  • Jason slot dozing around a corner in the D10R. This method is to push at an angle into your slot (usually 2-3 cuts) and then push the multiple piles down the slot.

    Didn't know somebody in this world could 'dislike' turbo whistle. Its one of my favorite sounds ever! Guess there's a first time for everything...

    @TheBumcum You mean the older versions of the D10R. And no this came with twin turbos from the factory.

    @Bobus2003 No a D8 has the C15. The D10 Has the 3412TA or in later models (like this one) the C27 like the D10T. Easy was to tell is single stack or dual stacks.

    It makes sense with a diesel. You need the extra "Pull" from the turbos just because you're moving around weight. And as expensive as an all motor honda might be, turbo setups can be even more expensive, and even harmful to your engine if it cant take those pressures.
    As for making a fast daily driver that doesn't guzzle gas, it's usually easier to lighten the car and give it a bodykit that gives less airflow resistance, even good tires. A cheaper turbo simply cant compete price wise.

    @norWISequipment Nope taking the corner of the pile and angle pushing into a slot so I can move it a long distance (200m) and spread into the fill.

  • @MotoScootMech
    @MotoScootMech Před 12 lety

    Very true, especially in a perfect world. However I think that a turbo paired with a diesel is just an intrinsically good thing. In addition to that, those Honda engines that are more powerful than turbo'd engines are in most cases more expensive than a lesser engine coupled with a turbo. I will agree that turbos are gimmicks in many cases, but when you want to go fast in your daily driver and not break the bank on engineering and fuel costs, turbos are a reliable option. Your thoughts?

    Also, turbos dont necessarily equate to fast. I've beat enough ricers in my muscle truck to know that turbo-lag is a killer xD.
    The only turbo worth having imo is the lower pressure, watercooled sort that dont kill your acceleration. Like the kind found on older saabs and some volvos. Slap a watercooled, intercooled low-pressure turbo onto a lightweight car like a civic and it'll beat any other turbo'd civic off the line xD

  • @dragonbutt
    @dragonbutt Před 12 lety

    Ehhhh i prefer the whine of a supercharger of the spool-up-and-whistle of a turbo. And, while it's invaluable to construction equipment, turbos are just a pathetic excuse for cars that have weak engines xD.
    It's like how the veyron makes 990-ish horsepower with turbos, and barely 700 without. I mean, if you can make an all-motor honda civic(ie no turbos attached) that's faster than some of the fastest turbo ones, it makes the turbocharged car engine something of a gimmick :/

    @peepeevagi Supercharger whine does sound amazing, but dismissing turbos as a pathetic excuse is ridiculous.
    Superchargers place a large parasitic loss on the engine's power just to drive them so they can make boost and increase power. A turbo operates by harnessing wasted energy, in the form of heat from the exhaust gasses expelled by the engine to create boost and thus increase power. Sure, turbos need time to spool-up and begin building boost pressure whereas superchargers produce boost immediately off-idle, but dismissing turbos as pathetic means you really don't understand anything about them.
    Sure, building a really-powerful "all motor" car is quite an accomplishment, especially if it can out-power a similar engine with forced-induction. Utilizing a turbocharger or supercharger though, serves the function of increasing the engine's volumetric efficiency (making it more efficient per unit of displacement). Turbocharged engines are definitely not a gimmick.
