Greetings, all. HyperGeek here. I'm a lover of the weird, wonderful, and obscure, playing games that I feel don't get enough love.
As a note on the archive: for much of this channel's history, commentary was provided in the form of annotations, which have since been discontinued and removed. I'm in the process of reattaching the old commentary as closed captions, but it's a work in progress. Starting with RKS Grollschwert, commentary became part of the original video, so any uploads newer than April 2017 should be fully intact. If a series you're interested in doesn't have commentary at the moment, drop me a line and I'll prioritize it!

Proto Patch in Progress
This was sort of inevitable, wasn't it?
Make no mistake, this patch isn't done, but I think there's enough here to be worth a preliminary release. This version translates most of the UI, item names and descriptions, Tyrant names and effects, stage missions, and the tutorial at the start of a new game.
What it does *not* translate is any of the game's script past the tutorial, plus some large chunks of the library, most notably the entire enemy section. There's also definitely some stray JP elements of the UI that I haven't managed to track down yet, and the content of the patch as a whole is significantly less...tested? Like, it's not going to crash your game, but the nature of Proto Sphere as a roguelike means it's harder for me to verify that I don't have text running out of bounds and stuff like that. Especially when you're as bad at it as I am.

9:17 Going for the S-Rank took me about ten or fifteen minutes, which is ridiculous considering the stage would only take about two minutes if you just skipped it... I have a question, how did you first learn about the S-Rank requirement for stage 12!? Did you have a guide or did someone tell you about it?

I'm happy I could get to see Kaho again here, I was considering reinstalling Momodora 4 after checking the games, but I feel like your uploads are fast and full of nice remarks and considerations. On a funny note I ended up realizing around 17 minutes that the name Momodora is taken by the names of the two protagonists. Better late than never haha.

Thanks, hope to play Lethal Op in English someday, even if it was just menus and equip screens translated. Seems to be very little recognition for this series in the west, unfortunately.
Glad to see you back in action again. And more a translation patch together. Boy I just realized this is like around 10 years since I started follow your Lethal and OJ series playthroughs already. Probably too much to ask but would be nice if I can see a patch for Protosphere and Operation chapters too. Or at least translation of gameplay key parts like those sphere tyrant effects.

However, I think I should refuse, because I am not confident in the quality of my translation. I think it is good enough for an unofficial fan project, but I am not comfortable with it becoming official. It is something I made as one fan to help other fans enjoy the game. Patch sadly doesn't work on windows 7. Getting an "api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll" error.

Glad to see you're still alive. The patch itself came at a pretty funny timing for me considering I just brought these games on Steam and wanted to (finally) play through them fully lol. Thank you for this, I'll be giving it a spin now.
Let me know if you have any problems getting it to work! I've given it enough testing to be *reasonably* sure the patcher will run on other people's computers, but any feedback is welcome.

Protosphere just dropped on Steam today. Yes I bought it (And I think Lethal Operation Rugitta drops 3 days from now?) and yes I'm gonna buy the LO games again as well cause I want to support the dev.

So been a while but Lethal Crisis is now on Steam. Made a steam guide for the mission requirements (linking to this playthrough for where I got the source cause yes I did get it from here) so people can make progress.

I know this is ancient now, but I've been trying to back fill the last couple of rank objectives I had to do in this game and I'm thinking the 20000 chain one isn't even possible anymore. One of the updates at some point seemed to lower the health of bosses across the board (Shuraisen 2 went from ~750k to ~490k) - and I suspect regular enemies as well. Using the same setup and a fairly stock vanilla level 50 Rugitta, I can't get over about 14000 chain before everything on the stage is destroyed, even with getting a few thousand extra out of Titan.

does that quote in the description come from anywhere? don't recall seeing it anywhere, then again i've yet to play sora or finish suguri (couldn't beat stage 6 some years back) edit: found it, AoSX extra. that’d be why i missed it, bc i was more frustrated about the pertinent achievement being broken
So been a bit but after watching an RTA (Speedrun) of this game, there are two things I noticed from it: Firstly, you can just start from the first room of each part so you don't need to redo the entire stage if you screw up. (yes, this means you can just clean out the enemies first) The second thing is that the Spike weapon ignores Defense, which means it's one of the few weapons that can damage a gold needle. (Sadly, killing one is out of the question. The commentary on the RTA mentioned they did try, got to 9k chain before the game crashed from a memory error.) Also, both Lethal Crisis and Protosphere are now on DLsite so yay more people can try and buy the game! (And Lethal Application for 100 yen)
