- This kit is a kind of the Hasegawa F-35 A version. It includes the decal of JASDF(Japan Air Self Defence Force) 302 squadron. The kit was easy to build but no option to open the weapon bay. Some people who buy it may feel unsatisfactory.

What sand paper do you use to flatten the putty?

Yes, I sprayed smoke gray the inside. (the instructions says to paint the inside)

About sandpaper, I'm using Tamiya "Finishing abrasives" series.

I'm using Tamiya enamel thinner (X-20) for tidy up.

You made the absolute best out of a pretty bad kit.! (y) Very unlike Hasegawa, this kit lacks the finesse that Hasegawa is known for. The large decals are a no go as well. That has to be painted on instead. But all in all, you did a fantastic job with it!!! :D (y)
Yeah but It is the only f-35 that is not super expensive

I think sandpaper is better to use between 400-1500 grit and water resistant.
In this video, I wet the surface to prevent scattering of sanding debris.

I built the b version of this plane and the only difference is that it came with a stand
Isn’t there a vtol mode?
Neture gray is only mr.color? Use tamiya neture gray ok?
In this video, I used mr.color only but I'm not sure this color is correct (= same to real thing) or not.
According to instructions of tamiya / italeri F-35A, the body color is AS-27(gunship gray 2). If you using tamiya color, I recommend to use neutral gray or gun ship gray 2 whichever you like.

AS-27 is what I used too the spray for my F-35B build
