Your garden looks marvelous, and I adore your daughter's input with the measurements. 🤗 I'm doing fall peas & cannot wait for neighbors to walk past my patio, viewing the veggies & classy trellis 💪🏼💪🏼 thnx a mil.

2" x 4" is the measurement of the lumber rough cut. Then it is milled down to 1 1/2" x 3 1/2". Older buildings have actual 2x4 framing before the modern Era of milling down the lumber.

Offer your neighbor some veggies if he will help you build these. Time to learn how to start bartering.

Cattle panel, bolt cutters and zip ties will last forever

Yep, I have some of those too, but these are for different areas where I want a different look.

Rick, How do you put shade cloth over these teepees when you have more than one in line? Also, why are my Zucchini only putting on male flowers? I've had some zucchini off of those plants,. Is it the heat? I mean it's only 101 degrees in northern Utah. I have 40% shade cloth on them that are open for the morning sun and pollinators. What's going on? It was as hot last year and I didn't have this problem.

I actually don't use shade cloth on much other than my peppers. This trellis is for beans or peas, neither of which would need shade cloth.
Yes it could be the heat, but you really don't need to have shade cloth over your zucchini. Just keep it well watered and it should be fine.

@@StoneyAcresGardeningExcellent, Excellent advice. I've only had luck with herbs 🌿 & flowers & turnip greens in Texas. We're breaking record temps here.
Surprisingly, the eggplants, tomatoes, cukes & peppers are beautiful but not producing. My watermelon are growing crazy, but I'm taking the expert's advice & keep fingers crossed for a wonderful fall harvest per Mr. Rick 😉
Hopefully, the peas will run like my sentences 😂😂

Good luck with gardening in these global temps. Here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas, I water 💧 garden between 6-7 a.m. so they won't boil like a stew. Take care 🙂 & I hope you better luck in the fall.
