Thanks for giving me an excuse to play through this game again. Thanks for making it so easily accessible to a western audience. Thanks for giving us a translation that respects the original script. I'm glad to see that one of my favorite titles is in the hands of a localizer who cares about it.
I just noticed the rainbow-colored circles when Sora says "I see someone"... wow. Even now, I'm astounded at how much detail Orange Juice puts into their creations.
Sora is a very interesting game because it's a game that has such a decidedly dark story from the same developer that made QP shooting. So to go from "omg pudding is love/life/etc" to this is interesting. And I wouldn't be surprised if Sora is their most popular game.
But It's really clear that OJ loves the suguri universe. From what I understand, all of the non-suguri games they've used royalty-free music before, but for the suguri games OJ contracted Deku to do musical scores which really does, to me, say a thing or two.
And then There's mixed juice. Which is all I'll say about that.
(also, when you say "your next game was kinda decided for you..." did I accidentally an idea?)
Sora's pretty easily their darkest game, I would say, but it's interesting just how much range in tone their works have. Hopefully we'll get an official localization of AoS2 at some point...from what I remember, that game's all over the map in terms of how seriously it takes itself.
And yeah...the next project might look a bit familiar to you...
The piano at the end is simply marvelous and sets the tone so perfectly.
Man, you won't catch me arguing, but, on the other hand, I'm a sucker for a good piano piece. I really need to see if I can dig up sheet music to Sora no Kakera...it doesn't sound too difficult, and I'd love to learn it.
One day... I'll be good enough at Sora to actually hear the piece from my own game.... one day lol

i've read somewhere that suguri was always meant to be oj's flagship series
makes me wish they'd give some of that love to flying red barrel, since that's my favorite oj game and i want it to have a sequel
the cameos in qp-d and christmas scramble make me sort of happy they at least remember flying red barrel, but i still want a sequel
You and me both. It's got a charming style and does a lot of fun stuff with the dialog depending on how you play, which I haven't seen a lot of games do.
Red Barrel's been on the to-do list pretty much since this channel started...but I'm really bad at it and have never managed to record a run I'm happy with. One of these days, maybe...
honestly i'm really bad at the game too so i have to play it on easy to have a chance at beating stage 4
with enough practice, i think i can slice through it with as much ease as i do the first three stages
and then i'll have to deal with stage 5 and getting all the endings and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
been following your channel for a while now, really like the annonations and the effort within, speaking of OJ, any chance you will do more AoS2 Story?
I haven't given much thought to AoS2 in a while, but yeah, I could certainly revisit that and cover another story or two. If I do, though, I'll probably take the synopsis approach to translation I used for Lethal Operation, rather than trying to go line by line like I did for the previous AoS2 videos.
I have no idea how long the next project is going to take, but I'll definitely put AoS2 back on the list of stuff I need to cover. Any requests for whose story I'd run through? I know I was threatening Sham way back when, and I had Hime suggested to me as well...

Just a note, this particular episode is out of order in your Suguri Series playlist. I was lucky enough to spot it on the side bar, but I thought you might want to know.
I appreciate the heads up, but believe it or not, that was intentional. The Suguri Series playlist is organized by in-universe chronology (because I'm a lore nerd and like doing things like that), and since Sora's extra stage takes place after the end of Suguri, it gets put way off towards the end.
Ah, that explains why Sora appears before Suguri despite being released later on. I had assumed it was a matter of which series you had done first.
Pretty much the opposite, actually. I think I've done four playthroughs of Sora over the course of this channel, but the English version is the most recent Suguri stuff I've covered besides Acceleration of Suguri 2. ...If you're planning to proceed into the Suguri videos from here, then brace yourself...they're a bit rough.
Ah, but speaking of AoS2, this reminded me that I hadn't added my more recent coverage of that to the series playlist, so thank you for that!
That was a great playthough :D Also, I can't help it, but is it fine if I recommend a doujin game? It has a trial that is a decent length, thankfully and I really like it :D (Also, I have no idea what you will be playing next)
By all means! I can't make any promises as to if or when I'll get around to playing it for this channel, but I'm always happy to get recommendations.
The name of the game is Shiki no Kyouken: Kan'na Zekkei. (四季の狂剣・神無絶景) I found out about it when I saw a No Upgrade playthrough of the game on the highest difficulty. The only bad thing I would say about it, is that it is a little wordy, but it looks, sound and plays great.

+UnexpectedGenreShift No problem. Also, in other news, LO: Rei got updated to 1.10 and now has a new boss! It also allows players to fight bosses like Desert and Frost infinity on the 6th, 16th, and 26th of every month.
Gonna need to give that new boss a shot one of these days. Of course, my Rei file isn't in nearly as good shape as my Rugitta file...this might be messy...
I'm guessing you play 100% Orange Juice as well, right? That game is how I found out all the others.
A bit, here and there. I have really bad random number luck, so the campaign tends to frustrate me. That said, I've been playing a fair bit of the multiplayer this weekend, and it's been surprisingly fun.
