Once I stopped counting carbs, weighing my food, writing everything down, it was such a sense of freedom!! Eating is so simple now! Shopping too. Simply yes or no. I''ve always hated vegetables so that's an easy choice. I've been eating carnivore for the last 4 months, 2 meals a day and eat until I'm full. I've lost 38 lbs so far and I'm now off my blood pressure medication. I've never felt better!! 56 years old and going strong 💪 Thank you, Dr. Cywes for another great video!

I hated " doing keto" until someone in a FB group said they avoided the counting nonsense by just eating meat and eggs. 2+ years carnivore now and healthier in my fifties than I was in my thirties.
Ultimately, there's no need to eat ANY vegetables.

It was back in 2015 when I went to support a family member who went to rehab for heroin addiction that I realized I had a sugar/carb addiction. It wasn't until 5 years later that I hit my own personal rock bottom. I slowly started a keto lifestyle then transitioned to carnivore. Its 3 years later and still going strong. Your videos, Dr. Cywes have been a godsend to me to help me understand the correlation of all the components that were leading me down a destructive path. It wasn't ever that I was eating too much it was always that I was eating the wrong things and that's why I could never lose weight. Thank you for all you do.

I'm not sure if you covered this, but what you are working towards is a new you. I'm 69 years old and went on a carnivore diet about a month ago. I'd previously been on a Keto diet with good results. What I immediately felt after completely dropping all carbohydrates was the aches, pains and stiffness STOPPED within 48-72 hours. I mean I couldn't bend over and tie my shoes without groaning and huffing and puffing. That was amazing. I have also notice the edema in my lower extremities has completely gone away and I have more energy. And, I have btw lost 18 pounds in the past month. Doctor, thank you so much for your clear, concise and informative discussion on this life style change. I am convinced it is the path forward for me.

I would love to have you do a video on thin people with carb addictions, I am not one of them but I know so many people who believe because they are not fat and are they are healthier. My sister fed this to me all my life. She never ate meat, veg but drank coke ate tons of Doritos and drank tons of beer. She was thin so she never worried about her diet. I have struggled and still do. Unfortunately she got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at 62 so please do a video explaining that thin people need no carbs also, it just may save their life.

I have been doing Keto for 2 years and started carnivore on March 17th 2023. I am feeling absolutely amazing. Joint pains are gone, and I no longer need to go to the chiropractor. Indigestion is gone as well. I started doing press-ups, and in the first week, I did 35 per day, which was 5 more than I usually do. I have steadily increased the number every day and did 70 a few days ago! I can't believe it!
What I added was boron, which was suggested by one of the many doctors I follow on CZcams. That took it to another level. I am 67 years young and will never eat vegetables again. No carbs, absolutely no carbs. I have not put sugar in my coffee or tea for at least 40 years.
Another effect of this diet is that the plaque on my teeth has completely gone. After about a week, I could feel it coming off, a very strange sensation. Additionally, I no longer have bleeding gums. I only take thyroxine for my underactive thyroid. I hope to get off of it over the next year on this diet.

Ive been off and on with different schemes to lose weight/get healthy. Started keto in december and decided by Jan 1st I needed to get more agressive with it. Went carnivore and Ive lost total of 18#. I have however plateaued bouncing between 174-178. More mods to my diet coming.
What I wanted to say about this, is that along the way Im learning about my relationship with food. Things that I could be told, but never truly understood till having experience. I use to be an alcoholic (rehab, the whole shebang). Having watched Docs vids a while back, Ive learned going through this he's right, that EVERYTHING about carbs and my way of eating translates into the addiction model for alcohol. Blows my mind but its true, and that knowledge gives me a map. I enjoy your vids Doc, they help a lot. Thank you.

It is so frustrating because I have eaten low-carb for couple of years now. I have watched many of your videos as well as those of Dr. Fong and Dr. Barry and I know that your way is the only way out but I’m sure my cardiologist would send me for a psych evaluation if I told him I wanted to eat butter lol. Also cleared up a confusing part for me about carbohydrates in vegetables, that was sixty or so years ago we ate both meat and vegetables but we had no obesity or metabolic issues, well not on the scale we have today. I certainly understood that excess carbs certainly cause problems for lots of people. We need to pretty much eliminate sugar and grains from our diet. The yes and no list is great, probably very sinilar to the way we ate before ultra processed food. Great video 👍

As for allowed fruit, when you said that the only fruit you allow is olives or avocado, I'm assuming you also allow things like squash, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Most people think of those as vegetables even though they're technically fruit.

