won't bind unless you switch to the Digital FPV system you'll just keep getting transmission signal issues if not
So, If i had recently purchased a GEPRC Cinelog 35 HD with the Vista Nebula Pro System in it, when i get the drone i just need to hook it up to the DJI software and downgrade it to the version you said and it will work with my DJI FPV Goggles v2. ( The ones you was holding in your hands) Does this also enable where the DJI FPV remote ( the gray one looks like a PS controller) will also work with the drone if i got the PNP one? Cause right now I'm so confused.

A year from making this video the app the dji does not alway load the firmware... and it's bull... three days and no firmware load or comes up to load firmware.. if anyone knows how to help I'm sooooo lost. Using. V2 with one vista.. and can't bind.. but can bind with 03...
Nothing works have a set of V2 goggles that i got SH from a girl who totally crashed her DJI FPV Drone and watching all the videos and all the routing videos the goggle firmware 01.00.0607 will not let go of the FPV Drone and controller link nor will it allow me to route the goggle with butter even with all the drivers.

I did not upgrade my DJI vistas and they still won’t connect to my V2 goggles. The V2 goggles update does not take me into the backside programming like it used to.
A tutorial where you can show us how to turn off the o3 air unit with an aux switch would be nice, 😅 some fc's are able to do that without a "realpit" because they have a PIT solder joint.

Hey Bardwell, got all my gear is on the the .0600. i got a new vista and it is on the .0606 version, is there any way to downgrade the .0606 to the .0600? I dont want the .0606 :(

I do have dji fpv combo inc. V2 goggles and v2 remote. So I've heard that if i upgrade to latest version it will bind to v2 RC and lost connection on v2 googles and have to buy new googles 2. If i downgrade, unit will bind v2 google but wont bind v2 RC and buy RC v1. Thats sucks :(
I need help, made "root" on DJI v2 and vista to display OSD. Everything seems to work fine, but only if you turn on the glasses first, and only then the drone, if vice versa, then all OSD elements move to the center and the font changes. Maybe someone came across? Thanks.

Zero warning in the DJI Assistant is absoloutely ridiculous. I just wasted so much time trying to do my friend a favour and get his first quad set up. DJI really hates us pilots who don't buy their newest products :(

The diodes that can blow on the caddx vista and disable the Rx or tx pads for the MSP communication with the flight controller, are those diodes also on the DJI air unit? Could get a cheap broken air unit with that issue. I have microsoldering skills

Another Thing is after update to 1 OH OH OH OH ^^, the Rc Controller V1 is Doesn't work any more, and only the V2 Controller can bind to the Vista.
Can you get audio from the vista to the fpv goggle v2 though the headphone port?
No. Vista doesn't have a microphone.

You just have to be able to visually identify them. Look in the Betaflight configuration to see what protocol is configured can help narrow it down.
Q: since you said many times that Walksnail antenna is bad... did you replace the antenna that comes with caddx vista? and if you did, with what?
It's the goggle antennas that are bad. I've had good results with Vista antennas.
I am confused because it has been so long I forgot which mode I ran my Vista on (DIY vs. FPV) - do I have to put it in FPV mode to use the DJI assistant and then switch back to DIY mode to use the goggles with the Vista?
You need it in "DJI Digital FPV System" mode to use the Vista. You don't have to put it into FPV Drone mode to flash it if you only use Vista. If you use the DJI drone, O3, or Avata, then you need to put it in one of those modes before flashing.
The drone community has experienced a windows update, lol.
Hey Josh... my bug is whenever I use the 03.... time after time it binds fine... but if I change the menu to use my nebula pro... I have to rebind the nebula... and when I go back to 03... got to unscrew my 03 from the cinelog to rebind... is there a way for the v2 to remember the binds , already that it is a pain in the neck to surf the menu and turn the goggles on and of...lol
This is a known bug for which there is no fix. For the v2 goggles, anyway. It's fixed on the goggles 2.

I have v2 goggles, 3 drones with vista. Picked up an o3 unit and will be building a new drone soon. A bit confused, can I use my goggles for both vtx's or do I have to pick one?
I have tried with no success. Need to choose O3 or vistas/old air units.
Or forget about OSD and WTF OS.

I bought Runcam Link, there was 0608 firmware from the box. I activated it, downgraded to 0606, but wtfos cannot connect to it - no ports in the list (I can properly connect my v2 goggles without any problem). Does that mean that Runcam Link does not have rooting capability? Thank you!
You need to use 0608 with the Runcam wasp. You can still root on that firmware.
@@cobynweston8124 I use DJI camera with that Runcam Link (and everything is fine), but I cannot connect unit via USB - wtfos shows empty list of available COM ports (v2 goggles and other vista units connecting without problems, but not that Runcam Link unit).
What is the safest firmware to downgrade to for the v2 goggles?
There is no reason to downgrade the v2 goggles unless you're trying to root and are locked out. In that case use FPV.wtf Butter to flash them. Otherwise just flash to the latest and you're good.
So we have to uninstall the root hack on V2 goggles and update to .0000 to use an O3 air unit, then if we want to go back to flying a vista quad we need to downgrade goggles back to .606 and then reinstall the root hacks again if we want full OSD?
So basically a lot of firmware messing around to simply go from flying one quad to another? 🤔
The goggles do not need any firmware shenanigans. Update to the latest, install wtfos, be happy. Only the Vista needs firmware shenanigans to go back and forth between v2 goggles and goggles 2.

Yes unfortunately every time you switch you have to re bind.

You need to change modes.
My v2s... will not bind to my vista... idk what I'm doing wrong 100 soldering is right.. and preset. Is it the firmware.. or what..
Why dosnt the dji app load firmware. ... days now I've been trying to load firmware or rollback firmware.. to use.... with vista... idk😅

@@soundscrispy it is, the process is still the same, v1 can only be updated to 1.00.0606. Runcam wasp is compatible with 0608
I bought my goggles last yr and never updated them or anything lol no hacks or anything haha I’m a simple man 😂
So over digital already all my v1 gear crapped out. Time to go back to anal-log
No surprises, it's DJI. "Make more money INC". You bought new goggles, so it means you have money. So now you have to buy O3 units to get full working devices. DJI philosophy as usual - we are selling the new great product, you have to give us your money by buying a new one. Otherwise no support, and you will be on your own.

They have been ripping customers off (Yes I'm one of them) for years with the built in redundancy of all their overpriced and over here equipment ... Made possible by the hype.. dished out by u/tube FPV promotors.
I know this is hard to believe, but a whole lot of regular people are completely happy and overjoyed with this equipment. It's got its problems, but in a lot of ways, it's amazing. If you think people only buy it because of hype, or that people like me only say good things about it because of money, you're missing a lot.