those two are fruits that have a high fat content.
so .. should ideally be reclassified at some point post 11/2013.
      Zucchini (Summer squash)(fruit)
3.1 g Total Carbohydrate. contains lectins.
Cucumbers are low in carbs and very refreshing, but no fat to speak of. many of the cucumber's lectins can be found in their skin (it is bitter, so you don’t eat it). fermentation reduces some of the harm. but. unless u are making them yourself. not recommended. lots of junk in store bought brands.
by taking off the skin, you limit the number of lectins you're putting in your system.
tomatoes .. another big lectin bomb.
the new world fruit was brought back to the old world, and it took the Italians 200 years to figure out how to modify the fruit to make it not harmful .. but back then, the issue probably was pewter plates and cutlery. caused deaths. might be when ‘ the silver spoon ‘ thing .. became a thing. donno.
1492. was a long time ago.
seeds. skin. are the culprit, and why they go thru the trouble of blanching. silver cutlery reacts with the acidic nature of a tomato. some people object to that taste. had patients in the 1970s that complained about it.
all might help you transition, but should be phased out of your diet. unless. you just happen to have a perfect body (when consuming those).
I used to think they were super healthy.
      ate them my whole life.
since 2018. no. I definitely feel worse. eating any amount. oh well. life is better not spending any money on those items.
the ideal foods are naturally zero carb .. it would seem reviewing the lit. anything that has a label. should be avoided unless it is a single ingredient.

I gave up banana nut bread; I gave up blueberry muffins. I was addicted to sugar and flour! I do eat a small amount of fruit. I might-might-give up the occasional banana or small amount of blueberries, if my current diet does not provide a sufficient improvement on my numbers. But not now. I’m not addicted to them! I don’t crave them, the amounts I eat are small and don’t increase. What I must have with a meat-heavy diet, to prevent constipation, are my 5 prunes nearly every day. I’m not talking about infrequent BMs; I’m talking about hard little balls that don’t want to pass without pain and blood. Some carnivore docs say, eat more fat. I eat all the fat on my steaks. I eat butter with my boiled eggs. I get milk fat in my raw dairy. I eat olives maybe 3x/week. The only alternative to prunes would be to drink olive oil every night.
    Thanks, I’ll take the prunes!
I expect to see huge improvements in my numbers from just having given up cereals, bread etc., and things made with sugar. I drink a lot of spring water, as a singer I must stay hydrated. Giving up wine and beer is nothing more than a mild annoyance; I always give them up when I’m singing, and never had much to begin with. Not everyone is an addictive personality, or not addicted to everything. When I still ate cookies, I could always stop at three. But if they were in the house, I had them every day. I had to give up desserts, period. In some ways it was harder to give up my rye toast with my bacon and eggs. But none of that was hard. I just fill up on steak, hamburgers, eggs, lamb chops or shanks, chicken with the skin, etc. It helps to avoid Starbucks altogether (because they have the banana nut bread, chocolate croissants, cheese Danish, etc). But I still go to the restaurant where I got carrot cake muffins, and cafe where I got blueberry muffins; I just don’t order them. No problem.
At my inlaws for Thanksgiving, I had some of my niece’s fabulous cheese ball on 3 (only 3) triscuits; ate my fill of the cold ham and turkey buffet, for politeness had a spoonful of potato salad and pasta salad. And-as planned-had a small (really) piece of pumpkin pie without the crust with a small piece of vanilla ice cream. I know I won’t have it again till next Thanksgiving. I was not tempted in the slightest to buy a pie or a box of triscuits. Apparently I’m not addicted to these things. Our social life consists of maybe 4 family gatherings per year. So this is not an ongoing difficulty.
I do eat a few nuts mostly walnuts and pistachios.
It’s an experiment for me. I’m looking for improvements in bloodwork and will do whatever’s necessary, ultimately, to achieve that. In previous years I would never have given up the sweets. But, at 73, I have probably had more than enough sweets for a lifetime. So soon old, so late shmart, as they say.

Although I had the addiction all my life, I wasn't really aware of it until I broke it. It may sound crazy but one of my favorite foods now is a broiled hamburger topped with some crushed avocado. It seems to create crazy long-term satiety. Have a good one.

Right up until you started the ad portion, for Ketone IQ--now we're worried about calories?!? Now it's ok to drink gatorade zero even though it has 2 grams of carbs, to say nothing of the other nasty chemicals in it including artificial sweetener which triggers insulin response THE SAME WAY as real sugars?!?

I have been searching and searching for what works to keep me from bingeing out in the evenings. I am single with no children and I think my biggest problem, shockingly, is boredom. Yet, I have a physical job during the day and when I get home I just want to relax. Preface: before I had a bingeing problem I had an alcohol problem. I finally figured it out! It's the TENS unit I bought for my dog (who is no longer with me) there is something about hooking it up to my back and shoulders and giving myself a massage that just melts my tension away and makes me feel content. 😊 I should also mention I'm about 90% carnivore but I still fall off the wagon and that is what I've been trying to work on.

Snap Tammy, in almost everything you said. The only difference with us is alcohol, as I have never liked the taste, which is very lucky for me as I have an addictive personality.
I am a true carb addict though, particularly sweet food (chocolate is my biggest downfall!), and I constantly struggle with carb binge eating. Like you I'm mostly carnivore, but not as much as you, as I eat quite a lot of dairy in the form of daily kefir milk (for my IBS), and I couldn't live/enjoy life without butter, cream and cheese, and a little chocolate treat a few days a week.
Your trigger to binge eating is boredom, whilst my risk is higher with lack of sleep and stress, which are well documented triggers!
